- Simes replies to I do like call blockerAgain, TPS doesn't apply to 'market research' calls. And it SHOULD.
- Simes replies to Billy HutchOnce again people, please take note: TPS DOES *NOT* APPLY TO 'MARKET RESEARCH' CALLS.
We should all lobby for a change here. - Simes replies to booshout| 1 replyOnce again...TPS doesn't cover 'market research' calls.
- Jeeves replies to SimesSadly most people don't read previous posts before they make their own. I agree with you that TPS should cover Market Research but, like lot of "trade" bodies like ABTA, NHBA etc, they are funded by the very companies they are supposed to protect us from.
- Pip| 2 repliesI've just purchased a Call Saint from eBay which you can programme to block certain Nos.

- ajtt replies to Pip| 1 replyyou need to have caller display for Call Saint to work - extra cost not to receive calls you didn't want in the first place!

- Mr Mark HiltonI never answered this call cause I never heard my phone ringing. However I thought it was some kind of hoax caller. But didn't recognise that number
- Richard| 2 repliesDecided to take the call - I've missed a few. MR call on behalf of Nat West business services. Survey was approx 10 mins (which the lady said it would be). All Qs were about my experiences with Nat West, none were obtrusive. 2 areas covered - general view of NW & my last visit. Very polite, jolly lady, no hassle, and if the lady gets paid for this then I don't mind. Interesting to see if the calls stop now they have their info.

- bob replies to Richard| 1 replyDid you think about the encouragement you were giving to cold calling?
- Richard replies to bobFrom a personal viewpoint Bob, yes. I don't have a problem dealing with repeat callers and have found that genuine companies tend to stop calling when they have the info they need. The rest I deal with in various ways.
If your point is that this encourages the practice generally then No tbh. I was curious. Point taken tho. Tvm. - GJHBloody Nuisances. Email them on the link in previous post and let them know that you will start logging their calls and invoice them for your wasted time. It can be done legally.

- MaryJust got a missed call from this number myself, thanks for all the info. Totally agree with John, if they are a genuine market research company then they won't be doing anything dodgy. I work for one myself and TPS/ ex directory doesn't apply if your bank has passed on your details (or indeed if the market research company are doing a random dial - trying lots of random, automatically generated numbers, although that doesn't seem to apply here). To stop getting calls your best bet is to answer and politely decline the survey and ask them to completely remove your number and not call again. A genuine company won't have a problem with this. I find sometimes people understandably feel harrased by calls but it turns out they've been too polite to actually request not to be called again and have said something like "I'm busy right now", that and never answering the call usually means they'll keep on ringing! As for blowing a whistle down the phone, I understand calls can be annoying (I get enough of them myself) but considering you could really hurt the callers ears and they're only doing their job that's pretty extreme!
- AnnoyedI'm been called many times from this number but no one ever answers to my hello
- Elaine BoweHad a call from this number twice in the last two days. Do not answer at the time but then dial 1471 to see if it's a number I recognise. Do NOT answer calls from any numbers I do not recognise!!!
