keep getting calls but no message left

Called at 09:06 hrs GMT
Picked up, No no one answered my "Hello",  so Hung up.

If it is a Marketing Research Company, Just refuse to take Survey. Seem to be getting a lot of these calls lately.

No response on picking up phone dialed for last recorded number .Not the first time

A man called asking for my partner who was at work, he said he was from their bank but when I asked which bank he said it was confidential

A lady called Sue rang this evening.  She sounded apprehensive and as though she was working from home.  I said that I was who she was asking for, to which she said Natwest wanted to ask me about a recent branch visit, and that it would take about five minutes.  I politely declined, and she politely accepted that.  All cool.  Always be polite - hardly anyone wants to make phone calls for a living.  :)

Have just missed a call from this number. We are on telephone preference scheme and always tick box to say we don't want third party calls, yet these people keep bothering us.  Arrggh!  Didn't know this site existed.

Have had about 4 calls from this number in the past week. I've picked up a few times, it beeps, and no one answers my 'hello'. So i hang up.

Had a call exactly the same as this from this number.  We refuse to discuss anything personal with cold callers.

Called our number (again) today; very unproffessional, - comments and shreeking 'coooee' at our answerphone.

Go at call from 01233648537.  Was too late to answer the phone and got the number from 1471. Ran a check because we don't know anyone with this number. This is the second time.

This number has called me on my work number a few times, I ignore it and they never leave a message. Odd.

I had exactly the same type of call as Caz and Sid from this number.
Mine was at lunchtime on 03 July, from a guy called Alex. Claimed he was calling on behalf of my partners bank, but would not say which bank, to conduct a short survey about customer satisfaction.
Claimed the bank had given him our phone number.
Told him we would not discuss business with cold callers, so he rang off.
We checked with the bank, who confirmed the call and survey were nothing to do with them.
So this is really a phishing scam, which we reported to the police.

same crap as above, claimed to be from my partner's bank but then mentioned a "survey". was polite when I said we weren't interested.

Just had a call from this number. They asked for my wife by name and claimed to be calling from her building society. When I asked which building society this was, they would not say and claimed they could only divulge this information to my wife.

Naturally, I just hung up.

I received a call from this number 01233648537 this am.  The caller hung up immediately when they heard the words "I am unable to take your call right now... Leave your name and number... And I will get back to you" message standard for answer phones. This type of call is increasiningly frustrating for home phone owners like myself who are constantly bombarded with unwanted unsolicited and unrequited/unrequested calls like this. BT is largely to blame for the abuse of telephone calls as it introduced the initial 147/1471 method some years back at the digital telephone exchange changeover at the request of businesses who wanted to make use of cold-calling practices via the phone. Since then unscrupulous bona fide companies and foreign interests have taken advantage. Many companies are resorting to criminal activities to sell their products too. This has opened a floodgate for suspicious calls and scams from unregistered and unavailable numbers being illegally used and many of these calls are actually being made from outside the UK and are often untraceable. The government should put a stop to this type of calling by removing 147/1471 from the exchange systems as a first step in combatting criminal telephone behaviours.

I got a call from this number - no-one answered when I said hello.  Very annoying as I had to stop some painting I was doing at the time.  I though we had `scam calls' blocked by BT but apparently not.  Am as fed up as everyone else sounds at keep getting this kind of unwanted call!

Woman called asking for me,i asked who was it? She stated from my bank,so i said he was not in yet, i said i was his son ,so she said she would call back later,my bank is Natwest,I put above no into search engine,it is not my bank but some [***] wanting to survey me for gawd knows what,so next time she rings,she will be told thanks but no thanks! These cold callers are a pain in the [***] for sure,anyways i am having a change of number but will it stop these cold callers? I hope so! Tell them to 'do one' i say!

what 147? and whats 1471 got to do with it?

whose number is this. Keep getting calls not only thru the day but also into late evenings. No message left but very annoying
