Persistently called by this number for WEEKS. My wife told them to stop calling as they are scammers. They told her they would continue calling until we paid them attention and insisted on talking to me as the main computer user. If I do talk to them I will use Ken's whistle tip.

I too have received numerous calls from this number. Have terminated all calls without giving any information but am struggling to find a way to report this to anyone who can do anything about these bogus callers. Any ideas please ?

I receive calls from this number two or three times every day but no one tries to speak to me. It's getting annoying.

rang this morning, asian and dint understand much wat she was sayin, said i had a laptop and i had 2 get her 2 repeat everything an still dint understand wat she was saying, so i jus said im hanging up an went, i check missed calls on my house fone everyday, and while im at work they normally call bout 3 durin the week every weekday

Have just received a call from this number. They claimed to be a computer company (sorry I missed the name) I told them I wasn't interested and hung up straight away.

I have had several such calls.
They claim to be calling from SE asia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malasia etc. But WHICH country?

Having recognized that they simply want your Bank details and passwords I do try and establish more. Where do they get my number from, since I am ex-directory?

If you do get a call like this say that you will ring them back and see if there is some way to establish their geographical location.

There are just too many such scammers and they are all criminals. People come up to you in the street and demand money they come to the door and demand money they send emails phone calls and the rest. And yet these people have more disposable income thanks to the unreasonable generosity of our government.

As for the computers, do remember that Microsoft Windows is designed to host viruses and if you want to avoid that save the pennies and subscribe to Apple or, much better, use open source Unix or Linux of which there are many flavours to choose from but Unix is by design secure and cannot host Microsoft viruses.

Yah had so many calls of these idiots. I've been called a liar and a stupid person by one of the guys.... I'm sure Microsoft hasn't got that pencilled into there good customer service script....

Apple Macs don't get virus's. They will claim otherwise.

This time I said I don't own a computer. Funny enough the phone went dead.

best thing to do is when they ask is that Mr .... in an indian accent...just hang up. don't even give them the time of day.. although i did it once and it was my takeaway ready for collection   :(

This is still going on, had a call this morning, just silence, can BT not just disconnect these people?

I keep receiving calls from the above number but when I answer there is no one on the line

That number called 3 times today: first time was silent call; second was guy with Asian accent wanting to know if we ever had PPI protected loans; third time was (another) guy with Asian accent wanting to warn me about computer virus infection in our area (yeah, like it all propagates like the flu -- one computer sneezing on another).
Put the phone down on them.
They mutter so much you just can't make out the name of the so called company.
I wouldn't mind by my number is ex-directory but they are calling me by my name! I'll take this one up with my phone provider...

i rang talktalk today,i can have the number blocked..for a monthly fee..i traced the number to bradford, but thats it. if you dial 1477 directly after the call it will be logged as malicious and after 5 logged calls you can log to the police.

Nah, nothing to do with OpenOffice... they are just a bunch of cold calling scammers... F*** 'em!

Yes Got on this morning to my number which is both Ex-directory and TPS listed. They clearly don't respect any use of data. These clowns are clearly indulging in criminal activity. This number is within the BEDFORD area code area. Incidentally I told the guy who called that I was a computer engineer and to clear off and stop bothering me. But he still tried to get me. I just hung up on him. They are very persistant.

Silent call from 01234765093, tried calling them back and number is unobtainable, which means they are using a false caller ID.

When I have answered before its been someone telling me that my computer has a virus and they can help resolve it. I am highly computer literate and know they can't possibly tell this although the Asian man on the other end insisted he could. Trust me they can't!

Will be reporting them to OFCOM.
