i had a call from these people from the telegram office asking about a neighbour living 3 doors down i denied all knowledge of the neighbour. A month previous i had 2 letters turn up from capquest addressed to my ex-husband(ex for at least 5 years) who has never ever lived in this city let alone this house. I rang them and told them how dare they contact me because of him and that if they contacted me again they would be hearing from my legal representative on the grounds of harasment. Waiting with baited breath to see what happens next (I have done an experion check i owe nobody)

My husband had a call from these people about something to do with a old credit card thought it was a bit strange when we called the bank he`s due a few hundred pound back.

I have just recieved a letter from Telogram asking me to call their Customer Service number Tel:01252 576376 and to quote a Ref number, as they have a telogram message for me which will be deleted if not heard by a certain date

Missed call from this number this afternoon @ 3.55pm if they phone back then i will not answer! My phone number is ex directory like to know how they got it????

My partner had a call from them shes due money back from years ago something to do with a old loan.

they call often claiming to have a telegram for a certain person though i do not give them any information there last call was this morning round 8.30.

I received a call from this company asking for my dad. They gave our old address, where we used to live, and I gave them our new one... i'm really freaking out now, cos I'm scared that something is going to happen...

Claim to be a "Telegram Company" in Glasgow, wanting to confirm my address needing to send a letter to me urgently!

Just had a call from this number did 1471 and was telegran Ltd called straight back and (its Sunday) the answer service said office was shut! - I rang Capquest (part of same company yesterday) as they had sent a debt collection letter to a previous tenant of this house (I've been here over 2 years!) and Capquest are working on behalf of Allaince and Leicester to collect and unpaid loan - I know that bits true cos I've had letter after letter for this guy from Alliance and Leicester over last 2 years - this co is a legitimate debt collection co but with very dubious and sneaky ways of trying to get info out of you!! beware!!

Called my neighbour too with exactly same messages the other night, can I report them to trading standards?

Received a call from Telogram ydy, though could barely understand the accent.  They asked for my current partner's ex wife (from 10yrs ago!).  We are not married, so do not have same name, and the phone is registered to me, not him, so who knows where they got their info.  Anyway, told them no-one of that name had ever lived here, which is quite true.  The reponse I then got was them quoting my partner's name and our house number - to which I replied 'I don't know who you are or what you want, but I think you have made a mistake' and put the 'phone down. Will report pack if I hear again.

I received a letter from a "company" called TELOGRAM on Thursday 18 Feb. 2010, asing me to call them to retreive a message they were holding for me. The letter was dated 14 Feb. 2010, 14/02/'10 being a Sunday & according to the opening hours at the foot of the letter they were not open on a Sunday, I immediately became suspicious & Googled both the comapy name & the phone number given in the letter.   It transpires that this is a debt collection agency, also known as HL Legal & Collections (www.hllc.co.uk, although this web site makes no mention of TELOGRAM. Presumably because,a; they do not wish to appear to be a debt collection agency when their victim opens the letter & b; a little research has shown that they engage in business practises that would be frowned uppon by tha numerous professional bodies whose names & logos appar on the HLLC website).   In short, treat them in exactly the same way you would treat any other unsolicited call or item of mail asking for personal details.   TELL THEM NOTHING / CONSIGN THE LETTER TO THE BIN!!!

this company work on behalf of other debt collectors. They write and phone pp; to try and trick them into giving them the infprmation they want. It is not a scam just their way of getting the info they want to find debters.

i have had a letter from telogram saying they had been trying to trace me and if i did not contact them then they would have to use other sources to find me or turn up on my doorstep, i then had  missed calls from the number 01252576376 quite a few times but luckily i looked up the company as soon as i reieved the letter so i knew this number was something to do with them, i find this company and others that operate like them very intimidating and worrying, i have no idea how they found my address or phone number and think that somebody should stop them harrassing other people and trying to claim money that they arte not intitled to. If anyone recieves a letter from a company TELOGRAM BEWARE!!!! and do not give them or confirm your details!!!

Called my parents asking for details about their neighbour.  It seemed very dodgy. The caller claimed to want to deliver a telegram.   My father gave no details but was concerned as they knew a lot of details about the neighbour but wanted confirmation of details.

These sleazebags are buying statute barred debt extremely cheap and are hoping that people's ignorance will bring them in a few quid. Anyone who gets a call off them just ignore them. If you have been naive enough to engage with them still pursue this tactic. If they persist to call you, don't acknowledge who you are and threaten them with the police for making harassing calls. Warn any family that they may contact them to ask of your whereabouts. Just get everyone to play dumb and threaten them with the authorities.

These scavengers are scum. If they had a legal leg to stand on they would write to people or issue writs. If a debt is more than 6 years old you do not have to pay it. The debt will remain statute barred so long as you never take any responsibility for it or acknowledge it. These pond life are trying to get you to acknowledge a debt so they can restart the clock. Look up websites about statute barred debt to get the full run down on how the law works.
