My parents received a call from these a couple of weeks ago.The guy asked my mother to comfirm her details.He then asked her if number so and so was 2 doors down from her.Then she was asked if she knows the people who live there and gave the names of both of them.He told her they used to live in Windham Square.He said he's been desperately trying to get hold of them but has been unable to and asked her to pass a message to them giving her the phone number and reference number and said to tell them that they'd rather the wife called (giving her name).My mother passed the message on and the neighbours haven't lived in windham for over 10 years and it was only the husband who had.They tried getting through on the number given and where asked questions relating to someone who does not live there.

01252576376 phoned this afternoon looking for my neighbour who I don't know, said they had a parcel to deliver to him.  They told me they found my number by finding my name and address on voters roll then getting my number from the phone book.  Very wierd so I just put the phone down.

Had a letter from these muppets this morning addressed to the previous tenants. Usual trick of holding it up to the light showed it was from a Telogram and asking Mr X to contact them urgently to receive an urgent message.
Mt nieghbour two doors down also had a call from someone who gave no details asking for info for this guy. Needless to say, it'll be sent back "not known at this address". And I hope they never find who they're looking for! Nasty devious company.

We have been dealing with Capquest for about 8 months now, they originally wrote to my fiance regarding a debt owed to Littlewoods finance company, which curiously enough my fiance has never dealt with. We simply wrote to them saying that he does not owe any money and has never dealt with Littlewoods before, and we will not deal with them unless they can find further info about the supposed debt.

Since then we have had 6 letters saying that they are very sorry to keep us waiting but they are still trying to find further information (not likely too as we have never dealt with littlewoods) SO recently we recieved another letter saying that they are still looking for info but are willing to settle the debt if my fiance pays half of what is owed - Uh, no, I dont think so somehow.

This last letter was recieved at the end of March and since then we have heard nothing, until now... Yesterday a neighbour a few doors down came to the house with a message that someone had a telegram for my fiance and to ring the number and quote a reference. I then googled the number and found this forum.

So now I am in the process of writing these idiots yet ANOTHER letter asking them what the hell they are playing at calling people from our street when they have our address, and when they dont even have any further information!

Grrr, makes me so angry!

P.S. If anyone here does owe money that is over 6 years old google 'statute barred' and you should find a letter wich you can send to debt collectors that will get them off your back and also remove you from their records. As debts over 6 years cannot legally be collected. Hope this helps someone.

My elderly neighbour has just came to my door saying that someone from TELOGRAM called her asking when was the last time she saw me and passed on a number and ref number for me to contact them on.
I am in debt but i am unemployed and unwell to work at the moment and don't have any assets. why did they phone my neighbour and how did they get her number? my total debt is under 5 grand and to 4 or 5 diffirent debtors. but i don't know what to make of these people as i have never heard from them or received any letters from them before.

What should i do??

She didn't give out any info and she said it was a very strange phone call.

I was pressured into this sweepstake and i think i messed up and ordered something that i don't have the money for. i am trying to contact them but the number keeps ringing up busy.  any ideas?

Caller asked for me by my surname and if I lived at a certain number which was actually a neighbours address. The caller said he had an important delivery for  someone at the neighbouring address. He supplied a name and asked if I knew them ,which I did not, and then asked if I would mind dropping a note through their door with the number 01252 576376 and a reference to quote. He claimed to be calling from "Telegrams Offices" (Telogram?)

Received Letter from telogram saying that they were chasing a bad debt from someone with the sme name as me. I am going to hunt them down.The hunter will become the hunted!

Called saturday morning claiming to have an urgent telegram, wouldnt say who it was from and only knew our surname, wanted us to confirm our address. My mum answered the phone and confirmed the details, as soon as she told me about it I told her it sounded like a debt collector trick. My dad does have debt but it isnt very old so seems odd. I think this is very underhanded and really its telling all your neighbours your in debt, surely this isnt right.

Capquest... Or Crapquest as a many people seem to know them as. They hound and hound and hound. I am sick of trying to sort out my debt with this company as i get no where and instead am just threatened with legal action?!

This company are a nightmare and need some kind of authority to take action against them and their harrasing ways!!

Had a call which I rejected and called back and said it was 'telegram' I hung up after that, I do have debts with a catalogue but they don't have my new mobile number however they do have my current address and landline so I'll wait until I get anything in the post if I do I'll call the catalogue to confirm, but it does appear this number is a scam from googling it.

missed call

This number rang me today saying that they were hunting down my neighbour for a package. Thought it was wierd as they didnt know his door number or phone number but knew mine. I asked how they got mine and they said that they have a directory of contact details, which I also thought was suspicious. The lady was also asking me odd questions about whether my neighbour works and knew who he used to live with.

i add same , add message sayin ring back ect , so i did , she ask me to confirm my adress  to which i sed no , i then askd her can i hav your second name she sed no under the data act, so i sed to her your ringin us up askin us for our names and adress but yet you wont give me yours, she then replied with i am goin to hav to terminate this call , just before she did, i expalnied i was from virgin media, and that we hav add reports off this 01252 number giving nusence calls , askin for info, i think i rumbled her and i think she nos it, i realy add her puttin me on hold as she couldnt answer my questions that she wasant trained for, this is a dodgy comapny , dont give your details out - watever they ask you for, remeber they rang you 1st , so if anythin you want there details 1st , and that isnt wat they are prepared to do - RUMBLED

My problem with British Gas and Capquest began about three months after I moved out of the first flat I rented.

My mum got a call at home asking for my address; the company claimed to be the Telegram Office, and, stupidly, my mum gave them my new address.

I kept getting calls and letters saying I owed a debt, and after googling I discovered it may be British Gas employing these deceitful techniques, so I emailed them and told them I'd be contacting Watchdog about it.

Cut a long story short, they said they hadn't sold my debt, and denied any knowledge of Capquest. I gave British Gas my meter readings for my old flat, and they promised to send a new bill. British Gas have not sent a new bill, and Capquest ring me all the time. I can't get very far with them, because whenever Capquest ring they demand the first line of my address. I ask them if they'd honestly do the same if someone rang them? Capquest's [***]' brains cannot compute this question however, and they mereley repeat the demand.

Capquest are honestly a complete bunch of pricks. They rang me so much when I was at the Glastonbury festival that my battery died after two days. Seriously Capquest, f*** off. And British Gas, f*** off with them. What is your problem?

They keep calling us asking if xxxxx lives at number 8.  We do sometimes get mail for xxxx, some of it didn't have a return address so I had a look and it is debt collection.  I don't know my neighbours, but even if I did know if she did/didn't live at number 8, I'm not going to tell some random person

i keep recieving letters from them saying they will send someone round my house if i do not answer to the letters they are sending, what shall i do???

HI,Capquest took me to court for 5k which i never had and got a letter today from HL Legal same outfit I presume saying they dont want to go any further,this has been on-going for 4 years,the stress this has caused has been really bad both my wife and I are tablets can I SUE them?
