Report a phone call from 01252576376 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- JennyCosecHad 2 calls from this number this morning, but they'd rung off by the time I answered the phone. Having just got rid of (I hope) the persistent 01932 504981 calls I hope this lot are not going to be harrassing me now. I don't have any debts luckily so they must be fishing for neighbours. I don't know anything.

- Peeved| 1 replyJust had a call from 01252 576376, a man telling me he is from a "mailing" company called DVSL and did I know Mr ****** next door as they had mail they needed to forward to him. As a government and county court enforcement officer, I was suspicious so did not divulge anything, but asked him how he got my number as it is ex-directory, and is also registered with the TPS. He told me my number was on a "preferred" numbers list, he had my name, my address, obviously my phone number, but also the name of my ex-husband as being registered here when in fact he left more than 10 years ago. He then also told me the address at which my neighbour used to live, I questioned whether he could do this, and was he not breaking the data protection act. I again questioned how he got my details, and then said they get them from the electoral role, I told him I opt out of the edited electoral role and am only on the full role which the public cannot see. I told him that I was a local government and county court officer at which he said "OK, if you can't help me, goodnight". I got straight onto the internet and have found this site, and which it appears others have been pestered by these people. I wonder how legal it is for a debt collection company to hassle people who are nothing to do with somebody who has debts, to find your phone number somehow, and ring you at home and tell a pack of lies down the phone to try and get you to divulge a little bit of information? I am going to look deeper into this.

- GillThis Company have called me on my mobile and wanted past addresses and current address. They would only tell me that they had returned post for me and were going to forward it to my new address. They also wanted my DOB. I gave them no information.
- Caller: DBSL
- KI just picked this call up on my collegues phone at work, but the first thing they asked was if this was Fielden Crescent, I said no (because it isn't), he sounded a bit confused then apologised & we hung up...very odd.
- Caller: No idea
- RaquelReceived a call from 01252 576376 the person said her name was Amy calling from DVFA. She said her company was trying to contact my neighbour by mail unsuccessfully and was unable to get a response. She had his full name and address.
I asked why she telephoned me and where did she get my phone number as I am ex directory. She said her company has a database that links the electoral role with telephone numbers. I told her my neighbour moved house and I do not have a forwarding address. Hopefully that would stop them from calling me again.- Caller: DVFA
- JP replies to PeevedIt seems they are a scam company. someone gave details on page 1 here of who they actually are. Probably the address is either bogus or out of date. I had a missed call from this number; so looked it up straight away as I didn't recognise it. I'm registered with the TPS too, but it seems to make no difference to these crooks!
- mark surteesthey keep calling
- Mozanswer machine took it - they hung up
- SamJust had a call from this number and they hung up as soon as I answered.
- debt advice replies to Davehi there yes they are working for a debt company they are chasing up debts they get payed by tracing people who have debts and have moved on or refuse to pay up
- AnonymGot a phone call asking for Lee May. No idea who this is. Simply thought it was a wrong number. Instead of accepting this answer the lady, who was speaking in a rather forced 'posh' accent, proceeded to ask me if I knew of any relatives that may be related to this name. I found this an odd question and laughed. I said 'Err no not at all'. She laughed too and finished the call politely.
Wasn't really a nuisance call-I have had worse. Although after reading the comments on this site, maybe I should keep a lookout for further calls of the same nature.
No harm done. Deny all knowledge :-P- Caller: Not stated

- Jeeves replies to ScottGuess whar? Your post is on page 22 of complaints about this number. On page 1 of the complaints about this number is chapter and verse on who and what these people are, complete with contact details.
- FergieCap Quest will make a lot of noises and "threats" but that is all they can do, Telogram Ltd is to confuse people into getting information, who actually sends telegrams any more? but they have used the we have a "parcel" for your neighbour! If you pass on someone's personal information (telephone number etc) it could infringe on the data protection act. One guy got asked what was the make, model and registration of the neighbours car! These guys used to go under they name of 1st Credit, they go hammered by informed consumers who fought back. They biggest ploy is buying old debits however a lot of them are barred debts plese see below.
Here is the relevant section from the Debt Collection Guidance as set down by the Office of Fair Trading - advice, Cap Quest to read this section.
Statute barred debt
2.13 This guidance applies to the pursuit of debt regardless of its age. We will be
carrying out further work on this aspect of debt recovery including analysis of
relevant legislation and practice throughout the UK.
2.14 In the past we have dealt with a number of statute barred debt cases governed by
the Limitation Act 1980, which applies to England and Wales. Based on that
experience our position with regard to England and Wales remains:
a. we accept legally the debt exists
b. it is the methods by which the debt is collected that can be
unfair as follows:
• it is unfair to pursue the debt if the debtor has heard nothing from
the creditor during the relevant limitation period
• if a creditor has been in regular contact with a debtor before the debt
is statute barred, then we do not consider it unfair to continue to
attempt to recover the debt
• it is unfair to mislead debtors as to their rights and obligations, for
example, falsely stating or implying that the debt is still legally
recoverable and relying on consumers not knowing the relevant legal
provisions, and
• continuing to press for payment after a debtor has stated that they
will not be paying a debt because it is statute barred could amount to
harassment contrary to section 40 (1) of the Administration of
Justice Act 1970.- Caller: Capquest
