It's CapQuest alright. They are well known for their bullying and underhand methods.

Look on the Consumer Action Group forums (you have to register, but it's free, and it will be the best thing you ever did) for all their law breaking tactics.

They've just called me, even though the account is formally in dispute, and they have been warned only to deal with the matter in writing on several occasions.  

Don't be threatened by these people - they DON'T have the law on their side, and they can't do half the things they're telling you they can do.

This number has been harassing us for weeks now ,  they tried to phone the house got no reply so tried my mobile , now that is worring in how they managed to get that number . And more to the point i dont have any debts

Ansapone has been broken for a couple of weeks and put new one on today to get message from this number saying they were EDSL (cd be EBSL) and asking me to call them, had my christian and surname.  Thanks for the info on these people, won't bother calling them back.

Got a call from this number asking me to confirm my neighbours details. I asked them where they got my name and phone number from as we are ex directory and on the tps list they said out number was on a "consent " list that they could use??? Will warn my neighbours about them though I concerned that they knew my name and address.

just had a call from this company askin if i was my address i confirmed that but then they started askin about a fella who used to live nxt door to me, if he worked, is he still in the area etc, they said they had some mail to get to him and wanted to know where he was to get it to him, dont know who they were should i be concerned that they had my mobile number and knew my address??

Recieved a voicemail on my mobile this afternoon, all the male voice said was 'Message from the DVSL, can you please call back on 01252576376,  quoting reference number 1870F8'.
Very suspicious & very vague.  Will definately not be returning any calls!!

Got a call from this number asking me for information on my next door neighbour who has moved.  When I rang back there was a recorded message informing me that John Ilkins was unavailable and to either hold on (whilst they find my 'party' or to leave a message; when I held the message said that they couldn't find my 'party' and that John Ilkins was unavailable.  Sounds very underhanded to me...

Yes got the same...... Its Capquest / Telogram / and now DSVL /...... Debt collectors. Blood suckers. Hope they rot in hell. Ignore them. The only people who can garnish your wages is the council/government. Non secure loans can just hope that you pay. CCJ's also mean squat I've got about 40 of them.... No credit rating.... but now only pay cash for what I want. The rest can kiss my grit......... MMMMwwwwaahhahahahahahaa

Had a call yesterday looking for a person who has the same surname as mine, got out of them that they were from DSVL.  Female with a slight Irish accent.

had a call from my elderly parents (who are also quite ill), worried sick because this number called them saying they were from DBSL and looking for someone (they gave my wifes name), the guy said he had a letter in hand with our address on it and wanted to confirm she lived here. wouldnt tell my folks anything more than that.
My mum suffers from very advanced stages of MS, she gets bad if she has things to worry about, so for the few days it took before i had a chance to speak to them, they were both worried sick my wife and i were in huge debt and wondered how the frig these people got hold of their number (they are only related through marriage and they are not listed in any phone books, donno how they found them. also we havent had any letteres from them yet...)  on top of this, my wife and i are going through a seperation, and because of all this, ive had to tell my parents about this too (was keeping it quiet because i knew it would cause further distress etc). surely these cowboys can be nailed to a fence and shot for this?!   still dont know what the heck this is about.

Just had a call from this number - female with Scottish accent asking to speak to someone I don't know, although I recognise the name from a couple of letters sent to him here, which I returned to the sender.  Fairly polite conversation in which I suggested they could have confused my road with one of the same name in the city about eight miles from me.

If anyone from the same number calls again they might get more than they bargained for...

I had a call from these people just now. The woman (Scottish accent) asked for me by name and said she was from DVSL (?). I asked her to clarify what company it was and what they actually did. She repeated the initials and said they forwarded mail.
She asked me to confirm my date of birth. I refused as I wasn't satisfied with her vague answer. She told me she would just forward the mail.
Huh?

Had a phone call from 01252576376 on my mobile this morning saying that she was calling from DVSL but wouldn't say who DVSL were so I just put the phone down on her.

I do have debts, most of which are in dispute, but I haven't had dealings with CapQuest before. As far as I can remember only 1 creditor used to ring my mobile so I'll await a letter to see if it's them.

I'm unemployed, despite having a degree, so they can't get anything from me because I don't have anything!

They called asking about my next door neighhbour. Got my daughter to look this number up on the internet. I think its something fishy.

This number called my neighbour this am saying they were DVSL she thought they were DVLA!! She said she knew no-one by this name they were asking about (my name) as she thought it all sounded very fishy. She looked them up on line, found out there are fishy and came round to tell me. Have just read all these threads and cannot beleive these people are able to harrass in this way. They certainly deserve to have their under hand methods ignored, and preferably stopped, how does one go about reporting them? and to whom? Thanks

YOU would report them to the OFT (Office of Fair Trade) FSA (Financial Services Authority) and your local Trading Standards (Available through your council). JUst google these regulators and you will find their websites and how to complain.
