Just had a call from them asking for my ex mother in law who I haven't seen in 7 years, never mind the fact she has never lived with me in my home or used my home phone number as any form of contact number! Was wondering if she was trying to pull something over on me but from reading this thread I now know it's that idiot firm Capquest so I suspect this won't be the last I hear from them!

Just received call on my mobile from 01252576376 asking if I could confirm that one of my neighbours still lived at No. 15. Told them I could give them that information. Although same as above I did confirm my house no. very stupidly. They said the Company name was DVSL and had a letter for my neighbour. Very dodgy.

just got a frantic call over the fence from my neighbour saying that these people had to contact me urgently they had tried writing and asking all sorts of questions like did i live next door  etc....she didn't give any infomation and shouted straight over to me......i looked on the net to see who on earth this could be because ive never heard  of them or for them and have arrived here.....am not a happy person......the company called using the name DVSL

same as the others received a call saying they was a "mail forwarding" company (had this before saying "telegram" company) asking about neighbours whereabouts, telphone number etc....
Asian gentleman asking the questions, didn't believe a word he said, [***] him (and his Dad).
Do we get paid for doing their job ? can we send invoice ?

Look out for number +20 84958717. Exact same company as all the other numbers.
Best thing to do is just not answer your phone.

I've had two calls from them in consecutive days.  They were asking if I live in ######## Road (I used to up to 2 years ago), I said no that was the end of the call.

Received a call from these people at 8.45am asking for info regarding next door neighbour, ie name she gave me the wrong name and when I told her it wasnt that she asked what it was, i said I couldnt remember as we dont speak to them. She then asked if they had not lived there long so i said they had been there approx 2years, but i knew nothing about them, so she rang off. Have logged their number  so wont be answering any more calls from them.

Had a call on my mobile, saying they had mail they needed to give me.
I asked who from, and what is it about. They said they cant open my mail so they cant tell me and they wanted me to give them my full address. ( They had my old one lol )
I wouldnt give it out. But i did say if it's a debt, can they tell me now so i can sort it ( altho ive none outstanding )

just recieved a call from a lady asking for a person with my same surname...i told her that she didnt live her and she continued to ask questions...she new my address and asked to confirm if i new the person they were ringing about does anyone i no know this person...saying they had a letter for them...very odd and dodgy

They hung up as soon as I picked up the phone.  I got the number from 1471 and called it back.  Got an automated message saying that they were DVSL

Had a call from this number about a neighbour, they knew his name and his address, they asked for me by name, they wanted to know if he was at home or work and did I have a work number for him, I said all I knew was he was at work, and then I hung up, I wonder how they got my mobile number and my name...sounded well dodgy

I had a phone call from this number this afternoon... thankfully i was out when they rang and no message was left. i am worried they will be ringing the neighbours.... odd. looks like an aldershot number.

just had a phonecall from these people asking about my neighbour, didnt give them any details at all, i did not confirm my neighbour lives there as i had no idea who they are talking about! they didnt say who was calling either, they tried to make out they were an old friend trying to get in touch!

This company are harrassing my 78 years old mother asking for someone who doesnt live at her address. She is deaf and confused and is now distraught. How did they get her address and number, which is ex directory? Why isnt there anything done about these shysters

Just had a phone call from 01252-576-376 saying im looking to speak with a mr s b###r i said he used to live here and whats this regarding, he told me he was needing some updated information on mr s i said are you a delivery company (as im waiting for a parcel)  he said no but do you know mr s i said no im with his ex now and mr s done a bumk due to some debts, this guy from dvsl as they called themselves laughed and i said can i take a message as mr s might get intouch as his kids are here.

As for the law, DEBT COLLECTION COMPANYS CAN NOT, AND I REPEAT (CAN NOT) COME TO YOUR DOOR AND COLLECT GOODS,
they threaten to with loads of letters saying final demands and more charges will be added but they cant do nothing BELIEVE ME,
IF you only owe 200-300 pounds they will not take it to court and even if they do and you cant afford the debt the judge will ask how much can you afford, if you say 10 pound a month MAX then he will except that,
if your on benifits then you can even say £1 or 5 pound,

I looked into this in depth as i was so stressed about debts i owed, and the collections companys

ALL THESE CAN'T THREATEN OR THERE BREAKING THE LAW ALSO THEY CANT COME TO YOUR DOOR AND DEMAND PAYMENT, AND MORE IMPORTANT
THEY CANT GO INTO YOUR HOME, only courts can order that and thats only IF YOU DONT PAY THEM AFTER ITS BEEN TO COURT AND THEN YOU DEFAULT ON THE PAYMENTS.

Do not stress about these companys PUT THERE LETTERS IN THE BIN
OR
CHANGE YOUR FULL AND DONT GET CREDIT ON NOTHING, STAY INVISIBLE

These callers harassed my 84yr old mother, she thought they were from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing looking for my personal details. They said "DVSL".
Now that I know who it is I will report them for harassment and false representation

I had a call from these people today. Asked if I lived at *address*, I did not confirm that I did, just asked who was speaking.

They said that they were trying to get in touch with someone two doors down. I said that I didn't know them and hung up. After all, I don't know the people that live two doors down and the person that called could have been anybody.

But now I want to know how they got my number as I'm ex-directory and on the telephone preference service. I'm half hoping that they call back again so I can ask them.
