i too have had the 'mail forwarding agency' ring this afternoon wanting my sons address - when i refused they tried to ge the info by suggesting addresses but i said they should send me the info if they want it forwarding - they were non-commital on that.  My son is going to get a credit check done as well (he has no debt apart from an approved overdraft) as he HAS had his card stolen in the past and there was fraudulent activity on it!  I now know i need to go to the neighbours and speak to them but they only know which city he is in and no more so they cant give anyhting away.............i think!

2 seperate neighbours got telephone calls ( within minutes of each other ) asking if my grandaughter still lived at my address. They claimed that they had a parcel for her.

I had a call from the Telegram company and they asked to confirm my name and address, then said they had a message for me, and could i confirm my date of birth! after this i knew it was either dodgy or debt collectors, so i said that i would not give my date of birth as a security issue and hung up.

The following day i received a letter from them, upon reading the letter i can see that there is a credit licence (at the very bottom and in very small print) so they are a debt colletors hiding under a message service but they could have been a scam.

Please know that they need your date of birth to fully confirm that you are the person they should be chasing so DO NOT EVER give your date of birth to them or any company, this is also for your own personal security, and reduce the chance of id theft etc. Good luck and best ignore them ( i will) as they need to fully prove that you are the person they are looking for and not a case of mistaken id and if i get another letter from them (they have a note CDR, PO box 2768) i will return to sender.

Thi nuimber called my neighbour - they disclosed a great deal of my Dtat Protected personal information to my neighbour and asked her to confirm that I was the occupier of the address they gave her- she is a pensioner who was very very frightened by this intrusion and it made her ill with worry- I called tis company which is CAPQUEST GROUP AKA TELOGRAM LTD- A debt collection agency with little or no regard for the law. I would advise anyone who comes acroos this type of Low Life behaviour from these less than ethical THUGS is to write to the company your debt is with and f=refuse settlement until they move the debt elsewhere.

I would suggest writting and callinmg their neighbours asking details about them.

A touch of their own medicine might do them good.

I've come home to a letter from Telogram today asking for me to confirm my address as they are working on behalf of X (insert random bank name).

I've recently bought this house so assume they got the info from someone within the sale process.

I used to have an account with said bank and fear I may not have paid off my £100 overdraft from 4 years ago... god only knows what charges have been incurred, eeek!

I am going to get in contact with the bank before replying to Telogram. I suspect this one in particular is not a scam, I have a very unusual name and they got it right... but I am fearful of the stories about the way this company operates :/

If I have unpaid debt I want to clear it, face the music I say.

phone call to say they had something to deliver and had two diferent addresses. Could I confirm the address.

my wife also recieved a call from these peoplt today, with them also asking about the neighbours identities.. my wife rightly said she didn't know them and put the phone down... (the names given for the neighbours was wrong,incidentally). my wife then phoned me to tell me, i put the number into google and "voila" this website appeared, stating many times the exact circumstances as this moring, to which phoned the company and warned them never to phone my family again, or i will report them to the police... cheers.

call from this number first thing.. when i called back it was an automated telegram service.. i hung up

Someone just called asking me (from 01252576376)to confirm my address but when I asked them why, they just hung up. Suspicious! Didn't anyone tell OFCOM or Police? Looks as if they've been doing it for a long time.

my dad rang me and said a company called telegram have been trying to get my information to update their details. I have not lived with my parents since I was a teenager about 14 years ago, so why ring them? I had no debts back then, not even a bank account, a job or any bills, so what would they want with me after all this time? Luckily I read these pages on this site before trying to contact them. And dad refused to give them any information about me. Another Scammer to be wary of.

THey called my next door neighbour and said they had an urgent telegram for my ex-partner and had they seen him. They have phoned my neighbour a few tiimes apparently.

got call from this number and one of my friend picked it  up as I am in India for past couple of months. THey won't give message to ma friend. Just wanna know where is this call from. My reference number was said to be 903j79

This company have called my neighbour, my own home telephone number and sent 'legal' letters for a person I have never heard of to my address.  I have telephoned the company on numerous occassions to inform them I do not know this person they are looking for.
If I receive one more correspondence from them I am consulting my solicitors.  Ignore them or report them as I am going to do.

I had these people call today, using my maiden name and wanting me to confirm an address that i have never heard of. I have no idea how they got my number as i am not in the phone book, dont have any debt, no credit cards and the address they looked up is a relatives that i am staying with at the moment.
I hope i dont recieve anything else from them as from what i have read online they can get very pushy.

im abit concerned by what ive read, i had a missed call today (chose not to answer cos i didnt recognise the number)from this company so looked it up on google and resulted in this page. ive had letters from capquest and ive been paying them £20 a week. they say theyve taken over my debt from hsbc, which i do have a debt with hsbc.... so are they ligit?

neighbour had call from someone asking if my partner lived next door.  neighbour didn't confirm but took number - 01252 576376. Caller had accent, and didn't want to give company name and mumbled something like Phonogram.

whatever they want, and whoever they are, tactics like this are dubious if not illegal. If you owe money, the office of fair trading has recently announced that a creditor, or their agent, talking to neighbours about you, is against their guidelines and anyone doing it can be sanctioned, as happened recently to one company that was fined a substantial amount. Any credior is not allowed to pass any info about you to anyone else not authorised to hold that info, so telling your neighbour you owe money etc in a bid to shame you is definitely illegal. Don't reveal any info to anyone calling like this and remind them what they are doing is illegal.

Call asking if my neighbour living oppositewas called ***. , because they had an urgent message for her and couldn't contact her. Thinking this was a telegram, poss with bad news I was concerned. I said I thought that she may be the person opposite. They asked if I had seen her recently. I said no, because I'd been away for some time. Getting suspicious I checked this site. THE [***]!!!! How did they know my name, address and phone number? Can anyone out there advise on the legality of the last sentence, and the ethics of spying on your neighbours for a firm with such an obviously misleading name?

I have received two calls from this company trying to trace someone who lives in my street.  They say they are from a company called Telogram - and they try and confuse the issue by saying they have a message for a neighbour - They are really debt collectors from a company called Capquest.  This is an abuse of their debt collection licence.  They are not allowed to harass the neighbours of alleged debtors.  If they call you make sure you complain to the TPS (if registered) the OFT and Ofcom - if enough people complain they will lose their licence/be fined.

got call on my mobile over the last couple of days from this number and 01252576409. all i know is that it is an aldershot number but they left a message on my voicemail saying it was carol from telegram can i call back quoting ref number. not gonna do it dont owe anyone anything!
