- cairni got a text on my web and walk stick from this number looks like they wont be gettin far there!
- Tim"Tony", what you are doing is in contravention of the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive, an EU directive which makes it illegal for a company to post fake reviews or comments relating to their company.
- HThis number phoned me yesterday and left a very bizarre voicemail - it sounded like someone had dialled their mobile by mistake as there was background noise in a busy room and there was a man in the message saying something about sunglasses on some 'some woman' and that she'd looked stupid, then he laughed. When I commented to my partner that it sounded like somebody had sat on their mobile and dialled in error he quite rightly pointed out that this is a land line number. Needless to say having read others' comments upon typing the number into Google today I have added this iffy number to my block list and am still unsure as to who/why/how these people have my number.
- MandaThey keep calling! I have told them that I am happy with my phone and that I plan to just get a new sim but they are trying to convince me that they are going to send me a new one. After repeatedly telling them I was confused about who they are, they cut me off.....I haven't answered since but they just keep calling!!
Who fancies going to Watchdog about it! - JonaI keep recieving call claiming to be 3. very rude when they do actually speak. had a call at 4am from them this morning. lets go to watchdog. Im on o2 pay + go upgraded phone three weeks ago from car phone warehouse.
- Caller: Claiming to be 3
- MikeDo not deal with this company. They pretend to be your service provider offer you gifts that they fail to deliver and sign you up to new contracts when you may still have several months to run on your contract as has happened to my daughter. They will promise you the earth when you complain but still fail to deliver on those promises.
I am glad i have found this site as there is some superb threads which i am sure BBC watchdog will be interested in. Unfortunately for them i am not the type to let a company stiff my daughter so will make it my mission to raise awareness of this company throughout the internet/press and tv. Remeber that they are now requried to keep the recordings of the conversations if youve been misled or lied to report it to ofcom and trading standards.- Caller: frrefones select
- will replies to johny b goodShut up £5 you are full of it mate. Its a 01 number??????? You know a lot don't you
- gjthis company is usless they try 2 get u 2 buy a new contract in the last 3 months of yours then u get billed for both ha, they work for the 3 network if they phone u ask 2 be removed from their database then if they call again report them they will lie through their teeth 2 sell u a phone and the posts that say the company is good arent from stooges most are from their staff and owner of the company.

- Mr musaWe should all report them to offcom and tps they soon won't be phoning us or phoning anyone coz they won't have a job hahah
- Abbi| 1 replyI was, unfortunately, stupid enough to take out a contract with these people believing all of their lies such as; they will buy out my old 02 contract (which they didn't and I am now £180 out of pocket), I get free internet, they will not pass my number on to anyone else etc.
All lies.
I am nearly at the end of an 18month contract and can't wait til I get a different number. I originally took out my o2 contract with Phones4u who were the ones who gave my number to Free Phones Select. The same as Carphone Warehouse have to many of you.
My advice to anyone reading this is go straight to the networking store, eg o2, T-Mobile, Virgin, because all these other high street vendors will pass on your details without a moments thought.
I've been researching Free Phones Select for 18 months now and have heard nothing but people being ripped off and conned, all in similar ways. I am in the process of liasing with Trading Standards to get my money back and to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. If this has happened to you, I suggest you do the same thing.- Caller: Free Phones Select

- froggyUsed to work there. its like watching gorillas in the mist on x16 fast forward with all the chest thumping and grunting going on. sprinkle on top of that an odious amount of sweat, b.o., fake tan and lynx. never again.
- Lisa| 2 repliesI, too, worked here for a bit, and it was the most depressing time of my life. The company is now called Scarlet Comms and operate as a 'partner company' for the 3 network.
They get their customer info from 'various sources' including information made available via electoral roll, etc. I honestly don't know how to make the calls stop. Every time someone asked me to stop calling, I'd click the "Do not call" button, which is meant to stop all calls to that person forever, but apparently it doesn't?!
Don't be too hard on the callers, some of us were desperate for rent money!- Call type: Telemarketer
- Ronald David replies to Lisa| 1 replyClassic JASON ROSSER scam company antics. They always go bust, then re-hatch with a different name but with the same scam.

http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/red-ripper - JoThey phone regularly but always hang up as I answer. This is extremely annoying. Especially for disabled or older people who might have difficulty getting to the phone in the first place.
This practice has been outlawed by Ofcom so why do they continue - computer dialing many numbers at once and the operator only speaking to the person who answers first.
Another company who's handy at this 'trick' is edf. So many times I've answered the phone to a dead line, it's sooooooo frustrating. Like playing knock-down-ginger on the phone!
Rant over, sorry ;)- Caller: 01267226750

- Jo replies to Ronald DavidThanks for the link.
Very, very interesting.
Invaluable information particularly useful for anyone who's been ripped off and going to take it further.
Jo - SteveThey called me today saying they were solicitors saying that I had been mis-sold payment protection insurance on a loan. Load of nonsense, they knew nothing.
- TerryI got a call from this number this morning calling themselves Pro Active Legal trying to tell me that they were backed by the government and that my details had appeared on a list indicating that i was mis-sold PPI (loan protection) When I questioned which loan /credit card, I was told that they didn't have that information and that I should check back through my documents and then call them back??
No mention of my phone contact coming to an end!! How confusing.- Caller: Pro Active Legal
- MysteryLady replies to MattIf you are TPS registered and you have informed the company any preceeding calls are illegal and they can get into a lot of trouble - so you are well within your rights to report them.
- John WilsonI work for a claims management company, so when I had a call from this number I was quite shocked, I asked them why there cold calling people and lying to them, regarding they have been miss old ppi, I can only presume there a leads gathering company as your not allowed to cold people trying to gather clients for ppi claims.
Don't give them your details as they will just sell them on to the highest bidder and then your details will be abused.- Caller: Pro Active Legal

- JustinI just got a call from this number - fairly pushy saleman type insisting I'd probably been missold payment protection insurance and wouldn't even know if I had. Also had a silent call from this number 8 days ago.
