They kept calling me from lloyds. I read in the guardian that if you ask them to stop and they keep calling you and you complain enough they will pay you at least £300 compensation because they are worried about being sued in court because what they are doing can be argued that it is criminal harassment for which they can be sued for tens of thousands of pounds!

So:

1) asks them not to call you. Tell them you think it is harassment. ( record this)
2) keep a log of calls.
3) every time they call you make a complaint ( better in writing)
4) go through their complaints procedure and then if they don't settle go to the financial ombudsman service
5) wait for your payout amounting to no less than £300.

The whole process from first call to £300 payout should take no more than 12 weeks, involve a letter of complaint, a letter demanding compensation, and a letter to the fos. So three letters and 12 weeks for at least £300.  :)

This lot have been ringing me every day for weeks now. At first they used to ask my Date of Birth, which I always refused to give. I don't like being rude to people, but now I just hang up. Cannot be [***] to have the same conversation yet again. The ring my home number and then my mobile. On Sundays to, and this morning, on a Bank Holiday, which is even more suspicious.

So SICK of this number ringing me now, i've had it everyday now for the past 6 weeks, yesterday I had 7 missed calls from them! They rang me first thing yesterday morning at 9am, waking both me and my partner up! Why don't they just get the hint after 7 missed calls? Pain in the [***]. They ring me Monday to Friday, Saturday mornings, Sunday mornings and now on a bank holiday. I've even registered to a website thst claims to stop cold callers and marketing calls and its not stopped! At the end of my tether now.

Had two calls over the weekend from same person asking for someone who used to live here.

Presumably you all bank with Lloyds TSB, and given that this is their Collections team, I'd hazard a guess that you all owe them money! The information they're asking for is not information that can be used to access your accounts unless it's being done internally on the LTSB servers. Do us all a favour and stop complaining because you can't budget. Answer the calls, give them the information they need and stop pretending you're all so hard done-by!

I have been in to the bank and asked them to if they recognised the number and they didnt from any records, they then rung me yesterday and i told them that THEY WAS NOT FROM LLOYDS and they ARE NOT to ring this phone anymore and have not received a call today..i think the message got across.

Do you not read the posts?  Half of these people dont and never have banked with lloyds.

Caller sounded from Indian Call Centre (although Brighton Number), said she was calling from Lloyds TSB, asked for verification information, which I didn't give.  When I called Lloyds back on a known number, they didn't know anything about why I should have received such a call.  Only advice from the bank (5 years on from earlier postings on this site) was to do what I did - give nothing away and check with the bank. - What do the banks do to protect their customers?
Is this Lloyds not being joined up, nor security conscious, or is it a malicious 3rd party?

obviously it is someone who works for LLoyds but then passes on your details to criminals in a phishing type scam?

Hi, I phoned the real Lloyds contact centre today and gave them this number and they have told me, the number is just another person with an account with Lloyds tsb and does not work with the bank.

Do NOT give them any personal detail if the Bank was phoning you they would already have your detail.

I'm with H santos on this. I indeed was a lloyds customer and have paid off a loan early but their stupid system assumed I had been missing payments after the loan ended.

I too was getting calls from this number which is their outsourced collections department asking me to disclose information so they could verify who I was and then bully me into making more payments. There was no stopping them. I went into the branch and gave them a written notice which stated no more than " I deem your calls to be harrassment. Should you call me again I will send you a bill for £1000 for each call. All correspondance must be in writing only"

They called a few more times. I complained. They paid me £450 compensation within a week which makes me wonder if they would pay out more if pushed.

The law is quite clear. The Protection From harrassment Act 1997 states that it is a criminal offence to harrass someone and harassment is only what a "reasonably minded person" would deem to be harrassment. They don't have to be beating you up or stalking you. I think there are hundreds of reasonably minded people who have posted on this site who state that they feel harassed.

Llloyds know this to be the case and that is why they pay out so quickly for fear of being taken to court by someone who has the balls to do it. In the mean time, it is more profitable for them to be calling people and bullying them.

Don't take this [***] form this cowboy bank. Fight back.  :)

If this is the case then why the hell do the phone and you answer and they put the phone down on you time and time again I really don't think it's very professional of someone that wonts to try and surt things out I think it's rude and incersidaret I think it's a scam

keep getting calls from this number numerous times a day when i in to answer it the line just goes dead as though they have hung up it is getting annoying now

Have this number ring me several times a day, every single day.  I've repeatedly told them I don't know who they are and what they want, and as I am ex directory, can they stop ringing me.  A couple of hours, they ring again.  And again.  And again.  Total nuisance.

I had an answer phone message yesterday saying in an automated voice that I had a "Personal business matter" and a number to call, I called and it said "All calls are recorded etc" then all of a sudden without any talk of pressing "1" "2" or whatever the voice asked me for my credit card details!

Half the people on here are lying [***] nobs

Receiving nuisance calls on mobile and landline.
No one there when answered.
No messages left.
Don't know who or what about.
If it continues I will get you blocked.

I have NEVER had an account with Lloyds TSB & yet I'm still getting calls everyday from this number. I've asked them not to call everytime & have started making a log of calls as evidence. I always get an Indian voice on the other side (providing they don't hang up first!) & they are always rude.
In reply to "ANON", I repeat I have NEVER HAD AN ACCOUNT OF ANY KIND WITH LLOYDS & I do not have any debt either with any company.

I had the automated message last week and a missed call from them at 11am today (it is Sunday mind you). I am in minor debt but the automated message seemed pointless and most of these posts on here are only confirming fraud or misconduct. Luckily, I'll be in branch tomorrow so I'll check with them about it.

I'd advise others to do the same.

It is a bit strange how all these cases seem to stretch from as far as 2007.
