Report a phone call from 01313012940 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- GrahamAnother pain in the bum research company who will not stop calling my number.
- Caller: Unknown
- Call type: Survey
- Hazel| 3 repliesI have had a couple of calls from this number, when they say they are conducting a poll on the NHS. Both times I asked them where they had found my number, and they said some rubbish about "computer generated" - what a coincidence! If they were actually honest, and told me where they had my number from (I am ex-directory) I might just have answered some questions, cagily though cos I just do not trust them!
- Caller: "Market Research"
- FiThese people phoned at 8.45 pm on my partners phone. different name and number to mine but they asked for me by name. Where do they get their information from?
- HopefullyUseful replies to Hazel| 2 repliesHello Hazel,
Ipsos MORI has been commissioned by NHS East of England (http://www.eoe.nhs.uk/) to speak with people across the various Primary Care Trusts in their remit, in an attempt to get feedback on NHS services across the area. The questions which would be covered are if you have used the services in the last 12 months (inpatient/outpatient, dentist, GP etc.) and if so, asking you to rate them in terms of whether they have improved or not since the last time you used them.
In order to speak with a wide cross section of people across the relevant geographical area they will have the phone area codes (generally first five digits) and used a Random Digit Dialler to produce the numbers. There is a reasonably good description of RDD here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random_digit_dialing
If they have called you twice, it may be that the first time, after they explained the RDD system, the conclusion was that it was a bad time or you were on the way out the door etc. thus they have set (in this case, presumably, erroneously) for a call back at a different time. Also the fact that when they did call again they provided the same explaination for the number would hopefully suggest that they weren't making it up.
If as you state you have now told them you aren't interested, your number is deleted from the sample and they won't call back about this survey. There is of course a small chance that if they are running another survey in your area in the future your number may be generated again. If this ever happens in the future, ask to be put on the Do Not Contact database and they will be happy to ensure that it will never happen again.
Hope this explaination is of some help. - SickOf It replies to HopefullyUsefulRandomly generated my [***]. Bit of a coincidence that with 1 week of registering at a new GP practice and giving them my mobile number( do not have a landline) I am getting these nusiance calls at 7pm at night. The NHS and other goverment organisations give them our details - no point in confronting them, they will deny it, and I have no evidence but as I say- bit of a coincidence isnt it? Cheeky f***ers.
- Liz Folger| 1 replyI received a call today at 12.12-no one there
- Yorkshire LassHad a call from this number today - husband answered the phone and they wanted to carry out a 5 minute poll; he declined.
We are ex-directory but I realize that these calls are generated by random rather than deliberately calling - I have no idea whether they called him by name or not- Call type: Survey
- smiler replies to Liz Folgergot a call from this today claiming to be from orange asking about my mobile broadband. When I told him I also worked for Orange he said "Oh I don't hink we can call you ,sorry to have disturbed you"
- smiler replies to HopefullyUsefulIt must be VERY random. They called my mobile .....
- HarrassedThis call was made to my answer machine whilst I was out at 20:35. No answer was left.It makes me wonder how much these telephone marketing companies spend on wasted phone calls. It can't say much for the value of their goods compared to the money they want for them!
- Caller: Unknown
- KarlKeep getting this number calling, no idea who it is as they never leave a message.
- EmmaThey've called my mobile today (Saturday at 11.47am), and this is now the THIRD time they've called in two weeks. I don't answer because I don't answer unknown number calls, but this is getting ridiculous.
- ElleI have been called a few times by this offending company, I do not use my landline and will now keep the ringer turned off in future, as unwanted calls are very irritating especially as I thought I was ex-directory.
- Caller: 01313012940
- JasonJust had a call from this number, 01313012940 on 22/03/10 at 09:36Hrs, a market research company. Im registered with TPS and my number is EX Directory. Reported to TPS.
- Call type: Survey
- s peacockstop ring me
- RichardThis company called me weeks ago wanting to know about local leisure activities. The guy who spoke to me had such a strong accent I couldn't really understand him but they are Market research... My best advice to everyone on this forum is to buy a Call Id device & subscribe to Caller ID through your phone supplier - you can then choose not to pick up & be bothered by these people.
- Call type: Survey
- MortallisThis number has called me twice in last 24 hrs (yesterday being Sunday). Like many people I am XD/NC which means my number should not be divulged to anyone. I refuse to give it out when asked and cannot believe out of all the telephone numbers that can be generated, mine got 'randomly' picked twice in less than 24 hrs.
Thankfully, all my calls go to an answer machine but it is annoying just getting the calls. Does anyone actually take part in these surveys? Why would you give a load of personal information out to strangers?- Caller: Unknown
- JasonHas a call from this number, im ex-directory and signed with the TPS.
- Caller: ?
- Call type: Survey
- Paul OnyangoI have been called by this number four times the last week....Usually I don't pick their phone but now that I know who they are the will hear from me and I guess they will not call me ever again.
Paul - Ben replies to GhostOfDouWoo| 1 replyFirst off, when they called me originally I DID answer. I got a blank line. I assumed it was a robot and have been terminating the call immediately since.
Second, if I persistently hang up the call to my mobile immediately, after they've been phoning me up to five times a day for the last two weeks then THEY are the [***]. It's not a case of it being an inconvenience at this particular point, it's CLEARLY the case that I don't want to speak to them at all. You don't need to be psychic and you don't need it spelt out to you.
Don't be such a moron, spouting your inane rants at us. WE are the ones being harassed and YES, it IS harassment. No reasonable person likes being called constantly by the same number. No reasonable person feels the need to have to reply to every one of these companies. That is the whole point of the TPS. So there's a loophole that they can get through? There won't be for long because reasonable people do NOT want these calls.
Stop trolling boards like this making stupid statements and insulting remarks.
