Called twice today, search the number on "Big G" found this site, thanks guys we should ring MORI at the same time everyday for a month like about 1pm when its really busy that will shut down there phones lines for soem time. lol. seriously I hate these calls.

having worked for a market research company i know it can be very annoying to ppl who get these calls, my advice is not to hang up but to calmly, rationally say i am not interested in doing any research over the phone so please do not call me back and if this is a proper market research company it has to abide by market research rules and input that info so that the number will be blocked, it may be called back accidently as there is many number generating systems and these things happen unfortunately.  

mori i know as a good research company in terms of what it does and the latest they are open till is 9pm so thats hardly late.  

remember they arent trying to sell you something and a lot of projects behind the calls are actually worthwhile (you may not get paid but your answers are actually going to contribute to changes say as one of the others mentioned about local facilities - they want info on if you use them and maybe why or why not, what you would like them to have etc-so if you dont take part you can essentially say nothing about the local facilities as you were offered a chance to have a proper say about it and refused.)

one last comment...ppl say ye well my answer wont count for anything or the companies looking for that info arent going to do anything good with it, then i ask you why do they commission mori and other companies to do this sort of research costing sometimes millions of pounds?  im not saying its perfect and know ppl get annoyed with calls but at the same time how else do you suppose you get a random, unbiased, representative sample of the population without this sort of research.

not sure if this is mori's numbers but if you call it back if it is mori it will say you have been called by ipsos mori blah blah blah, i thought most of their numbers begin with 5 because of the area, but there are other call centres in england.  i would go to their website and make a complaint as you shouldnt be getting called more than once a day and not even that much and if you say you arent interested and not to be called back you shouldnt be called back.

Has called several times after sending me a letter requesting that I take part in a survey,on behalf of the police, about being a victim of or witness to crime. I was asked to return the letter if I was willing, I did not return it and do not know how they got my number as the police do not even have it.

We are a shop and we get plagued with cold calls. We are quite busy and having our time wasted by these calls is very annoying. We do, however, have caller display and ignore numbers that are not local or mobile. Mind you, you have to be able to put up with the phone ringing for ages........ This 01313012940 number has rung a few times over the last couple of days. By ignoring their call, we hope they will take us off their list.

just recieved a call asking for a forgein person - explained no body here of that name

Had several calls from this number during afternoon and evening including Easter Monday, I have caller id which helps and no message is left either,hopefully they will give up?

more loan companies????? wy can the obtain fone numbers from innocent people

Whenever I get a call from an unrecognised number (such as this), I never answer but Google it instead - which led me to this site.

Well to be honest i am sick and tired of then ringing my husbands phone all the time and sendin him text message wat the fuk is going on can some shoot them lol and we're from wales

This number rang this morning but then rang off. We have been bothered by market research companies in the past despite being ex-directory and registered under the Telephone Preference Service. In an election year can anyone make the despicable harrassment this represents a political issue?

Just like everyone else on this page I have been called by IPSOS MORI several times over the last week. Would like to now how they got hold of my number, as I never give it out unless it's essential!!

Called today at 18:06. I was out, but no message left.

Note: surveys are exempt from TPS barring, and "getting hold" of a number is easy: dial 01 followed by nine more digits. However, ex-directory numbers should not be called.

Called today - a Saturday in afternoon. There are supposed to be rules about when companies can call to start with.

This is a rogue research company as far as I know. I have told them in the past that we are registered under the Telephone Preference Service and that the person they were seeking did not live here. We are ex-directory so how they got the number in the first place I don't know.

When will Government act on this sort of vicious pestering and abuse of the telecomms system? The issue doesn't even seem to be on the agenda in an election year. What a sad, frightened put-upon nation we have become.

Isn't that a little counter-productive? use your brain next time and make an official request to have your number removed from the database
