Just read this on page 17 from a Mori worker:

"Maybe a bit of manners back wouldnt be a bad thing from time to time?"

Right back at you and your little friends, mate. Doesn't take much to be polite when you're harrassing the pants off the general public, eh? We've tried on countless occasions to explain carefully, calmly and very politely that we don't wish to be bombarded by your company and it doesn't stop your call centre buddies from being insulting and putting the phone down on US when they don't hear what they want to hear. Perhaps you could pass that on. Your bosses must be so proud of the work you people do. Great reflection of their company. You just have to read the hundreds of reviews of the calls people have received/experienced to date! The odds are - we're not the menaces in this. God help us and the next generation of graduates.

Had a go at explaining the harrassment thing in the last call (über politely, I'm told by my housemates) and the ickle call centre chappy didn't like it and put the phone down.

A message for all you little call centre people out there -- you might understand where we're all coming from if you put the phone down AFTER we've finished trying to respond to your inane drivel. And deal with your anger in therapy, yeah? We're not your mother, we don't care that if you hate your job, so maybe you could try leaving the aggression at the front door of the Ipsos Mori building? Just an idea.

Only just read your post and I'm keen to sign but it appears to have expired - can it be reactivated? Happy to reactivate if you're not able to? :)

Add me to this huge list of people who have no wish to participate in market research. They hung up on my answerphone during the week, then called again at the weekend...determined, or what?  I am also ex-directory and registered with TPS....what's the point of these services if they can't filter out MORI?

For the umpteenth time:     Being ex-directory simply means you in not in the phone directory.   It does not prevent calls, simply reduces them a little.         TPS state on their web site " As TPS registration only prevents marketing calls, organisations will still be able to call you for the purposes of genuine market research."   That is the sole point of TPS.  It is not there to block all unsolicited calls to your number.

Ipsos MORI as market researchers are free to call without reservation.     If you do not like such calls, tell them to stop.    If they fail to stop, direct your anger to finding their Directors' details and call them at home every time you get an unwanted call.   Choose a time which suits only yourself.  

No good complaining endlessly without being prepared to take some action on your own behalf.

My Sunday morning peace & quiet disturbed today by this number calling my landline.
Didn't answer it in time so 1471'd in case one of the kids was stuck/hurt/broke etc.
Didn't recognise the number so 'googled' instead of calling back - found this thread.

Keep getting calls from this number...i have started not to answer my phone.

To the 'thicko' (their terminology not mine) call centre worker from Ipsos Mori who claims:

'There are times when I cant discuss why I'm phoning to a person other than the one I wish to talk to. Its called data protection.'

Either you are a liar or you clearly do not understand The Data Protection Act. There is absolutely nothing in that act which prevents you telling the person who answers the phone that you wish to speak to X in order to undertake some market research. Nothing in that explanation relates to personal data and therefore can not be in breach of the act.

So either start telling the true or study a bit harder and learn what you are talking about!!

Oh, forgot to add some more advice to the highly educated call centre worker from Ipsos Mori.

There should be an apostrophe in 'cant' and also in 'its'.

Good luck in your studies, it would appear that you need it. If you would like to provide us with a telephone number, then perhaps we can ring you on the night before your next exam. Please remember to be polite when you answer.

called 15/08 - a Sunday!

I recieved a call from 01313012940 but the no rang off b4 I managed to answer it so I dunno what they were calling me for

Received a call from 0131 301 2940 at tea time on 24th Aug 2010. The phone range just once so I did not have time to answer it. I did 1471 to establish the number. I am also XD so how they got my number is beyond me?

Called by this number today, when I answered they rang off.

Someone rang me saying they were from MORI doing a survey about local authority services. Didn't participate.

called several times - i do not pick up as i didn't rcognise the number

3 calls, so far today. I work nights, so i knew no one i know would be phoning me at these times but it still woke me up and then had to check just in case by dialing 1471. If i get a fourth today they will be hearing some verbal abuse. :) I'm ex-diretory and TPS.

Someone called me today. I didn't answer. I only answer if I know someone is calling me. You can't be too careful these days can you? It might be a credit crunching, Islam type then what would happen to me? I'm 92 you know. Got all my own teeth and everything.

I too received a phone call from these rapscallions. As I am obese, ignorant and fond of a pointless rant on the internet I immediately googled the number and found this page. Well let me tell you this, I am FURIOUS at this phone call. I have used capitals to accentuate my rage properly so you can all understand my ANGER. I am going to write to Mr David Cameron of 10 Downing Street, London and request he closes this company down IMMEDIATELY. That should teach the little blighters, what?
