- CF| 2 repliesHad a call from these people which my wife answered. She fielded the call but said that the caller said he was from Ipsos Mori and that he had spoken to me the previous Tuesday - he hadn't, as I never take these calls and I had an alibi! So, he was either mistaken or was lying - unprofessional either way. They called again last night - Friday night for heaven's sake! - and I ignored it.
- Caller: Ipsos Mori?
- Dave| 1 replyThese people phoned me 4 days ago but I hung up when I realised that it was a fake survey scam. Since then they have phoned every day including 3 times today which is a Sunday! Fortunately I have a Panasonic phone which enables me to block their number.

- Ian| 7 repliesIf this is indeed Mori Ipsos then drop them an email to this address telephone@ipsos-mori.com ,detailing that you wish to be omitted from further market research calls and giving your telephone number and they will stop any future calls.I know it seems counter-intuitive giving over your number but it is right, and they don't want to disturb someone who has no interest in answering their questions.

- Carl| 4 repliesJust received a call from this number on a Sunday, not pleased! Weekend is my time with my family and I don't wish to be bothered by businesses.
I thought it rather rude of them not to leave a message so called the number back, and it seems to be Ipsos Mori, at least according to the recorded message that answered. If it is Ipsos Mori then it is not a 'fake survey scam', as suggested by Dave, but is a genuine survey company with whom I am registered and earn money from occasionally. As mentioned by others, they will remove you from their list if you ask them to. I am going to ask them to stop calling me on weekends!- Caller: Ipsos Mori

If you have asked any firm to refrain from calling you and they call again report them to the ICO and invoice them and make £££'s
* ICO www.ico.gov.uk
"In March we set up a survey www.snapsurveys.com/swh/surveylogin.asp?k=134674895144 on the ICO website so people can tell us about any unwanted texts and calls they have been receiving. So far we have received over 60,000 responses. We know the majority of these messages and calls have been made by companies who try to remain anonymous in the hope they can profit by selling personal information to claims management companies and other marketing organisations. We are using the information provided by the public to identify those responsible and fine them"
* Invoice them for wasting your time:
As reported by the BBC:
"He answered the caller's questions until he was eventually passed through to a UK operation, called PPI Claimline, and told them he wanted to be taken off their sales list.
"I said to them, you need to stop calling me and, I said, if you keep calling me, I'll charge you £10 a minute for my time to be talking to you," Mr Herman said, speaking to Radio 4's Money Box programme.
"I presumed that would be the end of it, but to my astonishment they called me again."
During the second call - which came only two days later - Mr Herman waited 19 and a half minutes to be put through to the UK operation, to confirm that it was the same company as before, and to explain that he was now charging for his time.
So, when he got off the phone, he sent an invoice for £195 to PPI Claimline.
At first, he got no response. So Mr Herman sent the invoice again, this time by recorded delivery. PPI Claimline then wrote to him.
The company said it itself did not cold call, but it purchased introductions from other marketing companies including AAC, a UK company based in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, which uses the overseas call centre that had first called Mr Herman and passed him on to PPI Claimline.
The company said there was no record of Mr Herman's number in its database or that of any of its partner companies.
But Mr Herman had recorded the phone calls. So, stepping up his consumer assertiveness another gear, he filed a case in the small claims court https://www.gov.uk/make-money-claim-online
And that seemed to do the trick and the case was settled before it went to court.
AAC, the company which had called Mr Herman on behalf of PPI Claimline, paid him £195 for his time and electricity, as well as his £25 court costs.

- t| 1 replyI got a call from this number, it was a genuine Student Survey call. They just asked me questions about my experience at the university I'm currently attending, and confirmed my name using the day and month of my birth (not year).
They DID NOT ask for any identifying important information. I'm sure it was a genuine call, and if it wasn't, they now know my opinion on the university and pretty much nothing else.
Call was at 14:30 on a Thursday, not too inconvenient for me but definitely inconvenient for others...- Caller: ipsos mori
