I have a private ex directory number. These people said they were from the BBC and needed the householder. I said we didn't take cold calls. VERY annoyed. We get hundreds of unsolicited calls and they should be illegal.

I got a call from these people asking about doing a survey. Don't help them or offer any information or they will put you on a suckers list and you will get more calls from them and others like them.

better still just have your company stop bothering people especially on  A SUNDAY!!

I sent a one line email to telephone@ipsos-mori.com asking them not to call my number. I got a polite email back apologising and saying they would put my number on their Do Not Call database and would never call me again.

I missed incoming call left a voice mail, logged as a missed call.
Can my number be removed so I don't receive any further calls.

Remove my telephone number from ALL  data bases please.

Says calling on behalf of a bank. So why doesn't the bank make the call itself? Dodgy.

They called me claiming they were from the BBC and itv and were doing a survey on what to have next on telly, they've just rung me again, I saved the number to be able to tell who it was without answering
Not happy

Just received yet another call from this number. This time they were claiming to be Natwest. I've now informed Natwest of scammers.
Nothing seems to stop these calls. Finding it hard to remain polite with cold callers, at least at the door you can shut it in their face, but slamming the phone doesn't feel it's enough to deter them!

Got a call from 01315614532 - He stated he was from the BBC and wanted to do a survey about what people in the UK watch on behalf of Sky, Virgin and Other tv companies. He wanted to send a TV box that would apparently monitor what everyone watches and pay us money to do so. Obviously hung up and blocked it. However, he then left a 44s call saying more about it, stating he'd call back later as well as tomorrow. Looks like ill be blocking more numbers!

A [***] Told me they was doing a survey from Leeds university well that's a new one .  But I never give out any info to any one ever.  haha

Some silver tongue [***] called plabo called me on this number, one thing led to another and he was at my door within the hour. After sucking his sweaty little walnut whip he somehow managed to impregnate me. He may of entered me I really couldn't tell. Anyhoo I digress, be careful of this number

However - sometimes I do not mind providing information to real survey companies - in the interests of improving the service provided by whoever-they-are-calling-on-behalf-of  - oops preposition at the end - bad form.  Sorry.  Should it be whomsoever? Who knows.

Called today at 3.45pm, asked to check my name, which I did not confirm. When instead I asked who they are they proceeded to say they represented HM Customs and Excise (in foreign accent). I told them no they were not, they are a scam and to go away then I ended the call and blocked the number

It is not a scam although the poor call quality and foreign accent and time of call that may confuse.
To me it sounded like "from Moray,Scotland"  when I asked them who was calling.

Like many respondents have already said,it is the well known poll company MORI who have genuinely been engaged by all of the various mentioned organisations.
They do answer questions truthfully and don't have to screen against the TPS register because it is a genuine survey. Not some slippery solar panel or glazing nuisance.

just rang me now and the woman said at first im after (name given but wrong person) and at first she said she was from NatWest, then she said she was from ipsos mori but this is a lie. I asked them to remove my number and if they do ring me again ive got a rather nice shock for them.

Just had a call from this number 0131 5614532 at 9pm on Thursday night. Caller said he was from Natwest, doing a survey and I just said I didn't have time & hung up.

They hung up on my answerphone.
That's as far as any of them will get.

You do realize that Ipsos Mori is an actual company with ties to the government right? I completed a course that was funded by the government and received a questionnaire about My time on it from her majesty's government and Ipsos Mori was one of the names associated with it. Ipsos Mori was also the company with the return address for it.
