This is indeed IPSOS MORI on a Sunday afternoon.  Lady said she was trying to get Londoner's opinions on matters. Was told it would take about 20 mins but am in the middle of something so she asked if it was ok to call back some other time, to which I said yes.  These are a genuine company, I do these surveys online too.  When asked why it wasn't online, she told me they wouldn't get a genuine cross-reference of people as some people aren't online (although I am, so where did she get my tel no if not from online means?!)  

I bet the sun is always shining on your planet but you must get your head out the sand to see it, these people are total scammers making vast amounts of money passing your details on to companies which are aware that cold calling or unsolicited contact is illegal unless you invited them to do so through  this so called IPSOS MORI this name has been abused and should be treated like scammers of which they are. If you want a genuine company use yougov.

Did not recognise number on caller Id screen so did not answer.  Not seen this one before today.

Got a call from the number, don't know how they got my number as I'm ex-directory and a tps. Did not listen to the message just hung up. These people are so annoying.

Received a call from 01315614532 purporting to be from a Mori poll. asked her how she obtained the number and she replied it was from a 'random selection of numbers'. As I am ex-directory I was inclined not to believe her !!!
Told her I was not interested, but she had hung up by then..............

Exactly the same as me. Waste of time and annoying.....................

Don't care if they are genuine or not, I do not want unsolicited calls.

I received a call from this number this morning which I listened to the whole of the outgoing message and then the caller hung up. Having a Panasonic phone I called it Pest and barred it. 6 hours later they phoned again to pay to listen to the engaged tone and without disturbing me further. I have read most of the submissions made to this site and I am grateful for your research and contributions. I believe that until we make them pay for every call they make and give them no answer they will not stop. I set the number of rings to two and this allows my phone with talking caller id to tell me all I need to know without me doing anything. My caller list of the last 50 numbers called used only cover the previous 12 days until I did this. I it now covers more than 40 days and it is increasing.

i got a call from this number - didn't answer because i didn't recognise the area code, found out 01315 is Edinburgh and I know no-body from Edinburgh so if the call again I will block them

This is Ipsos/Mori, who are a legitimate Market Research company.  Unfortunately for us the Researcers are trained to keep 'phoning until they get an answer, so ignoring the calls doesn't stop them.  If you answer the call and tell them not to call again, this only stops calls from the Researchers for a particular survey. To stop all calls from them you need to go to their website and ask them to remove your details from all their data bases.

The one thing they do not like is their Directors being called at home and interrupted just as they interrupt us.      If you really do not want these calls find their Directors details.

Better still, get the Directors phone number, then wait til  you're called again by one of these people, then say 'can you ring me back on this number . . . .' and give them the Directors number.

Sounded like a genuine survey (very rare) although they didn't identify themselves, apologised and hung up when I indicated I wasn't age 16-35 and Ipsos-Mori has an Edinburgh office (0131 code) so probably authentic.

Ringing 3 or so times a day and up to 20:20hrs each day
I didn't answer so they finally left a message.
Said who they were,- Good
Used a wrong name for me,- Bad
Said it was about a survey-Good
Said they had written to me a couple of weeks before- Bad as  they had not
Said the survey ended the next day and could I ring back-Bad why should I pay
They have rung again the following 3 days (even after 8pm) - Bad

Oh and since I never tick/untick boxes for further contact I think my next move should be a letter of complaint to both TPS and Mori

Call on mobile (which I rarely use)  - conducting a survey. I told them not interested.

From IPSOS Mori website (https://www.ipsos-mori.com/contactus/approachedbyus/telephone.aspx):

"If we have called you, and you wish to prevent any further calls, please email telephone@ipsos-mori.com providing your contact telephone number."

My experience is that this DOES work, not only on random-generated calls but also to block follow-up research (e.g. when you have cancelled a utility, the followup is often outsourced to such a company).

haha. this was great. they keep on calling me daily for a week now.

Just had a call from these 4 days in a row.. The number they are calling is a business call out phone which obviously I think I'm being called out!

Emailed them and hopefully this will stop them.
