- veritas2020| 5 repliesThis is a legitimate survey company, ipsos mori. if you don't want to take part, just say so. No need for silly histrionics - save that for the real scammers out there!
- Caller: ipsos mori
- Call type: Survey
- Sunny Suffolk replies to veritas2020It's Cold calling. No need for histrionics or anything else. Calmly decline and put 'phone down. Not interested in any 'phone calls that ask questions or surveys. Got better things to do. Will always get "cold shoulder" from me. Just not interested and these calls are no use to anyone and should be blocked.
- Wisgi replies to veritas2020| 1 replyIf this company is legitimate, then why do they consistently call old and vulnerable people? Many of which are registered with TPS. While the company may well be legitimate with regards the law they have no ethics as to whom they call or the after effects caused. You really do not have anyone’s interest at heart just another annoying form of SCAM. It is about time the whole issue was closed down, I can’t wait for BT to bring in their 1572 service in the mean time I recommend call blocking phones.
- Wisgi replies to Frustrated ex employee| 2 repliesIf you want to do a survey find another way just stop phoning me I'm on TPS for a reason!!!!!
- Fool u r replies to WisgiTPS does NOT cover "surveys", just telemarketing & cold calls from UK based reputable companies. Read what they can do BEFORE making silly comments showing your lack of knowledge or research.
Even tho a call may appear to be from the UK, 020 3, 0800, 084 or 087 anything etc does not always mean the caller is located in UK, more often they are leased lines, permitted by the UK Regulator, Ofcom, for reasons known only to them, the useless bunch of civil servants that they must be (imo).
These lines are often rented from overseas, particularly Indian sub continent or old Commonwealth countries, like Ghana, Nigeria etc where English is widely spoken (after a fashion) but there is endemic corruption, working conditions are poor and poverty is rife, leading to a cowed workforce that does what it is told at our expense, when their scams actually work. As obviously they must, or they wouldn't be so persistent and voluminous, as it appears from comments on just this website alone.
Hope everyone had a good weekend. - 12dIpsos Mori describe how to stop calls from them at https://www.ipsos-mori.com/contactus/approachedbyus/telephone.aspx
- T.DhaliwalThis number calls me every day, very annoying. Please can you stop it
- Claire replies to WisgiBecause the numbers are RANDOMLY GENERATED. I have worked for this company and all they do is opinion polls/surveys. Some of which are government commissioned and pretty important for research purposes. They have no idea who is on the other end of the phone because by randomly dialling you get a large and unbiased sample for the research. It's all anonymous. All you have to do is pick up the phone once and say "no thank you, I'm not interested" and you'll be put down as a refusal which means you won't be called again. There's no need to be so dramatic and mad about it. If you don't ever answer, or you pick up and say "i'm busy", that isn't a "no I am not interested" so they will keep calling because they aren't allowed to discount you until you say NO in crystal clear terms.
- Claire replies to WisgiPlus, if you had bothered to read the small print of the terms and conditions of the TPS you would see that it only covers sales calls. Research calls are not covered, IPSOS is allowed to call whomever they want, whatever list they happen to be on, because research is important for mapping societal trends and the law recognises that. Ask to be taken off the call list, if you get an unprofessional employee who hasn't taken you off and you keep getting calls, ask to speak to a supervisor and request they place you on the do not call database - they put your number into the database and your number will never be randomly generated by the company again.
- Claire replies to Charles Dickens| 1 replyTPS only blocks SALES calls. NOT market research calls. If you don't answer, they will continue to call. Pick up, say no thanks i'm not interested, please take me off your list and the calls will stop.
- KateI received a call from this number purporting the be from Ipsos Mori market research. I advised the caller that our number was TPS registered. He said that TPS registration would not prevent this type of call and tried to continue with his script. I asked him to respect my decision but was quite insistent. I advised him at least twice that I was going to terminate the call.

- Kate replies to ClaireTPS covers sales and marketing calls. The surveys and opinions contribute to marketing and quite often result in the caller trying to sell something
- NinaI got a call saying he was doing a survey and wanted my opinion on what has been happening in the news lately. The man insisted someone phoned my number yesterday but no one did.
