I have had my insurance with swinton for over 10yrs+no complaints,but recently i keep getting these calls from them+its all recorded rubbish,check your data ive been a policyholder with you for over 10yrs but may leave now cos phone calls really waz me off

Call centre battery hen: "Thank you for taking out your home insurance with Swinton. We've got a great new product. Are we ok to run it by you?"

Me: "Not really. I don't recall giving consent to receiving marketing calls."

Call centre battery hen: "Oh. Did you check the box on the online .. er.. did you buy your policy online?"

Me: "No, I bought it in person at one of your branches. I didn't give consent to marketing so something's gone wrong somewhere along the line. Can you take care of that?"

Call centre battery hen: "Ok, I'll take you off the list, then."


Result. You just need to know how to handle these people.

I didnt know who called me so googled the number.  I have just looked at Car Insurance this morning, not impressed if there calling me already and I ticked the box for no contact.

I am already on a list for not getting telephone spam... looks like it doesn't work as after entering my details on go.compare web site I have now had 4 phone calls from Insurance I didn't want....

Tried 01274 838272 but kept ringing.
Then tried 0800 138 2412 and got through straight away, but was told this is for incoming calls and I should phone 01274 838200.
Phoned 01274 838200 and my telephone number was removed from the Swinton computer.

This number has been trying really hard to reach me over the last couple of weeks, but never when I'm in. I've never used gocompare.dot or any of the other price comparison sites mentioned, but I do have a household policy with Swinton.

Similar to everyone else, I've recently used the price comparison websites for car insurance quotes and now get these calls.

im with swinton for car insurance, rang on this number to sell me accidental death protection.

used the compare the market and confused.com websites today and have been pestered with calls from this and an 0845 number, although I ticked the box saying don't pass my details on to third parties - never again will I use the websites. Can only be thankful I didn't give my mobile number.I don't find the meerkat Alexander so amusing now...........just a pain

I too started receiving calls from this number the day after I used "confused.com" to find new car insurance. I rang them back and they gave a number - 01274 838272 - to ring to decline any further calls. That number is out of service! I shall be very careful about typing my contacr number on websites in future.

Just rang 08451683770 and got a very helpful chap who said he would ensure I received no further calls. He did say that if the insurance quote from them was inb the top three then they automatically ring even if you have ticked the "no marketing calls" box.

I also can confirm that these nusiance calls are from compare the market.com and as a resusult I shall not be using the service again, niether shall i recomend it to anyone else, in fact i shall be telling themto avoid it. Compare the meerkat is of more use!!!!!!!!!

When using compare websites I aways type my tel number in as 01234567894 or 00000000000 but this year I took out my policy with Swinton so I guess thats why I keep getting these calls.  It cant be worth their while using marketing companies like this as they must loose more customers than they gain

This number rings every day.  I have Googled it and it turns out to be a Harrogate area code!  Surely they would of got the message by now and would of given up ringing me. I am TPS registered so they are breaking the law by ringing my number, as obviously its for marketing purposes!

If this is swinton like this site says

dose this mean you are in breach of contact.

Keep getting calls from this number - when I answer phone nobody there.

Will take my business away from Swinton if this continues.

I do not understand the nonsense on here, if you phone the number they let you know it is swinton and give you an opportunity to phone another number to cancel if you do not wish to recieve another call. Get over it losers.
