Just had a silent call from this number. Whatever they're selling I don't want it.

I don't even live in the UK, I haven't been on gocompare for UK car insurance quotes (why would I insure a car in the UK when I live in Greece?).

Heaven knows how they got my numbers - they've called in my Greek mobile number (yes, Greek mobile - you'd think there's a clue there somewhere.......) and my Skype In which is a UK landline number.

Having read these posts, I didn't even bother to try the 01274 number.  Head office is in Manchester so I called there and got a switchboard number from them: 061 236 1222.  Called it, asked for customer service and got reasonable sounding bloke who told me my numbers would be removed from system.

Time will tell.... if I don't post again, you'll know it's worked.

Keep getting annoying calls from this no with no one on the other end.

Since taking out house insurance with Swinton recently, we receive 3 or 4 silent calls from this number every week. Ofcom have a form on their website for reporting silent calls, but whether they bother to follow it up is another matter. Given the number of nuisance calls from Swinton noted on this site, they should surely investigate them.

At renewal time I'll be giving Swinton a wide berth due to these practices.

Not heard from them a while must be bored.

I have had numerous nuisance calls from this number at all times of the day and night and find them disturbing and threatening and want them to stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just received a call from this number. First time in a while. I do have insurance through them but only my broker office has my number as far as I'm aware, since I'm ex-directory.

Anyway, the number they give out for one to ring, if one wishes to 'no longer receive such calls' (er, Swinton, I for one, opted out of these calls) is: 01274 838111. Good luck.

keeps ringing me and no one is there

ive put my CV on jobsite and monster... my mobile number also. now i get a missed call from this number. i dont own a car so it cannot be insurance company...

01422 249611 is swinton insurance.  When you call them back a message tells you to dial 01274 838111 and says you can call to remove your phone details from their database.  Which I have - very annoying!!

My wife has been receiving calls from this number, SWINTON COLONADE. Do you have ID Fraud Protection was asked?  The wife said husband deals with this.  Oh! never mind we will send you details out in the post.  You haven't got my details, my wife replied.  Oh yes we have, we will take out the 1st direct debit payment in about 7 days.  The caller did say you have 14 days to cancel the insurance as per consumer credit act.  Now let me tell you British Gas did a similar thing last  last year,  they contacted me regards HomeCare insurance.  It was about this time of year coming up to Christmas, when you have other things on your mind you know and hey presto, I completely forgot about this HomeCare and ended up with a insurance policy i did not want. Surely there must be a law to stop this sort of selling over the phone.

This will be the last time i ever get my house insurance with swinton what a joke i am sick of them ringing to try and sell me other policys, IF I WANTED THEM I WOULD RING YOU   I have asked for them to stop calling but still they continue at 8PM.

These guys have been calling constantly for the last month. I just let the answer phone get it or pick up and give them the silent treatment.

It's an insurance company, of which I never signed up for any.. Typical...

I got a call from this number - since majority of people are saying its swinton (through comparison websites) - I highly doubt it since I haven't signed up for any..

Unless someone used a fake number.
