I got a call from this number - since majority of people are saying its swinton (through comparison websites) - I highly doubt it since I haven't signed up for any..

Unless someone used a fake number.

Don't put your real number on comparison sights. To get the quote use the first part of your number and then zeros - usually works. Also use false DOB and name. If you like the quote purchase on another e-mail address and give your details then.

Silent calls messages left on answer phone.... every day this week!

They say that they are Swinton ... I have had my car insurance for 3 years with them, they are now ringing people up trying to sell you personal insurance ... They say it's free !!! ... To anyone with car insurance ... I said that if it is free just add it to my policy (but they wont) ... in stead they want to know all my personal details inc wife / kids ... I told them that if they were ''really Swinton'' then they would already have my details. I think that it is just a call centre trying their luck ..... So I said no thank you and put the phone down.

Also had a number of missed calls and 1 answered one from this number.  Trying to sell additional insurance with Swinton.  Got as far as asking for bank details and refused to give this as if it was genuine Swinton already have our information and we can buy in the shop not over the phone.

Have complained to our local agent.

Must have been from one of the comparison websites then.

Said they were Swinton and as a reward for having a policy already they would give me free accidental death insurance. When he started asking for details I declined his kind offer.

Multiple calls from this number over a week period. This is Swinton Insurance trying hard sell on fraud protection insurance, have insurance with this company but will now be cancelling,because if they do it once.......not very clever really as this is a very efficent way to lose buisness!

Got a call from Swinton Insurance trying to sell me - guess what the industry scam/hard push of the last year or so - Personal Accident Cover.  Did '1471' and it was 01422249611.
I'm on TPS as well as some of you but as I bought house insurance from them a year or so ago they may have a 'get-out'?

Just got home insurance cover from Gocompare and within 10 mins this number called me. its so annoying.

get calls all times during day and evening - I don't answer them

Swinton Insurance again !!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have asked four times for my number to be removed from their marketing list, yeah sure..........

I'm regularly receiving calls from this number. When answered the line goes dead. This is harassment.

Called the number today after getting silent calls for over 2 weeks.  Got a recorded message telling me to call 01274 838111 (a Bradford number) to get my name removed.  Called that number (it is Swinton), he's taken my number off their marketing calls list (so he claims).  Wait and see if I get any more now!

Just got phone call from this number, thanking me for taking out swinton insurance............ errr no I didn;t.  I did apply for a quote through the web, when I tried to take the policy out via a local branch, the insurer could not guarantee the quote for 3 working days, 'due to a backlog at insurers end'  As I had just purchased a second hand car at the time, and with police checks being the way they are, I declined to wait that long, and went with swift cover instead.

So no I dont have any policy with swinton.  However, they said as a new customer they wanted to offer me the chance to take up their accidental death benefit, which is free until the 17th June and £17.99 per month after that.  I did point out that I never got past the quote phase with the swinton, but she carried on regardless.

Have declined the offer as even though it is apparently free they want my bank details now!!!!!  No chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had this number call me, nobody there. Returned the call and was given another automated number, telling me that the customer services team does not start work until 13.00 hours????/

As above called 01274 838111 to get my number taken off their marketing calls list (they were perfectly pleasant about it).

I've had car/house insurance with Swinton's for over 10 years and not had a problem with them until the last year or so when they started ringing me to try sell personal insurance etc. Also rather than sending a written renewal quote they now phone and give you a hard sell to get you to renew there and then before you can compare it with other quotes.

Needless to say who ever came up with the marvellous new marketing strategy has just lost themselves another long term customer.

Two days later and I get another call from Swinton's so phoning 01274 838111 doesn't seem to work.
