frequently get calls from this number and i consider it harassment!

Got my first call to my mobile from this number on Friday afternoon.  Called from home phone (using 141) later that evening after a few glasses of wine hoping to rant at someone and was disappointed to get the answerphone message saying I was called today by Swinton Colonnade and they would call me back soon.  To decline further calls I could dial 01274 838 272.  Decided not to.  

However, I received another call this afternoon but again no-one on the other end.  Applied for car insurance online two months ago using all the comparison sites so don't know which to blame!  Today I called 01274 838272 twice but no answer.  Checked www.saynoto0870.com for alternative numbers and it suggested 0161 6152000 - called but no answer.  

Tried the other number – 0161 2361222 – and was put through to a disinterested receptionist on a noisy line who put me on hold for 7 minutes before I spoke to someone in their Customer Relations Dept.  He said it would be no problem to have my number removed and asked me to confirm the number.  I did this but gave a (slightly) false name.  This means that if necessary they can confirm the details they already hold assuming they merely misheard me, whereas I will know that any calls to my mobile asking to speak to the other name are a direct result of my request to be removed and I will therefore lodge a complaint.

Received a further silent call within a minute of ending the call, which I presume to be a coincidence.  I have had a similar problem once before and know that they usually cite a 24-hour period before they can assure the number is removed.

I have never used any insurance websites, do not have a car, have never asked for any quotes, but I got a missed call from that number. I dont give my number out!

Gocompare, swinton, me too! I will not insure with pester powerdialler callers. EVER.

I keep getting dead air when I answer calls from 01422 249611 (I've had at least 5 of these - they are very annoying). When I called the number back it was Swinton (I do have a policy with them) and of course no one answered but a recorded message says that if you don't want to receive calls you should ring 01274838272 to take your name off their list. So I rang that number and of course yet again no one answered but you have to leave your phone number on their answering machine and they say that they will endeavour to remove your number from their list by the next working day. We'll see... But a very annoying process because I really wanted to speak with someone and complain about the calls!

I used car insurance comparisoon sites about 2 months ago and chose Swinton so judging from the other messages thye must be behind the 5 missed calls today!

This number calls regularly, but hangs up when I speak.  Turns out to be Swinton Insurance.
I don't speak now when I pick up the phone - I wait 10 seconds for them to speak.  Needless to say, they don't, so I hang up!
Who will get fed up first?

I also received a call from this number a day after using a comparison site for car insurance!!

Will be putting it on the block list i think!!

i recieved this call as well and it was from Swinton selling personal accident insurance, very good premium and im glad to see that other people have recieved it and said its swinton as i was afraid it might be a premium number

I am getting 2 or 3 calls (which i don not answer) every day from this company with whom i have car insurance. Its really getting on my nerves.

as soon as i entered my details on swinton website after looking for a quote they wre ringing me not answered them though i only wanted to have a look

I have missed call from this number, if it's an insurance sales line as appears to be the case.
I want these to cease, IF WANT INSURANCE QUOTES I WILL MAKE CONTACT.

They pause to hear you speak then put the phone down, it appears to Swinton Insurance, how very very unprofessional, imagine what the rest of thier service must be like if this is a taste of it!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can call them on 01274 838 272 and tell them they are a bunch of pricks and stop calling me. But you might stand more chance of the Pope answering your call thean actually getting through on this line.

I just cancelled my insurance policy with Swinton as I am sick of being badgered by these idiots and having requested they stop calling me 3 times.

just rang up the number for Mark Hallam Head of Marketing for Swinton who stated back in August "I and am concerned by your recent experiences. Please can you call me on 0161 236 1222 so that I can investigate your complaint personally"

Just rang this number and got passed to a bloke who stated that they weren't guilty but the company THEY PAY to do the telesales is at fault and that I should ring them, no why should I it is Swinton who has paid this company and is responsible for their actions, he wouldn't even take my mobile number.

Ring Mark up and give them grief !!!

Keep getting calls from this number to my mobile and it's driving me mad, when I answer I get "dead air" Finally got a "person" on the other end this morning from a foreign call centre who could not even pronounce my name and proceeded to waffle on about insurance. I have now blocked this number and don't even know how they got my personal mobile number in the first place.
