Kingsgate Legal Assistance quay road Bridlington

Hi who is the NLA, and who are these guys. checked with SRA and the FSA and none of them seem to have legal permissions or are regulated by anyone to carry out this type of business

Sean Thankyou for your comment. NLA are not a regulatory body, it simply stands for National Legal Assistance. They were 2 Will Writing Companies (Legal Assistance 4 U Ltd T/A National Legal Assistance based in Newark, Nottinghamshire and Legal Assistance Ltd T/A National Legal Assistance based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire). These companies were run by Gerald Malcolm Barton & Joseph Graham Croft. They have now been closed down: http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/Lincolnsh ... tail/story.html

However, Mr Croft and other employees of the firms have set up various other Will Writing Companies. Kingsgate Legal Assistance in Bridlington is one of them, and others are named within this thread. None of these companies are regulated in anyway as sadly this industry is not required to be within the UK.

If you are looking for a Will Writer to deal with your estate and assets, you could use one that is regulated within the Institute of Professional Will Writers (IPW). Furthermore, you could go to a trusted Solicitor.

dont trust none of them on here, defo not express law in doncaster!! cos its run by andrew young, martin smith, and graham croft these used to work with gerry barton in gainsborough when it was minster legal services then saga, then national legal assistance which was all one big fat scam!!! andrew, martin then did a runner to doncaster and are still scamming poor old venerable people. they charge way over the going rate for a will trust etc so they can pay staff big wages with bonuses and they can have nice cars homes and holidays on them!!! so stay away

Anon Thankyou for your comments. You said last week that you would let all Readers know by the end of this week who Express Law Ltd are now members of. Would this be the Large National Organisation that you claim to be a part of to your clients? What is the name of this Organisation? Are you able to affirm the above details?

We also asked you why Express Law Ltd based in Armthorpe, Doncaster are no longer members of The Society of Will Writers (SWW). As you haven't replied, we can confirm that Express Law's membership from the SWW  has been REVOKED. This is due to the fact that Express Law were not complying with the Society's strict Code of Practice.

The advice given on the telephone from The Society of Will Writers to Clients of Express Law Ltd is to go to the Local Trading Standards.

Anon Thankyou for your comments. You, as a Telesales Operative, may not have claimed to be part of a large national organisation, however, we have it on good authority that the consultants that represent your company do claim this to clients.

Express Law's membership being REVOKED from the Society Of Will Writers is something that cannot be denied; this is not hearsay. Please feel free to ring them on 01522 687888 and make your own enquiry.

"Also do you know how easy it is to become a member of the society of will writers! It's a 4 week course that any one can do"  Well this is a reassuring to members of the public.

You call people out of the Telephone Directory (including TPS) and claim to be making an awareness call with regard to the Community Care Act and that all advice is free.

Why do you ask such personal questions on the phone? For example: Age, Marriage Status, Have you got a Will/Trust already, Are you mortgage free, Do you have any equity release. Surely you do not need to know all of this if you're only going to give free advice.

These questions appear that they would be asked to establish if they would be suitable for certain products that your company sell. Therefore you are touting for business and to call someone on the TPS is against the law.

"If we was doing wrong why have our firm been successful for so long? Why have trading standards not shut us down?" These were also the famous last words of the staff that were employed at Minster Legal Services (UK) Ltd, Legal Assistance Ltd T/A National Legal Assistance and Legal Assistance 4 U Ltd T/A National Legal Assistance.

We don't doubt that the Telesales Operatives are good hard working people, however, they may be unaware of what the Consultant's do/say in the clients homes and they may also be unaware of what the Legal Department produce. You, as a Telesales Operative, are only aware of what your Supervisor and Management tell you and what you find in your own research.

The facts are clear to see here, you have fabricated the truth and now that you have been corrected, you (like many others from your firm) wish to leave it be and run away. Or is it the case that you too have had your knuckles wrapped from you bosses? Due to the more clicking you do to come to this forum, the higher it gets ranked in search engines.

This forum has grown and is now, quite big, the word is getting out there. We, along with other posters, will continue to have our say and be persistent with our mission to Protect the Elderly and Vulnerable, with this and many more forums like it.

We assume that you haven't read all 77 pages of this forum, regarding the information on the Directors of Express Law (Martin Denis Smith & [John Louis Trotter - now resigned]) who previously worked for NLS Sheffield Limited who scammed £14 million out of franchises alone, who also both ran Wills & Trusts UK Limited which is now in compulsory liquidation and (Martin Denis Smith & Andrew Young) who ran and worked for Minster Legal Services (UK) Ltd which scammed £1.1 million from clients and has also been wound up by the High Court.

We have spoken to The Society of Will Writers, whom Express Law were members of until their recent membership was revoked for breaching their Code of Practice, and upon their advice, any/all clients of Express Law should go to The Trading Standards.

We are pleased to hear that you are happy with the service, you must be one of the few lucky ones.

As we said, we are pleased that you received a good service, we would expect nothing less when you pay above the odds. The fact that Express Law's membership has been revoked from The Society of Will Writers, rather recently, for breaching their Code of Practice, suggests that the people in question have not changed.
