These idiots are still at it. Calling with respect to an unpaid account and they don't even know your name, let alone your address. Best thing to do is keep them on the line, say "I'll just go and find the person you need to speak with" and wait until they hang up! Usually works for me.

same as the others- got a call they took my number and name then asked for address- I said why? He (Scottish Voice) said data protection. Sounded stroppy and think its dodgy. People who need to call you have information already so not need to ask for it. Also- if they refuse to say what the call is regarding that is just bloody stupid!

The company is Wescot Credit Services Limited and is currently under investigation for a variety of illegal activities. Demanding money with menaces, harassment, fraud. They seem to be involved in a whole host of very unpleasant activities. The current directors are Jonathan Andrew Graham and Paul Jenkins and the address for both appears to be THE MASH, THE MALTINGS, JARRATT STREET, HULL HU1 3HB

If you have any problems with this company write to both directors at the registered office with copies sent to their home address. Send the letters recorded delivery. In the letter you write make it clear to the directors that if you receive any further telephone calls from this company you will take the company and it's directors to court on an harassment charge.

I've had a few calls,I've just called them back and it is wescot debt collectors. Hope that helps people.

From Westcott. Automated voice asking me if I am who I am - press 1 for yes and 2 for no. When I pressed 1 for yes I was told to hang on for an agent to talk to me - so I hung up as I imagined they were charging me £25 a minute! I haven't had my phone bill so I don't know how much they charged me. I don't have any outstanding debts so if that is what they were calling about they were are bogus! So if other people are receiving calls from them claiming to be collecting on behalf of someone else - I would be very wary - they are obviously just calling people at random in the hope of finding someone with a debt!

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE NUMBER ABOVE CAN YOU TELL ME WHO IT IS.

buy a panasonic cordless phone you can bar the number and it does'nt ring anymore......only able to do this with caller display.

I'm getting fed up with number ringing me up the when I answer they hang I don't need this its getting as bad as poi companies

These MF's call and give this automated voice crap, they ring waking our baby middle of the day. Its so infuriating, these b's whether legit or scammers should be boiled down for glue.

I called this number back to discuss (but not the 0844 premium rate ring back number). I spoke to Westcott and naturally swore a bit first (later I apologised as I know its not 'her fault'). I told them the 'Mr Paul Davis' which was who their message was for is unknown to me and certainly doesn't live at my house. The Scottish girl on the phone seemed to appreciate my position, I told them their bloody calls with automated messages are waking our baby at regular intervals and to stop calling this number. My home number was issued to me by BT when we moved in, so I can imagine one possibility is the number was recycled from previous use and this used to be a Mr Paul Davis' number - maybe. Anyway Westcott said they'd deleted my home number from their system so we will see ... it SHOULD be the end of calls to me.

2 voice messages from this company asking for someone who doesn't live here. They identify themselves as Westcot, based in Hull. They gave a reference number and a callback number of 0844 891 1785. Never heard of them before these messages, the reference number is meaningless to us, and we've no intention on calling them back.

The caller rang me on 26 Feb 13 and said he was from a firm called Westcot and I noted his telephone number was 01482590502. He asked for me by name saying it concerned a personal matter and he asked me to confirm my post code, apparently intending to ask further questions which he said was for security purposes. I told the caller that I would not be buying anything and refused to give any further information since I did not know the person and could be providing information he did not already have.
The caller said he would write to me instead of phoning but he has not done so and I have heard nothing more from the firm (by 04 April 2013).
I have since learned that Westcot claims to be a debt collection agency but all my bills are paid and I have no outstanding debts which leads me to wonder if they are genuine.

Got a call from this number asked me to press 1 if not me but 2 if it was me although they gave my surname slightly wrong. Asked me to call back on this number but I won't don't know who they are so won't contact them

Your post very interesting, I've just had exactly the same call as you had - infact they didn't even get my surname right ! I don't know who these people are and I certainly won't be phoning them back!
