Firstly I would like to state that I honestly have nothing to do with any debt collection agency. From what I have read in the past a lot of the tactics used are atrocious and for many companies the word scum would be a gross understatement.

However, as much as I know many other people have had very bad experiences with these people, I feel it's only fair to add in my experience with them this afternoon...

I Had a call from this number on my mobile earlier and spoke to the guy on the other end, I was expecting the worst if I'm honest (I've only ever had dealings with one of these companies once due to a mistake cancelling a gym membership and it was an absolutely horrible experience!), but the guy I spoke to from Wescot was actually very helpful. They were calling me about a debt accrued due to a mistake by BT which I have refused to pay on common principle as it was their mistake and they have, in the past, promised that it would be dealt with their end. It seems that they have been less than truthful (yet again!) and the debt, such as it is, has been passed on to this debt collection agency. I explained the details of my previous dealings with BT and explained my reasons for not being willing to pay a penny of the outstanding balance. The guy listened to my explanation and said that the debt was most probably just automatically generated and that he would contact BT in order to sort this out. He also advised me on what to do should BT decide they wanted Wescot to continue to persue the debt (who to complain to, which official channels to go through etc...). In all, I have to say he was very helpful. As I said at the beginning, I don't condone in the slightest what these people do or their usual methods, but credit where it is due, my experience was actually helpful rather than the nightmare I expected it to be.

So what you guys are saying is this is some debt collecting agency? The only people I owe money to is Barclaycard and we came to an agreement about how I should pay since I can't afford the ammount they keep asking especially when it gets whiped out by the APR the following month so its not like its making any difference when I do pay!  These guys rang me at gone 2am in the morning, WTF? if this really is a debt collecting agency they need to learn NOT to ring people at stupid times of the day.  Besidse, I'd rather talk to Barclaycard, not them and don't see why Barclaycard contacted them after making a god damn agreement.  Also, I totally agree, if they don't have your details then they don't need to know them, they shouldn't even have your number and should learn to write an official letter rather than harass you on the phone.

they rang me asking for a mrs brown and i told them that no mrs brown ever lived at this number but they insisted that they had spoken to her at an earlier date on my number and i told them there was wrong they then put the phone down but for some reason the call did not disconect and i could not make a call for about 5 mins

some guy rang me and asked to speak to a guy with a pakistani name,i said theres no guy hear with that name,they ask where he was and is this the phone number.i say yeah it is but im WELSH and dont even sound as if im pakistani.they ring me about 4/5 times a week asking for this guy.i tell them dont call me again as he dont live here but they just dont listen

Had a few calls off these clowns, asked for my details, err no you phoned me and didnt say [***].

Told them I wanted deleted off their records as it was invasion of privacy. Filled report with offcom and suggest everyone does this when the call is not applicable.

A girl called Ann from Westcott Credit Services.
I told her that XXXXXXX   XXXX was not here has left the country but perhaps I could chat to her about XXXXXXX   XXXX after her work,
we could go for a drink and perhaps more.........

She was not keen and decided to end the call.

I expect she will call back looking for XXXXXXX   XXXX.

Its best to save the number on your mobile and dont pick up when they call. Eventually they stop after about a week

Got a call from them today, I confirmed my address as I thought it was from my bank, then they asked for a previous address, told them I dont have a previous address and they said sorry must have the wrong number and they put the phone down.  Never mentioned anything about a debt.

Called repeatedly over a period of several weeks. Often hangs up before connecting. We wer told our number would be taken off the list but not so.

Westcott are a debt collection agency! My details got passed onto them after I lost my job,became homeless & couldn't afford to pay the debt! The only have my phone number at present,as I have forgotten to tell them where I live..whoops! Oh well,now i've changed my bank details..I'm sure the letters will start again soon! Until I'm working again..they can kiss the back end of my bollocks!?..cos' I'm not paying them out of my paltry JSA payment & starving to death for them..plus I have nothing of value to seize,so bailiffs may as well save their petrol!?
What a bunch of blood sucking tossers! Hope they catch a terminal disease & die painfully soon! Will probably see them in hell!...goodbye cruel world!?..tee hee!?

Got a call from these people. Was a Scottish lady asking for my address, she told me it was a personal matter, that she was from Westcott and i needed to confirm my address, she would not tell me what her company was and when i wouldnt give my address to her she hung up! Super DODGY!!!
