Dear Mr. Downs
Further to our telephone conversation yesterday, I am anxious to ensure that the assets and funds of the Capita Oak members are protected as a matter of the utmost urgency. The police are involved as there are clearly multiple parties involved in this scam as the members have been defrauded, mis-sold a toxic, illiquid pension investment and embroiled in pension liberation fraud. I am copying this email to Stuart McElvine at Merseyside CID.
The facts are that Premier Pension Transfers of 31 Memorial Road, Worsley, Manchester were administering the pension transfers, but the various directors of Imperial Trustees do not seem to have done any due diligence to ensure the investments were properly, prudently and diversely spread. If 100% of the fund's assets are in Store First, this is clear negligence and in contravention of the obligations of a pension trustee. It is important to establish which of the various directors, including Christopher Payne, was responsible for making these investments. It certainly cannot have been Maria Orolfo since she was based in Dubai, was a nominee director in the employ of Europe Emirates, and her quoted UK address a derelict property.
The further facts are that the sponsoring employer is R. P. Medplant - a company in Cyprus which does not appear on the Cyprus Companies House register. Also, a loan was connected to the pension transfer, in clear contravention of tax law, through Thurlestone Finance. Of the numerous parties who have been involved in this scam, some have come forward and been openly cooperative in assisting me with my investigations. However, some have not and have avoided requests to make contact with me so that I can establish how and to what extent they were involved and responsible for the risks to the assets and the members funds. This includes Mr. Payne who has not returned my calls or responded to my requests to contact me. Perhaps you would be kind enough to ask him to email me at the earliest possible opportunity so that my investigations can move forwards with all speed.
I trust you will forgive me for stating that at this stage I am more than a little nervous about your instruction and involvement and the extent to which you will be able to act in the defrauded members' interests. Upon investigation, it has been discovered that your firm has been involved with the following schemes:

Perhaps you would be kind enough to elaborate on your involvement with this matter from the outset.

Has this firm replied and are they going to help? - Angie replies to John Wayne| 1 replyWe didn't get off to a good start, and it kind of went downhill from there. Mind you I didn't begin by having much confidence in an accountant who can't spell the word "auditor". After I put the phone down on him (twice) I was left with the feeling that the skeletons in his cupboard are rattling like kettle drums. Don't think we can count on him for any "help" - and anyway think he's more interested in hiding than helping.
- ANN replies to AngieDo you think that there is anyway we will be getting our funds back because by reading blog it seems very unlikely I have written and spoken to all the revelant people and it is quite a minefield I am puzzled who is accountable again thanks for Angies and Paul T help and input.
- Anonymous| 6 repliesIf the money invested is placed within self storage (commercial property) then this is an illiquid investment. However funds can be recovered upon sale of the said investment.
If you therefore wish to recover your funds then the investment has to be sold and funds placed back within the pension scheme so as you can transfer out.
If you don't mind me saying I can see some bad press on this forum and other blogs regarding Storefirst and it has to be said that this could most certainly impact upon potential resales and further investment. This will subsequently not help should you wish to recover yours or anyone else's investment. - Den replies to Anonymous| 3 repliesBut what is the alternative to bad press for store first? Whether we get our funds back or not and I am desperate along with the others to retrieve my money my financial future is very bleak without it
.These people need weeding out and taking to task and at least jailed for their part in this god awful theft. We haven't won this money in a syndicate it has been worked for ....years of hard work. I'm not going to sit back and let them take it without fighting and exposing them..Angie and Paul T have been fantastic..I'll do whatever is needed to help them help us - Karen replies to AnonymousWhy anonymous?
- Ann replies to Den| 2 repliesWell said den totally agree with what you said never realised it was going to be this hard really worried myself.
- Kema Nan| 2 repliesI think its about time the british government steped in and sorted this from happening. Thses pond life are wrecking havoc on tens of thousands of vulnerable people's pensions and life savings. Every person who has been scammed in anything from Land, wine, diamonds storage pods what ever including banks, should bombard the prime minister, leader of the oppostution. Every single member of parliment police commissioner's with , phone calls, e-mails and every kind of communication you can think of over and over again untill they act on your behalf
use twitter, facebook any and every kind of communcation to help get your money back and get these crimnials are brought to book..
start to make a real nuisances of your self even more then those scammers.
Start fighting back let the goverment know whos Boss.
DONT LET YOURSELF DOWN OR ANY ONE ELSE - Karen| 1 replyChristopher Payne now director of Imperial trust !
- den replies to KarenYep he is ..I think he's a big cheese in all this
- paul t replies to AnnWe will win....
- Andy 8a replies to Kema NanWell said to everyone. Especially as to the mechanics behind into why these transfers are able to be rubber stamped by the authorities eg HMRC, Pension Regulator. Its unbelievable !! Then they will no doubt hound you and say you owe them tax !
I have been in contact with the Regulator and Ombudsman for 10 months, phone up and send a letter every month to see if there has been any progress-- only to be told that they cant comment on an on going case, or that no progress has been made. Very disappointed in them, and they should be ashamed of themselves. Ive no doubt there has been more progress made here in two weeks than there has in those 10 months - Angie replies to Kema NanYou are absolutely right - all sorts of rubbish being promoted by the usual suspects. Worst one I came across recently was truffle trees! Trouble is, these people make lots of money out of these ventures which is why they keep doing it. Lets bombard the government - a good time to do it because the Cons, Labs and UPKIPs are all vying for victory next June so even if the current shambles don't do anything about it, their competitors will want to jump in and capitalise on it (i.e. the existing government's abject failure to sort it out).
- John Wayne replies to AnonymousDoes anyone know how easy it is to sell and liquidate this type of investment and is the market value at least the same as the book value?
I picked up on one point, you mention funds placed back within the pension. I assume the legal title will show that the storage units are already in the pension so there is nothing ''to go back'', it should already be there. I am probably nitpicking here, but wanted to make this point.
Now that it seems from this thread that a firm of accountants have taken control of the reins somehow, will the members be provided with
1. An up to date set of trustee accounts
2. A statement from the trustees about the accounts ( balance sheets and P and L accounts )
3. Individual statements, showing valuations
4. Valuations provided by professional independent third party
5. Confirmation of title on the land resgistry that the units are owned by the pension fund.
At the very least, I would expect the accountants to make contact with every member to update them on the current situation as a matter of some urgency. The bad press could affect the resale values, I agree with Anon. This needs bringing to a rapid conclusion and I see no reason why this cannot be done immediately. - den replies to AnnWe will get somewhere positive..just need to keep the pressure on...government and the thieves
- rob p replies to deni will call there when i get chance anyone got a machine gun lol
