    not important
how am i trying to result to a slanging match, you have all come on here to piss and moan instead of calling the company and finding a solution to your problems. why dont you do something about it instead of writing on a blog they will never read? yes im an ex employee of the company however i dont have a bad thing to say about them. the product works, its very well priced for what you get if you give it a chance and work with them instead of against them. nobody forced you to sign up, you are offered a genuine business opportunity, if u take it fair play give it time for work.

I'm glad I came on here and since the confederates in this scam are busy on here trying to peddle their useless wares then it shows us all how you all are!  Not much of an advert is it?

And since you've come on here with your crap I've made sure everybody knows to beware of your useless organisation.  Thanks, you've illustrated more clearly the nature of your rotten organisation.

get a grip people, I work at customer street and you all seem to think that we are blood suckers who prey on the vulnerable and take their money, I can 100% assure you that we do not act in this way, we are a reputable business with a very very good product, I work in front line sales - meaning i cold call people to promote the benefits of advertising with customer street, everyday i must speak with about 40 -70 people and I agree that it is not for everyone to advertise with us but it really does work ! we have a premium design team who sell an upgraded website design service to the existing customer base who have already bought the inital package - we sell a huge amount of upgraded websites - why would all these people choose to upgrade their websites with us if we were so bad! the country has been hit by the worst recession anyone has ever witnessed and we are the people ensuring that these businesses out there and getting exposure. type in any keyword into google and look at how well our customers sites and our directories perform e.g. roofer stockport - we have 4 listings on the first page of google, accountants rotherham 4 listings on the first page, general builder bristol 10 positions !!!! we take the whole page up for general builder bristol !!! this is amazing ! there are thousands of these types of results but I have just done these off the cuff, take a look. I know that some people do not like the way that the service is sold but we dont believe in paying for a catchy radio advert or for a television commercial because these are very expensive which would mean that our pricing would have to go up. A lot of people complaining on here do not even have services with ourselves - the ones that do only need to look at the tracking system we provide via your control panel to see the amazing results we deliver - I have worked here for some years now and the management do take extreme measures to ensure people who mis-sell are no longer working with us, dont tar us all with the same brush, I am a good seller and I always give the best advice i can to my customers and above all I am proud to work for a company that offers so much.

asked for my wife and said 'Do you do Hypnotherapy'. She does - but was not happy with the caller's tone of voice and said 'Tes' rather sharply and was immediately cut off! She could hear other voices in the background - like a call centre.

    Christos - December 15, 2009

Hi, I received a call today from this number. It was a lady called Sophie, claiming to be from BT. She was very sarcastic about me not wanting more clients –I am a psychotherapist.

I did not understand in the beginning what this was about and I said I have some availability, and then she kept on pressing me to sign on for some services today. She insisted that they had 208 people asking for psychotherapy in NW London, in the last month or so.

I suggested that she send me information that I could look at and think about and she kept on pushing me to get in front of the computer, so that she could show me. When it dawned to her that I am not ready to do this now, she wished me Merry Christmas and a lovely New Year in the way she would do it to her worse enemy, and hanged up!

    :-)

    Oh well…

Most of the people who have posted messages on here, are, in my honest opinion, absolute [***] sucking [***]. No wonder this country is in a recession when there are so many thick as pig [***] business owners who don't know their [***] from their elbow.

Here what i find really funny, google "electrician Birmingham" for the following results.

birminghamelectricians.vpweb.co.uk (position 6) cost to the owner pennies

krselectrical.com (position 7) cost to the owner, probably best part of 2k

A free site that advertises the business is ranking higher than a a really over expensive bt customer street site which in my opinion looks fairly [***].

It just shows you that they are [***], and not only do you have to spend 2k on a site they tie you in to pay £35.00 a month to be part of there low ranking search directorys,

there templates look [***] they are [***] dont go with them. i wasted about £600 with these tossers

Just had a call from these guys and googled the number to arrive here - a girl claimed that she was from BT and wanted to know if I wanted more hypnotherapy clients.  When I asked if she was selling advertising space she immediately hung up - they must be able to sense people who can see through them !

Just had this phone call as well - showed up as 01524 543400 on my phone but that number was constantly engaged when I called back. Woman called Lyndaey left message saying she was from BT and was looking for people who do what I do in the local area. She garbled a phone number twice but I could barely understand it and tried various combinations to no avail. Googled the original number and found this site. If this IS a kosher company then they should employ people with better telephone manner because it all sounds so rushed and unfeasible. Not a good way to do business. I shall block this number in future.

I've been being called by Lindsay from 'BT' for about a year now- I've never spoken to her- I'm not interested.  I was wondering why she hadn't given up until I read this site!
The number comes up 'unknown'.  She says she has 'local coaching clients' for me which is curious as I have a Skype number and have moved a number of times recently!
She says to call 01524 529000 and ask for Lindsay on extn. 1207.  I've complained to BT today and am posting this in case it helps those who google her details.

With respect, you're a salesman.  I doubt your honesty either, but if you honestly believe BT Customer Street represents a good deal for a small business, you need your bumps read.

Two months ago, I was approached by two companies with worryingly similar complaints against BT Customer Street.  Normally, I wouldn't entertain investigating either but I was so appalled by BT's underhanded and misleading tactics, I took both cases on.  The client took legal advice from an independent solicitor who advised him to drop the case and put it down to experience.  We advised him to ignore the solicitor and push ahead; we had a pretty solid case.

At 11AM today, the first client informed us that he had won his case and BT were refunding every penny (including £60 court costs).  This will now serve as extra evidence in the second case as I've no doubt that BT will (yet again) be forced to refund the money in full.  BT know they are in the wrong and it's disgusting that my client had to approach an independent consultant to bring this to light.

I don't doubt that BT's input had some impact on the results for "accountants rotherham" but you're way off the mark if you believe that a single link on ufindus, moreuk and smilelocal had any significant effect; it certainly doesn't result in a first page listing.  The "trade directories" are laughable to say the very least.  Cookie Cutter design, few visitors, duplicate content and riddled with adverts and vulnerable code... hardly a recipe for success!

When the money is refunded and the case is closed, I will publish the report used to win his case.  I'll make a note to post the link here for anyone else who feels let down by BT.

Sorry for the delay in replying to you.

Firstly, an update.  The first client has received the money and a confirmation letter which states the account is now closed.  The second client has since pushed ahead with their claim and BT are in the process of cancelling the account and refunding every penny.  The second case (unless BT have a change of heart) has not gone to court as the evidence from the preceding case was sufficient for BT to back down and agree to refund the second client.  It hasn't happened yet, but it's quite clear that the client will proceed with legal action if they renege on the agreement.

I cannot reveal any private case information (names, URLs etc) for obvious reasons, but I'm happy to outline the key points used to win the case.  An anonymised version of the case will be available shortly.

    Case Derivation:
No prospective leads or sales since implementation.
Very few impressions (views) each month.
Total CTR (click through rate) below 1% of total traffic.
BT unable to provide an explanation or assist in resolving the situation.
BT does not clearly specify how their achieve their aims with regards to driving trafic and increasing brand awareness.
No calls to the 0845 number provided for use with 118500.

    Summary:
Of the 4 "priority" positions promised, only 1 site prioritised the client's URL over other adverts of a similar nature.
The client is highly unlikely to be able to capitalize on the "independant exposure" due to the inherently restrictive nature of BT's SiteBuilder platform.
Future expansion / improvements would require significant investment and/or migration away from BT.
The "trade directory" sites offer no real benefit and will adversely impact upon the client's reputation.
The "guaranteed first page" listing is misleading as results aren't paginated (all results on one page).
The monthly statistics and those provided by "RapidStats" are misleading as they do not give enough accurate or usable information with which to base any alterations. (This has since been verbally confirmed by a Customer Street rep)

The full report (16 pages) contains a full breakdown of each point, explaining in detail why BT were unable to deliver on their promises.  I will update this thread shortly...

I was called by these people today and the woman first said I have to pay £425.00 pluss £99 a month. I said I am a one person business working from home & cant afford to risk that type of money, she then said she can do me a discount to £299.00. I said I cant afford that either, then brought it down to £199. I refused again & she would not take no for an answer & started to get stroppy,  she then said £99.00 now & more next week,I then realised this cant be BT   as they would not operate like this, so I said no I dont want it & started to hang up on her & she was still going on at me. Lets hope no-one gets roped into this hard selling teams tactics. I really felt Bullied & upset by the end of the call. I shall be looking out for the no. on my caller ID & wont answer it!
