you all obviously dont get the power of the internet do you.. because why the hell would anyone go onto a search engine like google to look for trade products and services??????  but every single one of you have looked this number up on google! get a grip please i know its the credit crunch and most of you are struggeling for work but please dont take that out on people that want to help.. if you are that tight that you cant invest 2 pound a day to put yourself infront of a 24 hr audience than i would stop now and go work in mac donnells.

bt customer rule obviously DOESN'T get why people use this site. Most of us are fcuked off with marketing and sales people using the phone to push their wares. That's the point. They break the rules and violate TPS databases. They just want to SELL and then you get uppity when we complain?

You have sold your soul - you get paid to call people who basically don't want to have their time wasted by you or your product. Trying to convince them that you have something they need. We don't. And soon, your company won't need you either because you company will die or will shed the workforce, if you can call it "work".

bt customer rule... please you fool, do not speak anymore i beg! you torture me with such base intelligence that you are not capable of even realizing this fact.

I'm assuming most folk on here (at least i hope) like myself run a successful business which produces a viable profit, I'm also assuming that most folk on here do not enjoy being peddled to from before mentioned challenged sales people that criticize hard working successful people from their hot shot call center cubicles.

I imagine that it is only a matter of time before Google and similar search engines decide to drop the relevance / importance of these type of directories and sandbox them....   ....and counting.

'Bt rules' thinks that we should all go and get a job at mac donnells. I can only assume that he means McDonalds. Bt rules probably couldn't get a job at McDonalds because he/she can't even spell their name. He/she has illustrated nicely the complete ignorance of the sort of people that take jobs with customer street. DO NOT listen to their completely ignorant nonsense.

Oh turdsteaks! I think I've been 'caught out' by these guys today, very pushy saleswoman called me over 40 minutes on the phone. I was a bit sceptical, but they showed me all these examples, and to be fair the domain names they have offered are quite good - but going on the advice here I am not going to hold my breath for outstanding results.

The affiliation with BT seems very woolly, to the point when I called BT proper, they had to go away and check for themselves!

Certainly wasn't made clear that I'd have to build my own websites. Been there, done that! I've not been very happy with google adwords, but I think this is going to be even worse.
Does a 'cooling-off' period apply to things like this?

I've only recently started my own business and can't afford to be wasting money!!

Any advice on 'opting out' of this would be appreciated (I've already contacted my C/Card company with my concerns!!)

Nick. I suggest you contact them almost immediately and tell them you've changed your mind. Get their fax number and send the same message there, then send a letter, registered mail with the same message. Give them no way of being able to say you didn't cancel. Before you do any of that cancel your card. Best of luck.

    Nick,

I'm fairly positive that there is a 7 day cooling off period for any service contract, check this out with Trading Standards, I know this applies to the building / landscape industry...

    good luck

received a call from this company out of the blue. i dont normally entertain sales calls but what was being offered sounded value for money as i already have a website but cant be found anywhere on the search engines and with the service being provided through BT (bt own customerstreet) actually gave me more peace of mind knowing who i was dealing with.
Two months down the line im getting regular enquiries and ive already made a return on my investment. This is from someone who has a package with customer street id definitely give them a thumbs up!

    BT Customer Street SCAM

when customer street sales person called us, he promised that we would be on the 1st page of google, showed us examples of companies which were taking up first 4 positions of google, because the were with them (he used examples of digger hire essex, hairdreser enfield, wheel clamping somewhere and one more which were all on the top positions of google more than 4 times)

and what do we really get? 2 rubbish websites from template, DYI engine optimisation, one of the websites is on 4th page of google, the other nowhere (as we were said google hasn't indexed it yet - and this is 2 months after we paid for customer street) not good for £299 + £60 every month...

    laughing my head off
LOL   found this page after a mate told me to have a look. It is a joke isn't it ???? .If not god help our country. let me explain , any business on here complaining about heavy sales tatics should be contacting BT customer street to poach the sales staff then they might have some work to go to instead of bickering on here like school kids.I have a salesman working for me and he is very pushy when it comes to cold calling hence his big pay cheque at the end of every month.Sometimes i listen into him and I nearly wet myself at some of the "adults" out there that can hardly string a word together without a swear word of some sort ( as some of the people typing in here )  are these business people ??   I hope not

    Dear laughing my head off,

Basically then, bullying and lying is good? And it's ok to pull the wool over the eyes of the not so intellectually gifted or those who are inexperienced in the internet?

    Thought so.

When your head does fall off ask your mate to replace it in it's normal position - can you guess that one? Do you work for BT Customer Streets by the way?

The story about the builder who is happy with customerstreets services-Niall, the sales guy on the phone to me was a Niall, I guess the success stories must be made up by customerstreet themselves. Now that does not surprise me!

I have been a customer with BT for just over 4 years and my customer street package has paid for itself on each of those 4 years (hence me continuing!). looking at the negative comments here ill be honest i was suprised as my salesman was both patient and helpful. I wanted a website, optimisation and extra business and got all three with extras.
I am not a member of staff for BT just a happy customer and i think its interesting the number of negative comments from companies who dont even use customer streets product, what a joke!

@ gregory richardson, shaun collins & all others of that ilk

    Why do you bother?

WHY would anyone who is HAPPY with a company google their phone number?

Just admit it...you work for BT Customer Street and are doing an unconvincing "damage limitation" exercise so stop wasting our time and insulting our intelligence

Cost £500.00..Ive had a few calls from this listing..They have been recently on the phone wishing to develop the site furthur, as customers were clicking and clicking off quickly..I must say if they can do me a web site with good optimization it would be good...still not decided what to do yet.!!

nem, i googled the company name as i like to keep up with the companies that i work with. Are you with customer street then? Its sad that nay sayers cant accept that maybe people have positive experiences and opinionms that differ from their own. Grow up.

I listened to one of their sales pitches last week but told them I was not interested as their prices are too high. I get calls from companies daily all saying that they will make me top of the searches on google and this is the most I have ever been quoted by any of them.

I already have a website and search engine optimisation is something that anyone with half decent internet knowledge along with guidance (free if you know where to look!) and a spare few hours is able to do so why bother forking out over £1000 per year for it? It's not in my list of priorties but it is something I will be doing myself in the near future for free and will give the same results, or hopefully better after reading other peoples comments on here

Just had them call me again today but I ignored the call, why would I have changed my mind 4 days later?

And please, to those employees of BT customer Street posting on here with the fake reviews you are not fooling anybody, you are just embarrassing yourselves trying to cover up your high prices, pressure sales, harrassment, poor product, etc

I had a missed call on my mobile from this number.  I always google numbers I dont recognise and this site came  up.  R1eading through the posts here I guess they got my number off Gumtree - had one or 2 dodgy emails via Gumtree also, so begining to think Gumtree is not such a great site to advertise on!

@ gregory richardson - you say you "googled the company name as i like to keep up with the companies that i work with"!

Really? Do you also Google the phone numbers of your electricity/gas supplier/s, your water supply company, your local authority, the Royal Mail and so on?

If you do, that's quite "unusual"...

Like I said, you employees of BT Customer Street are fooling no-one but yourselves...

I had the misfortune of another 3 calls today from one of your arrogamt, rude colleagues to both my company mobile phone and landline.

Do you lot get off on harrassing people that just want to be left alone and have asked you time and time again for 4 YEARS now to STOP CALLING?

You lot deserve all the abuse that people throw at you and more...instead of spending time writing your own reviews from made-up customers here, why don;t you THINK about what your doing and the effect it has on people and then you might UNDERSTAND why people say what they say about BT Customer Street.

Your company is the lowest of the low
