Look out for this one. Yes it a Manchester number thats a scam..... No one will call you on your moble and offer you money or a service. It always a scam. Beware.

Received calls from this No. on 7/2/11 & 8/2/11 Have no idea who this is, they do not leave any message and as I rarely give my Mob. No. out I would like to know how/why they have my details

im getting unwanted calls from 01614781190 its becomming a nuisance as they call me at least five times a day

These people call me 2 or 3 times a day but hang up when I answer

I got a phone call from this number asking for 'Mrs Diamond.' I go by the surname Diamond on the internet but not in real life so I don't know how they got that name... I would be 'Miss' anyway.

I have just had a call from that number and called back but it was just ringing....

They called me yesterday and I asked where they got my name and mobile number from as I do not give it out.  Said that he had it on a loan that I had taken out and that I was due some money back from the insurance.  Said that I had not ever taken a loan out in years and said that I was not interested and not to call me again.

Just received a call from this number, could tell it was a call centre (numerous chatting in background)
asked for a Mrs Charles? Just said it was a wrong number and they hung up. As previous posts do they ask for random surnames hoping to strike lucky?

These are cold calls.
Your number / contact details have been passed on from another company, possibly from credit cards, store cards etc and they are trying to sell you financial products.
As they tend to use an auto-dialer ( machine which dials several numbers at once ) you will sometimes get silence on the other end as the operator may have taken another call, and your call will be dropped.
You can either ignore the calls and not answer ( but all this will mean is that the machine will keep your number and keep attempting at later dates ) or answer the call and play stupid and pretend you have no idea who they are asking for. They will normally remove the details from the system as they are incorrect. Of course you can just tell them straight to stop calling and remove your details but this doesn't always work as you have now confirmed the contact details they have are correct and they may in turn pass onto another company etc etc.
I tend to save spam numbers under SPAM on my phone so I know not to answer when they keep calling, however if I'm able to take the call I normally will to shout abuse at them.

repetitive calls from number vis a vis credit, company called Claims Advisory Group, they claim mobile numbers provided by company called Aspire Money in London they maintain not proivided my number to anyone

Beware! When you call this firm back, after multiple cold calls, & confront them they still try & weedle info out of you, ie. Name, Postcode etc. They are selling the service of claiming back Payment Protection insurance premiums! Dont tell them anything; just give them your number & tell them to stop calling or you will report them to the Telephone Preference Service. Heres hoping that works!

Just had a call from this number. As we are just shutting up shop did not answer. Thanks to this website their number is now on our automatic ignore list, meaning the line just goes dead when they try and call. The call does not ring at our end and they have no opportunity to leave a message. I would advise all people who have this service available on their phones to use it, it's saved many cold calls and much wasted time.

I am getting calls from this number every couple of days twice a day but I just dont answer as I have no idea why they are calling me and after putting the number in and coming across this forum I am right not to answer!  Why do they persist?  How have they got my mobile no as it is a private number.....

received call from these asking had I seen the news and how I was entitled as refund for payment protection on loans.  Would be good if they could get their facts right as not had a loan for over 2 years and never took payment protection.  Beware.

I have been getting this number phoning me the last few days. thank you for the person who said about the t**t asking for bank details. I am glad i have not answered this call

Repeated calls from these people - rang their 0800 027 9744 number to tell them to stop. Now ringing from 'private number' and hanging up

Had A Call From This Number Saying He Was From Claims Direct Asking For A Name That I Hadn't Even Heard Of. When I Told Him That He Had The Wrong Number, He Started Telling Me I Could Re-claim Money From Loans I May Have Had, And Telling Me That Even Though He Didn't Originally Call For Me, It Could Be A 'Very Beneficial' Call To Me. I Just Told Him I Wasn't Interested And Put The Phone Down.

They keep calling and are very pushy , I have told them that I am not interested , but they keep calling.

I just leave the phone on the side and go and make a cuppa!!

Have had numerous calls from 0161 478 1190 over the last few days.   I answered the first one and they asked me if I had had a loan in the last ten years, if so I could be due a refund for PPI.  I asked them to tell me if I had had a loan, the guy then muttered something under his breath and hung up.  

They called again today, I just ignored it which I will do from now on till they get the message.
