- JohnF replies to FrankieFrankie,
If you pay for items or services over £100 with a credit card, the credit card company is jointly liable with the supplier for any claims you make against them for misrepresentation or breach of contract. This is under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
So, for example, if the supplier goes bust or refuses to give a refund you can still claim a refund from the credit card company, but you need to convince them of misrepresentation or breach of contract.
Hope this helps. - Martin| 1 replyI have also within the last two weeks been caught by this company. I got suspicious after checking for my front page links which aren't there. Rather than get straight onto the company, I have first done some searches, ending up here amongst many other places.
From reading many posts, at this stage I think it is a waste of time writing to them. The main reason being, I don't think they actually exist at the contact address! They don't show in any directories that I have looked in so far, if you search postcodes on the Royal Mail site, Unit 18, Meridian Business Centre does not show up. I've even used Google Street View to have a look around the Centre & there is no sign or indication of this company.
I have been in contact with my credit card company, not really to get a refund (£139) but to try and make sure they don't get any more. The credit card company was less than helpful, saying that even if I were to cancel my card & have a new one issued this still wouldn't stop them from taking a payment as a credit card is a guaranteed form of payment. They said I should write to the company first & then if they later try to take more money it can be claimed back. Not much help as I am pretty certain that this company is not at the address given !! I've now cleared my credit card balance & it looks like the only way to be sure is to now cancel my credit card account completely. I will write to them by registered post after I have sorted my card, I doubt it will get to them but at least I have tried & have evidence of postage.
I am furious with myself for being taken in by this, I really do know better..........- Caller: Worldwide Marketing Solutions in Oldham

- Belinda replies to Jacqui B| 1 replyI was highly impressed when they said they could get me top of google for 99 pounds. It never happened and they took more money than agreed from my account. when I complained they put an ad on adwords which appeared briefly on just one adword which probably only cost 5 pence. When I became suspicious I then found the postcode on my invoice did not match the address. I have still not had my promised advert and I was astonished to receive another phonecall saying they were Google 0161 637 2241, luckily I was on my guard and when I asked him was he web----ms, he quickly put the phone down. They are a highly professional scam team and I dont think the people working in the call centre know that they cannot provide the service they are selling.I have since phoned Google and they told me they are aware of several complaints and told me clearly not to part with any money
- unhappy scam victim replies to Martinmy bank has told me they will refund the money. However I have had to change my card which my bank assured me that would stop any more transactions
- Jonathan Watts| 1 replyYep, we got the same thing and lost about £500 off them using our card details. We have Cancelled the card and written a letter to the bank to stop any further payments being made. We have also reported the scam online. You will notice that their current phone number comes up on your bank statement so they cant be that bright....just less stupid than us though it would seem

- Tony Jauncey replies to Neil| 3 repliesI am collating a dossier on these people. It seems the more people the stronger the case for Trading Standard and the Police.
Could you please email me details of what happened, ideally with your name and address if you are willing to make a statement to the Police, as I will pass this on with others I am asking for.

tony.jauncey@btinternet.com - PeterI had an unsolicited sales call from them today from 01614258161, a lady called "Alison". She claimed she was calling from Google, and gave me a hard sell on guaranteed first page placement. I explained our business is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and we should not be receiving unsolicited sales calls. When I questioned her, she admitted she was not actually calling from Google, but from Worldwide Marketing Solutions, and claimed that Google outsource their marketing work to Worldwide Marketing Solutions. Needless to say, I didn't take up her offer!
I have now passed this on to the Telephone Preference Service for making unsolicited sales calls.- Caller: Worldwide Marketing Solutions

- classylady replies to Tony Jauncey| 1 replyHi Tony,
I have recently been scammed by these people, and have got a refund by my credit card company change my cc and they have now closed down the account but are threatening to sue me.. Bring it on I say. Do you want details of my situation? I have found them on facebook by the way Marvin Jarvis and Dan Howard and they are coincidentally friends on there in Oldham. I shall be going to the police today.
Do you have an email or address to send info to? - Peter replies to classyladyHi
Notice your reply to Tony,
There is a group on Yahoo who are collecting details on this but not sure how you would join it ,I think we need your email address first to invite you. Love to have more details as only have 4 names and address's so far
My email is zebadee91@yahoo.com.
I habe aslo written a complete story to a Lady who is taking them to court and I believe the group is looking to go the National Fraud Office and Watchdog
Yes, I f they take you to court I would like to be their just to see who they are - Old Mother Riley| 1 replyBe very careful with Peter's reply. Everything about it suggests he is not UK. Look at the spelling; look at the phraseology; check how you join a Yahoo group for real.
Suggest great caution before giving out further details of yourself or your email.
