- Simon replies to Old Mother RileyRegarding the warning about Peter's reply, Old Mother Riley is right to be cautious, but I think Peter is genuine as he has joined the private Yahoo egroup which I have recently set up, and he has provided useful information to support other members' claims against Worldwide Marketing Solutions. As a private egroup it is only open to members by invitation, in order to restrict access to genuine victims of this company.
If anyone would like further details about how to join the egroup then contact me at:
simon at officesoft dot freeserve dot co dot uk (written like that to try to prevent automatic email scrapers or whatever they're called from picking up my email address for spamming).
Simon - Old Mother RileyHappy to be wrong, in this case.
- Andrew GJust got caught by these people, they called yesterday stating they were Google. Paid £140.00 (£99 + £20 activation fee + VAT) for one month and 7 key phrases. Just realised tonight something may be wrong, when the listing never appeared today. Just phoned my credit card company to cancel, and will be in contact with the vendor dispute team in the morning. They called saying they were Google, James and Marvin are the account people "looking after us" all sounds a bit familiar!

- WatchmasterDear everyone. Like some of you, I was approached by this fraudster-laden company but I was lucky to put an immediate stop to my credit card as different signs showed me they are just professional frauds. To cut the long story short. I have reported to Panorama of BBC and I hope everyone of you will send your story there.
We all want to generate more business through the internet but unfortunately some of us had fallen prey to these scumbags. It's time to rid them out of their Den..- Caller: Worldwide Marketing MS Oldham

- evan p replies to tincanmanjust a word of advice,
and i quote
"What they don't know is I have got recordings of some of the conversations"
if you never told the person you were recording the call, and you try to use this as evidence, you are in breach of the 'british telecomunications act of 1998' where it clearly states that you have to make the person on the phone aware within the forst minute of the call that you are recording it...
I work in telesales and have studdied the act. it will not stand. if you never made them aware.

Regards,
Simon - once bittenGot a call from Lucy saying "I'm from Google" (lie No- 1) promised to advertise my business on google front page (lie no-2) the same day (lie no-3) for a one off fee of £99 (lie no-4) stupidly I fell for it and gave my bank details, then she told me there was an admin fee of £20. They took £139.83 inc. vat. If vat is to be added they should tell you, otherwise it is included in the price quoted.
I immediately realised I had been scammed and googled 01616336006 and found this site, this was 11/08/2010.
I am still not on google front page, or any other page that I am aware of and in spite of my emails and phone conversations they have not refunded my money and in fact have just taken another £116.33 from my account.
I have now been forced to close my account and cease trading, thanks to worldwide marketing solutions ltd.
My next course of action is to contact consumer direct and strongly urge anyone else who has been scammed by these lowlives to do the same. Good luck!- Caller: worldwide marketing solutions ltd

- sarahI was just rang by a company claiming to be Google but then said they were something else - probably worldwide marketing solutions - I didn't really listen because I knew the entire thing was cobblers.
He said in order to 'prove' they are who they say they are and can do what they say they can, he said he would put my company's details on the front page of Google for the next ten minutes, free of charge. I'm sure any person who implicitly knows IT can get this set up in order to 'prove' their innocence when in fact they are beguiling, insidious people (ba****ds).
What gives these offers away is the fact they are, generally, £99.00 - anything over £100.00 and your credit card company will protect the amount for free under Section 75 law.
Just say No to anything like this - It's probably a scam.- Caller: 'Google' / Worldwide Martketing Solutions
