Immediately preceded by "number unavailable" silent call.
Am reporting this number to the TPS.

Called today from this number. Recorded message saying because I am under 60 (I'm not!) I am entitled to £1000 because of private pension. Then says to press 5 to proceed or 9 to be deleted. PLEASE DON'T DO EITHER (unless you want to join suckers list) JUST END CALL IMMEDIATELY.

called from this number very distressing when you have family in the area and at 19.15hrs wonder if it is a family member in difficulty

I just left it running and it clicked off.

I too have a relative in Manchester with health problems and a missed call from 0161 is always a worry.
No message left on answering machine.

Recorded message offering "important news about my private pension". Obviously a scam of one sort or another. Under no circumstances press any buttons or attempt to dial the given number. DO report it to the Information Commissioner' Office (see the ICO website where you will find a simple means of doing so for unsolicited calls).

The TPS is a complete and utter waste of time but have to hope that if enough people report these sorts of calls to the ICO something might eventually be done by that organisation. For that reason PLEASE report every such call. It only takes a few seconds.

Unfortunately, TPS say they can't do anything to stop recorded calls - crap!!!

This number called today with some rubbish about £1000.  Because we are both pensioners, hearing impaired and are old enough to realize that NOBODY gives away money these days we just hung up.  Glad we did.  Other people please beware.

As I am an Independent Financial Adviser based in the Manchester areaI i definitely know thIt i am not owed anything for any pension.
I want to find out who this is and what they are up to. It probably needs reporting to the FSA as well.

its a scam. like most of these numbers, I've had loads of these since being with BT. some times you can speak to these people, its great fun if you completely waste their time and money! dont take any of them seriously!

Despite telling these idiots in no uncertain terms I don't want to deal with them they still keep calling; I keep reporting them to the ICO.

Have had several calls from this number with the same info as other people - glad someone has reported to TPS - agree with everyone that it is unsettling to receive these calls and even for people with common sense there is a degree of curiosity as to what it is all about. However, would never respond or proceed with call - probably get transferred to some extortionately priced phone line at the vbery least.

Even pressing 9 does not clear their memory bank and keeps calling. Such a nuisance
Finally, having got fed up, pressed 5 to talk to their representative, who put the phone down on me, as soon as I mentioned harrasment.

Call ended as soon as answerphone switched in (I've set it to switch in after just 2 rings)

Just received call from this number. Have not taken the bait and will report to TPS.
