My Manchester 0161 826 3251 pensions scam caller was called Peter Marsdone or something
Said he spoke some German and French and was an accountant when he wasn't monkeying the phones
Lovely bloke wanted my card number and everything.
Said his best mate was Tony
Said he loved him.

Automated message:

"Our claim records indicate that as you are 60 or under you qualify to receive a £1000 payment payable within the next 6 to 12 weeks, please press 5 now to clarify your bonus and begin the process, if we've already processed your payment, please press 9 to unsubscribe. This message is urgent and will be dealt with immediately. Please press 5 now."

What a load of nonsense. Needless to say, I ended the call without pressing any numbers.

Just let  the  message  run  it  coarse  but  it  is  annoying

Just had a call from this number. Didn't answer it. I started to put all the unsolicited numbers I get into the phone's address book under "SCAM" so that I know not to answer next time they ring. However, I have received so many that my phone couldn't hold any more, so I deleted them all and now only store the numbers of people I wish to speak to, which is fine up to a point, but isn't a perfect solution. I have missed calls which I would have preferred to answer. A person shouldn't have to resort to this to maintain their sanity and privacy. It's hardly worth having a phone for the agro it causes.
Many ot these scammers ring out on an automated system and don't even know if the number they are dialling is a genuine number. The minute you answer and start pressing buttons to delete or even let the call go through to answerphone, they immediately know they have a real number and will pester the life out of you for evermore.
I wonder if the phone company suppliers (I'm with Talk Talk) are selling our numbers for profit!
Also, does it annoy anyone else that you ALWAYS have to give your phone number when you purchase on line,( the transactions won't go through unless you do) even though they've got your perfectly good email address, or buy a raffle ticket for a good cause etc etc. the list is endless. I used to wonder how on earth these morons got hold of my phone number as I'm x directory  but just remember how many times you give your number to genuine companies. Who knows what they do with them.
PLEASE, some clever person out there think of a way to put a stop to this invasion. Otherwise the |NHS will be overloaded with a population with answering the phone phobia. Keep taking the tablets!!!!

I had a call from this number today. I didn't answer (for obvious reasons). No message was left.

Recorded calls that cause a "nuisance" can be reported to the information commissioner as you did not give them permission tyo use data to call you.

Silly me was starting to believe that after a few quiet days, that I would no longer be plagued by these scamming muppets. Wrong...got one today from this number. Recorded message...private pension blah blah blah.

Had a call just now from this number, obviously a scam so hung up.  I hate picking up the phone these days as more often than not it is a recorded message like this one.  When is the government going to actually do something about it?

Unsolicited recorded message - regarding private pensions - received from 0161 826 3251 at 10:25 am 7-Mar-2013

I have had a couple of calls from this number warning me that time is running out to apply for £1000 refund on (I think) my private pension. I guess this is some sort of scam as my pension company always contact me by mail.

I am sick off getting these nuisance calls.

It was the £1000 pension bonus scam (with the same recorded voice) that has also originated also from 01617381501, and from 01216672481.
These nuisances (or this nuisance) calls me once on the number they're currently using and because I have installed a call blocker (£40 from Amazon) he/she or it doesn't get through again using that number - because I press my little button on the call blocker and ....... tahdah..... Zap! You guessed it! Number blocked forever more.
I will now be reporting this number to OCI at http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints, as I have the previous numbers identified above.
Someday, someone will do something about this and put call blocker manufacturers out of business. Hmmm! Can you see where this is going?

I have been bombarded with calls from this number. I have blocked the number on my phone.
I figure if it's important then somebody will leave a message. I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognise as it's normally a PPI or scam call.
