It's reassuring to read these comments as we have also had persistent calls from PSCA. I have repeatedly asked to be removed from their calling lists and the only way to end the call is to hang up as they simply won't take no for an answer.

At least I know it's not just me now!

They called me up and said that people were talking about my business at central government level, my chest pushed out with pride - I think they are appealing to owner-managers vanity. Anyway after ages with the caller on the phone I realised that this was just a hard nosed telesales operation selling me advertising space. Really very difficult, they have my mobile and call all the time....

Male caller from 'Public Service' extremely evasive, rude, aggressive, persistent, sexist.
I ended the conversation but he proceeded to call each of my colleagues in turn, attempting to gather information about me.
I feel quite threatened by this unpleasant caller.

Claimed to be working with a Governement agency, call that took 8 minutes before he claimed he was not trying to sell us anything - just seeing if we qualified. page rank on http://www.publicserviceevents.co.uk/ is zero alexa do not know them complete pain in the [***] and bloody devious.

If you sell something ask "DO YOU WANT TO BUY XYZ" these people need to know how to sell.

Fairly rude gentleman by the name of Anthony Donnnelly.  Trying to pass yourself off as a government agency is pretty unethical if not actually illegal... don't deal with these people

Had a call this morning from a Mr Palmer of PSCA - asked for M.D. 'Paul Smith' mmm!, said must have wrong number as there's no PS - his response was 'ARE YOU SURE?' - having worked here for 10 yrs I think I know!!!

Said calling about a 'Government meeting' as we work in Biotech industries... I would not give him name, extremely condescending. Told him Director would not speak to him but to send an email - 'I'm not going to do that, if we don't want the business he'd find someone who did' he went off on one - I put the phone down.  Don't give them any time, total rudeness, why haven't they gone bankrupt?

A friend of mine works there. It's a wonder that a "watchdog" type investigation has not taken place, though they were forced to change their name from Public Service Communication Agency by the DTI a few years back because of BAD complaints. They are well known to the press offices of the Home Office and my friend tells me that the Welsh Assembly have circulated their details to all their departments telling them to have NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM! These lot were in Private Eye a few years ago, much the same type of scam back then, it's amazing they havent been shut down. BOILER ROOM!

These guys have been calling us for four years, despite us asking them to stop and them promising that they have removed us from the calling list.  We have complained to the data protection commissioner, to no avail.  They will call up to eight times a day - do they not have anything better to do?
They are rude, pushy and downright unpleasant.  They had the cheek to tell me that as I was not a director, I would not understand what they were talking about!
Basically, we now hang up on them - it is the only way to get rid.  Don't waste time even telling them no.

It's a publishing company selling advertising as well as hard selling events. They are extremely pushy, fringing rudeness and impertinence. We have complained in writing on numerous occasions for years and even phoned them asking them to stop harassing us. They just keep phoning again and again. We have reverted to not answer their calls and just put the phone down. They also pretend to be calling on behalf of The Crown Estate, The Carbon Trust, The United Nations. Their imagination is boundless!

Complete Scum! Pushy, hard nosed thoroughly annoying, up their own [***]. Will tell you anything to try and secure a deal. Keep you on the phone trying to butter you up then tell you they need a decision at the end of the call (for £15,000!!!). Will put you on hold if you refuse and get one of their smarmy managers to tell them what to say.

Call numerous times a week trying to sell advertising or a "fantastic and unique opportunity" at some [***] conference. If its so "fantastic and unique" why do they call so often?

Pricks!! I have informed my staff to hang up as soon as they hear the name PSCA International or Public Service. Just not worth the time or the aggravation

I can only reiterate the comments made on here.  We too  have been repeatedly called on numerous occasions, the latest from someone called Simon Goon. They keep you on the phone for half an hour telling you they're not selling anything, giving you the spiel about how they can get us x amount of government contracts, and then they tell us ahve to pay £15000.  Our company has succeeded very well without the help of these people.  We have now decided to hang up as soon as we hear they're from PSCA or Public Service.  It will save you a lot of time and hassle in the long term.

Very persistent caller (Clare) who insisted that she was not selling anything.  Got rid of her quickly but it does get very boring and takes up precious time.  I do wish they'd take the hint and call people who might be interested instead of keeping calling me - who isn't!

I was contact by PSCA yesterday and they told me that Sarah Cox, Strategy, Planning and Performance Director of The Cabinet Office & Member OGC PPM Council is the keynote speaker at a PSCA event in London on 2nd December.  I have checked this out and it is true.

If Sarah is speaking then this event is certainly something my business will be involved with.

Sales rep was a bit pushy, but so are all sales reps!!!!

Nice to see come balanced comments such as that from Megan Smyth. There is no doubt this company is persistant and pro-active in its approach and that will antagonise some people, however, it has to be understood that this forum is used by rival organisations jealous of the success of the company. Rather than concentrating on making their own business more successful by growth and development, they try and sabotage PSCA.

With regard to Sarah Cox being present at the conference, she probably won't turn up!!! This is a nice little trick PSCA like to play, you will only find out she won't be present when you have paid your 15,000 (or 7 in my case!!) and turn up on the day. By then its too late! Check your contract!!

Most speakers who are involved in the upper echelons of Government are warned not to attend by Whitehall as soon as they find out, such is the piss poor reputation of this company! Government Ministers can't be associated with a company that is in and out of trading standards as often as PSCA is. Also the fact they have been on watchdog is a big no no!!!

Just had the umpteenth call from PSCA (now calling themselves Public Sector).  I suspected it was them and would have hung up earlier if I'd realised as they have been calling me for SEVEN YEARS!.  The caller, Claire, was extremely rude and didn't like it when I "grilled" her.  In the end she put the phone down on me, saying she didn't want to work with my company, so it seems they can give it, but not take it.  Play them at their own game.  Keep asking questions like "Yes but what exactly do you want me to do in the public sector?"  She gave up in the end, but no doubt someone else will be on the case again soon....

Sorry to inform you "John" but Sara Cox did indeed attend the event on 2nd December.  Her speech was excellent and I made several very good contacts on the day, so all in all a very worthwhile venture for our organisation.

You sound like the sort of chap that presented with a photo of your [***] and your elbow would slam your hand down on the desk and shout "snap".

I have had the 01618327387 number call me at least 3 times a day on my personnal mobile phone! I have asked them to stop and even rung the 01782 620088 to tell them it was a personnal number and not a company number! But the calls keep coming which I never answer. However they do call unknown number sometimes so be careful!!!

Seems like the same people that complain on here are the sort that write to points of view.  If you dont like the calls put the phone down!

The Welsh Assembly do work with PSCA as do many of the Government and leading industry associations who either attend the events as speakers or write in the publications.

I think if you filtered through the ex-employees who couldnt hack it then there would be very few messages on here.

Yes I got asked to make a decision but then that's what I am employed to do.  Make decisions.

In response to BPS I am part of a leading industry association and we do not work with you. As for the comment about ex-employees I find it very insulting to imply that I once work in a boiler house. How very dare you!
