- Curious replies to crest of a waveI am in Australia, and our police and consumer protection groups can not help us, only log the company on our scam watch. But I am seriously considering going to the media to warn all aussies about this scam as all telemarketers in other countries can get away with the same and no regulations or laws prevent them from doing it.

- Roland| 1 replyDear Smack Rat (and all the other names you use)
I'm fascinated how brave you are in calling everyone else cowards because they won't post their name or emails with their comments.
I have contacted the companies Dotcom Chrome claim are 'satisfied customers' and, not surprisingly, none of them are. In fact, several of them have current court proceedings against you and almost all have documented the abusive and threatening emails you have sent them.
Don't even bother attempting to type anything more here unless you are prepared to use your real name and email address.

- jaffawho, why and how. total pain in the backside. they started calling and asking for me now they call and ask for my partner. has being going on for months.
- VICTORYWe encourage anyone that has received correspondence from a debt collection agency to explain your situation to that debt collection agency. At this time include proof, eg emails etc of the abuse, threats, defamation and all information which makes dotcom chromes claims for payment nul and void. We have and I know others have had our debts cancelled. Debt collection agencies will not represent a company like dotcon chrome that does not have a legitimate debt. When they receive enough complaints they realise what a company like this is up to and they don't want to have anything to do with them either, just like we don't.
Another victory for us.

- I pity the foolI love this line on the Dotcom Chrome website FAQ
"While no company including Google can guarantee that your site will appear on Google's' front page 24/7, we do guarantee that your listing will be listed every day. If any of our representatives have offered 24/7 exposure within the sponsored listings please help us to combat miss selling by informing either our customer service team or shift manager."
How are we supposed to contact the customer service team or the shift manager?
Especially when they are all the same guy who offered us 24/7 exposure.
I actually DID complain about the representative offering me 24/7 exposure. But according to customer service (who signed his email to me 'Jimmy the Clown') it wasn't the salesman who was wrong, it was me:
"I believe our salesman told you every day for one month, did you take this to mean 24/7? If so perhaps you should have queried it at the time because it could mean once per day for one month."- Caller: dotcom chrome

- NuggetSA replies to Cameron Wishart| 1 replySame story here. I've been fighting them for months now and have recently cancelled my credit card. Westpac have been great in helping deal with this. Here's some of the crap I've had to put up with:
We are in receipt of an illegal chargeback request for the sum of:
$260 Transaction date: 02/12/09
$260 Transaction date: 02/01/10
$260 Transaction date: 01/10/09
The above payment complies fully with the terms and conditions of contract you entered into and as such is now being treated as a fraudulent chargeback. The postmark of this email is registered with our office. Unless you contact us at 0161 976 47 45 or send payment for the above amount you will run the risk of your local authorities serving you with a summons and complaint to appear in court without further notice to you.
Filing of suit will initiate a series of events that will cause you considerable inconvenience and expense. In addition to the above mentioned balance, you will be liable for our solicitor fees, court costs and interest. Our terms and conditions were confirmed with you on a call recorded line on: 01/10/2009 a copy of these terms was also sent to your email address on 02/11/2009 to which we have delivery reports from eircom.net. Our terms of service are also available
In the event you should fail to contact us immediately, legal actions will commence without further notice.
Our Chargeback policy is very clear: customers who pull illegal chargeback’s will be reported to all major credit bureaus as a delinquent collection account unless funds are returned within 7 days .This will affect all your applications for credit for at least five years. Dependent upon the severity of the chargeback we may deem it necessary to report you for fraud to the police. You will be reported to www.badcustomer.com and blacklisted against many online merchants as well as being reported to the major fraud reporting bureaus online. Failure to return funds will result in debts being passed on to a debt collector in your local area.
This is after sending an email cancelling the agreement within a couple of hours of their phone call. Their assertions are totally rubbish. The man at Westpac actually laughed when I told him their response to the bank recovering the money. I have reported them to trading standards in Manchester.
Under UK Law they are obliged to give 7 working days "cooling off", or if they don't advise that, three months plus 7 days. But their very own terms allow 3 days in month one then 30 days. They cannot stipulate the form of cancellation so long as it is clear in its intent. An email is perfectly acceptable at Law so saying, as they have on many occasions, that the cancellation wasn't sent in the proper form is idiotic. Pay no attention. My advice. If you do get sweet talked into and you want to end it. Send them an email to compliance@dotcomchrome.co.uk. Keep a copy then dipute any charge with your credit card company. Expect a tirade of abuse but that's just their way of retaining customers! - Happy CustomerAs it says on the Dotcom Chrome Website FAQ:
"Due to the large volume of happy customers recurring each month at different times & days we are sure you can appreciate logistically it’s not possible to call every client, every month whilst maintaining an effective low cost marketing solution."
Surely they don't have any unhappy customers???
Also on their site they say:
"The success of your business is based on how you communicate with your potential and current customers."
Everybody loves Dotcom Chrome!
If they even had ONE unhappy customer Jamie McDougall would go out of his way to please that person. Of course he'd refund your money if you weren't happy. He'd rather PAY you to stay with Dotcom Chrome than see you disappointed by them- Caller: Dotcom Chrome
- IGNORE ALL BARK NO BITE replies to NuggetSADotcom Chrome like below are not able to collect on illegitimate debts so please read below and ignore. Do not pay them and when you receive a letter from a debt collection agency which you will, then please do as below. We had received the correspondance that you describe, it costs them nothing to make these empty threats and email them to you, but it will cost you if you are tricked and intimidated into paying. If they got half of the people they have ripped off to pay up on illegitimate debts then yeah they would be making 100K a year,. that's why this is SUCH A HUGE SCAM....

No greater satisfaction can be had, except when DOTCON CHROME go bust. Waiting with baited breath...... - cdhhyperTheir welcome pack is nothing more than their terms and conditions.
Also notice that they will set up your service within 48 hrs - This is probably to get round the distance selling directive because theere is no way you can send a letter with 3 days notice to cancel before the service starts, and once it starts you are screwed.
The distance selling directive does not apply to business to business transactions, but if you sign up as a personal customer, it may apply.
The other giveaway of shady operating is that it costs £1.50 per min to call tech services, a premium rate. Now I know some other companies do this, but they are usually reputable and this costs offsets other low service costs, but notwithstanding that, I usually avoid comapnies where calls cost this much for support.
The sales people do pass themselves off as being from Google Chrome, and note that the initial sales call is not recorded, only the 'compliance call', they one that stitches you up, is recorded.
There appears to be more negative than positive comment on here, so if anyone has phrases that work 24/7 post them here withthe company they should be going to and we can search - should point to at least some positeive comments if it works.
If the sponsored link does not come up, we can post that back too.- Caller: Dot com chrome T&Cs

- colin| 2 repliesOur campaign is 4 days short of a full month using the exact keywords used in our dotcomchrome adword campaign with similiar titles despite them according to dotconchrome being the best for our industry we have only had 28 impressions ie the keywords have only been typed into google and viewed by people 28 times WITH NO CLICKS .No clicks means no work for us and £145 profit in that month for this scam company Dotcom chrome this is obviously not what anybody would call good service.
WE WERE PROMISED 24/7 EXPOSURE ON GOOGLE WITH JUST A FEW MINUTES DOWNTIME FOR OPTIMISATION AND ALSO THEY WERE THE BEST KEYWORDS ALL OF WHICH WAS CONFIRMED BY THEIR SALEPERSON VIA EMAIL BEFORE ANY PAYMENT WAS MADE SO GROSSLY MIS-SOLD .AVOID DOTCOM CHROME LTD WHOS ONLY CONCERN IS THEMSELVES AND NOT GIVING A GOOD SERVICE TO THERE CUSTOMERS- Caller: Dotcom chrome ltd

- david mitchellI signed up for a month. They didn't call me before the campaign went live to agree the details as they had promised to do. Didn't reply to my request to raise a formal complaint. - then they tried to take a payment without authorisation which my bank declined. They then said by not cancelling early enough I was on a rolling contract. They've been constantly phoning and emailing me. These guys are cowboys - do not touch!!!!
