Just had a silent call from this number. I note it has been reported several times as purporting to be from BT Broadband, when it is not.

Telemarketers - Pushing BT broadband services

I have been receiving calls form this number. I am ex-directory and find these calls intrusive and a concern as I have young children who might answer and become upset.

keep calling my landline if i answer its silent on other end,once a man asked for a mrs jones i said wrong number he hung up straight away no apologie or thankyou even goodbye.Try calling this number back rings few times and goes dead ,do not give them any of your time very dodgy whatever they claim to be seeling or offering .

Received a call from this number yesterday afternoon  despite being ex-directory and  registered with TPS -caller claimed to be ringing on behalf of BT yet he seemed unsure of who he needed to speak to as ours is a joint account (a genuine BT caller would have known this ) which instantly made the alarm bells ring . He fired info at me about broadband costs ,speed etc yet he had to ask me how much we pay (I didn't tell him) and when told that the broadband regularly fails (an ongoing problem which BT have been attempting to resolve for some time ) he said " must be your wiring" which is incorrect and yet again something a genuine BT caller would be aware of .At this point I had ,had enough and when he started saying "does it sound a good deal (@£18 a month ) I said I was not going to commit to anything .He quickly said "thanks for your time" and rang off .Why can't these people be stopped -they are a nuisance and some innocent people could end up getting caught out -going to warn everyone I know to beware .

Just had a call from this number on my work line, I have never given this number out to anyone, not even friends and family yet I get a call from this number and they asked for me by name. How is this possible?

It's possible as BT are selling all our information. TPS is toothless

These people have been calling me all times of the day from 9am until 7:10 pm
Really annoyed with these people.

I received 2 calls from this number a few days ago which I missed and it was only traced
by me using 1471

My number is ex directory so IMO none of us with that set up should NOT be receiving any calls from Scammers and sales parasite at cold call centres, .
 
According to what I have read on Google, 01709764400 is yet another scam company.
It is a landline with a Rotherham code
Therefore BT must have a record of it;.
It should be suspended by BT, and  MUST be reported to
the Police Fraud team for investigation

Called me 19.10.13 @ 18.46, line silent on picking up but # registered on 1471, not amused, I was just enjoying my meal when they called, shame I'd bothered to answer it!

It's not BT as he did not know what an EIN is (BT employee number) if they claim to be BT take their EIN number call the main BT number and ask to be put through to them

basically when you have some free time 141 there number and jam there lines they do answer lmao tossers i ask them for there personal details and then say tnx this has been recorded and traked braking his/her staff down

This number has called and I dont know how they got my number. very strange as when asked their name they hung up. I have just read all the comments and that this person is calling other too, so thought I would report it.

Same as most others, got multiple calls from this Rotherham number.
They just drop the call as soon as I answer
Waste of time call centre idiots.
Not sure what, if anything can be done.

Bogus call

I wonder if the trick is that they hope you will phone them back and it is a premium rate number and they collect money for everyone who phones them.
