Similar to other posts, why can't these people be stopped!
I have only had a phone number for 12 months and no longer answer or give out my number to friends as I get so many spam calls. Even for the previous occupant who died 5 years ago!
It really annoys me as I don't even want a home phone but have to have it to have broadband as no cable here and I can't even use the b***** thing because of so many spam calls!!! More money for nothing!

You kn*b head !! Every 'phone number did NOT used to belong to BT. My current landline was originally a COMCAST number ( who were then taken over by NTL and subsequently by Virgin Media )!!!! It was NEVER a BT number (idiot) !! Get your facts right ....... BT may own the exchanges which enables my landline to operate, but it is not (and never has been) a BT number. Your "company" is a pain in the backside.

I really can't imagine this post is genuinely from an employee of the company. There must be a certain minimum standard of literacy to work in a call centre that I'm sure must be above that demonstrated here.

On the other hand, if it is then I'm not surprised that he doesn't have the b***s to say who the company actually is.

If you spend even a small amount of time on here, you will quickly realise that what you read is quite normal for employees of this type of company.  It really makes you want to use these companies, doesn't it (not)!

rung my house, got annoyed when i wouldnt give my bank details out, despite fact i dont have my phone with bt.... got rather abusive with me, and started shouting at me....needless to say have rung the police to report

I am called from this number incessantly.   I seldom pick up my phone now but on dialling 1471 this number is the last call at least once a day.

Called today, I did not answer but they left a message stating that they were Hero TFC and calling on behalf of BT- they are listed as partners www.bt.com/partners.

The information you have given here is incorrect its a company that is hired on behalf of BT to offer deals provided by them to encorage customers to come back to BT. So it is a BT related call, There no con or scam why would anyone sit there calling old BT customers to come back to BT with out any benifit? as theres no need for bank details to be given if your worried. And no one can do much with the provider you are currently with as they got enough infomation on you to be call knowing your name and phone number which they would of had to get from somewhere and somewhere where they know it used to be a BT phoneline... if you want the calls to stop its a simple question of asking them to be removed from the BT list.. no need for the mega panic over scams and the confusion of if there BT or not they work on behalf and its stared at the begining of the call..

recieved call from this number today they left a message with alot of swear words in it.

this number is FSA registered and they are not scammers. as the previous person has already mentioned, it is a telesales call to get pervious customers to go back to bt offering a fantastic deal that you can only get over the phone. think of it this way if bt could offer you something at a really cut down rate but with everything in your package then why not YOU'LL BE SAVING YOURSELF SOME MONEY...AND VERY DELUDED IF YOU DIDNT WANT TO SAVE MONEY.

if you listen the the call instead of getting on your high horse and flipping out then you might find out whats its all about.

Not nice to slander a company as scammers when they just have a job to do...just like everyone else in the world.

I agree that these calls can sometimes be annoying but its not fair on the caller to be getting the grief some of you are giving.  Its their job and with the way the economy is at the moment people have to settle for jobs they can get in order to support their selves and families.  Hero tsc is a call centre any phone call you recieve from a company will be based in a call centre. I expect these employees would not choose this as their ideal job and theres just no need to rude to these people just simply insist you are happy with your current arrangements and appreciate the fact that it is a job they have to do in order to live.  Lets hope none of you have to do these jobs because you couldn't handle what some of these people have to deal with over the phone.

Suggest you tell Hero TSC to get their act together. Telephonic abuse is not work. All they have to do is be ethical and say upfront that it is a sales call on behalf of BT by Hero and delete you off their spam database when requested and people would treat the poor battery hens they employ humanely.

It really does make me laugh how self absorbed some people can be. Honestly how do you think BT and such companies become as successful as they are. Its clearly not by sitting around waiting for word of mouth its by promoting themselves as much as possible be it advertising or sales. All major companies hire groups to promote their services and its a good job really as it creates thousands of jobs for people to survive. If your not keen on these calls fair enough but its life and there's just no need for rude arrogant people.
