Ive been having these calls too- saying they are from BT- which if they even if they are acting on behalf of BT isnt the same thing as being called from BT. Have told them politely to stop calling. but every 2-3 days there the phone goes again.

Yeah there TSC calling on behalf of BT they set me up on a excellent broadband package good manner on the phone aswell and very polite.

Just missed a call off this number today. It's Hero TSC (not Hero TFC as mentioned above, somebody needs to get the wax out of their ears), a marketing company. Just annoying spam calls trying to sell you some crap you don't want or need... For the people who could find no reference of the company on line their website is herotsc.co.uk

They are a registered partner of BT (you can check them out on the BT website at BT.com/partners) so it's NOT bogus.

If you phone the number back, you get a BT recorded message with a free phone number to call if you want your number removing from their call list. Not something you should have to do if you're registered with the TPS, but oh well.

silly young woman called today from this number - giggling and eating  too - said she was from BT about broadband offers - can't believe BT have people so poorly trained in telephone tecniques?

these IDIOTS ring me EVERYDAY at various times (as late as 9pm); I screen my calls and they never leave a message.

I am TPS registered so how did they get my number?They called my number but when i did not answer and  the messagaing service kicked in they hung up!
Dialled 1471 to find out number, will not be calling them back.

Several calls from this number.  When there was a pause today before they answered I left the phone off the hook for an hour.  I then checked and confirmed it was 01709764400.  I hope it was the right thing to do.  Unless somebody tells me to the contrary I shall continue to do this.

Had four missed calls from this number in last 5 days on my BT Landline:

9 June2011 1542hrs
10 June 2011 1203hrs
13 June 2011 1751hrs

Clearly they don't work weekends!

My number is not Ex-Directory, but it is registered with TPS and has been for many years

If anyone doesn't want this company to phone them up just answer politely listen to what they say and asked them to take there number of the calling register.

Being rude,obnoxious,aggressive or petty will get you dispositioned different asking politely for your number to be taken off the system will stop the calls.

It does make me laugh how petty people can be with stuff like this they not really doing anything wrong and folk are the first to complain if a company doesn't make them aware of the offers they have to save them money.

People just generally like to moan I guess.

Chap called on behalf of BT trying to refill me a broadband package, I did not ask what and who although he knew my name but I did refuse. The guy did not even say bye.

I am so sick of saying that I am sick to death of being called every day, more than twice daily, every week, of every month and every year since I moved in here in 2006.  One comment on here was "listen politely and they  won't ring you again".   Is whoever posted that a complete moron?  After listening to the calls for the first year - and telling them the woman they asked for had never lived here, they still called every day, 365 days a year,  year after year after year.  At night I have to unplug the phone so I can sleep.  God help me if I have a break in during the night.  I won't be able to use the phone to call for help.  (I'm an OAP living alone)

I'm already TPS registered by BT seem to think TPS doesn't apply to them (probbably some implied permission in the BT contract smallprint).

Just tell them to take your number of there calling list and it will be done.

They called for for my dad today, and i told the person to phone back tomorrow as my dad wasn't here. How did they get the number, since we have registered not to get any cold callers?

Called today and phone was put down as I answered. Seems like same happened to lots of other people.

Have kept on getting these calls from BT and their "partners" wanting me to upgrade, and they keep on not taking no for an answer. So have rung the number above (0800 028 2272) and asked them to bar the calls. Takes 48hrs supposedly, so shall see what happens...

I have also kept getting calls from this number, so phoned BT nuisance help line, they checked the number and have confirmed it is one of their own marketing companies! You can ask to be removed from the BT marketing call list and not receive any future BT sales calls.

A friend of mine has a wonderful way of dealing with such calls - she earnestly asks "Have you found Jesus, dear?" and starts spouting religious nonsense and they soon ring off and don't call back.

I have a missed call from these people yesterday but rarely answer my landline anyway as all my friends call my mobile
