Im sure this is a scam so urge  all to take procautions when doing so, incase they can trace your steps and get other companies to call you !!!!!! be on guard my friends :  )

Below is all the information about the company saying they are B.T operators....they are not and are a company called hero tsc on behalf of B.T.
Lets all write them a letter or e-mail them to say STOP bugging us.

0170976400 this number has been ringing me and putting the phone down I rang back and there is an answerphone the above post is right they are Hero Tsc BUT they are partners of BT go to BT.Com/partners I initally rang BT complaints who said that they were not from BT they deny it then when I went on the web site I was so angry to see these people are partners that I emailed a complaint to BT saying I was going to take it higher as it was Harassment I got a call with sincere apologies they have said that they are going to get my number taken off all their lists so I shouldn't get any more calls may take a few weeks they say. The very next day I got a call from Hero Tsc I am discusted that I as an ex directory customer and registered with TPS that this can still happen. I have now been forced to leave my answerphone on and only answer the phone if I know the caller it hasnt stopped the nuisance calls so far.

Caller said they were from BT and said their records showed I had a BT line at some stage in the past (hasn't everyone).

I asked for his name and his company name, he said he was a salesman from British Telecom.

I said that my number was registered with the TPS, he replied by saying 'yes, it was BT who registered it. I replied that it's not BT who register the numbers but the poor sods who have to pick up the phone every half hour and that I would report the call.
He said "you do that" and hung up.

Had a call from this number today using previously registered users name?  Believe BT has sold on account users names and contact details to this firm for unknown purposes............once I said no one by that name they rapidly hung up!

this number keeps calling me ,but im ex directory so i dont answer any number i dont know .how do i stop them calling?

get this call everyday..best way is dont answer then do a ring back to get number ,if its them you
at least you know till this thing gets sorted out.

they actually called me at 8.12pm so whether they are supposed to stop or not they rang me at gone 8pm, n i have the blank voicemail they left on my machine to prove it........

Thanks for the info about this crowd, everyone - I'll know to be on my guard when they call again.  Got a call from this number today but nobody answered when I picked up the phone.

Just had a call off this number asking for a Mrs Kent. I said no one of that name lives here. He then asked about my line rental. I said not interested and hung up. It was then i found this on the internet. Beware...it sounds dodgy. Hang up.

Missed this call. Didn't know the number and they didn't leave a message. Then came across this site. Can't believe so many people have had the same!

I received a call from this number tonight. The caller addressed me by my surname and said it was a courtesy call from BT referring to a quotation that BT had sent to me. He said that I would could be getting the most from my landline and a better deal to transfer to BT. I said that if I wanted a better deal from BT I would contact them and not the other way around, and ended the call however even as I was ending the call he still trying to talk to me. The caller was quite agressive and wouldn't take no for an answer. I checked the the telephone number and it didn't seem right for a BT marketing call; needless-to-say I Googled the number and this site appeared. This number is NOT a BT related call and I would advise anyone receiving calls from this number DO NOT give out ANY personal information and contact BT Customer Services.

Answered call but only silence and then click

Called three times this evening, answered every time then silence then hung up. Wonder if its a computer trialing numbers in use?
