How could a person choose a company like this to perform an operation on them when you can only doubt their sincerity?

Mitrajaya sets sights on disposing Optimax eye treatment franchise!!!!
KUALA LUMPUR: Mitrajaya Holdings Bhd has decided to sell off its 51% stake in the local franchise holder for Optimax, a British laser eye correction chain, for RM5.1mil.
The company told Bursa Malaysia that it on Wednesday agreed to dispose of all its interest in Optimax Eye Specialist Centre Sdn Bhd comprising of 1.275 million shares for RM4 apiece.
Construction-based Mitrajaya acquired its stake in the eye surgery specialist in December 2001, reportedly for RM2.5mil. Optimax today has one of the largest networks in Malaysia for laser refractive surgery.
Mitrajaya’s statement on Wednesday did not give details of the sale such as the potential buyer and the rationale for the disposal.
However, the company said a further announcement would be made once a definitive agreement had been inked.
Mitrajaya’s healthcare division, comprising Optimax, posted a pre-tax profit of RM790,000 last year, it earlier revealed in its latest unaudited results report the bourse.
That showed an improvement from a pre-tax profit of RM591,000 in 2013 and from a loss of RM2.13mil the previous year.
Mitrajaya also said in Wednesday’s announcement that pursuant to the pre-emption terms of the shareholders agreement dated Dec 13, 2001, between Mitrajaya and Datuk Tan Boon Hock, the company had given notice of its disposal intention to the latter.
According to Mitrajaya, Tan has to reply within 30 days of his acceptance; otherwise, the company will be entitled to deal with the sale shares in accordance with the terms of the shareholders’ agreement. - Nils Noa replies to Xpander| 6 repliesLooks like MoneySuperMarket.com have pulled the plug on their advertising deal with Optimax, the provider of LASIK and so on. https://www.moneysupermarket.com/vouchers/store/optimax/3487/1/
Either MSM pulled the plugged as they didn't want connected with a toxic brand; or Optimax were unable to pay their bills. Both explanations don't look positive for Optimax or Russell Ambrose. Ask many of the Optimomax laser treatment victims and they may have a different answer to that of the marketing gurus over at Optenax - John McDonnell MP replies to SR| 17 repliesOptimax behaviour is disgusting, but what else can we expect with a corrupt Tory government?
The Socialist Campaign Group set out an agenda in January 1984 to ban private medical healthcare other than NHS and this horrible organisation are a prime example of why we must ban non-essential cosmetic surgery in the UK.
I hope that the next Labour leader has the balls to stand up to the Tories in a traditional labour sense and stop trying to act like them.

" Do not ever use Optimax. Our experience in the Bristol branch was shocking. Firstly they take a deposit off you saying they will refund it and they never do unless you chase them up for it. Secondly they are dishonest, about the likelihood of a successful operation and about the waiting times.
I would never recommend them to anyone, rather the opposite! "
If I were interested in getting my eyesight corrected with laser eye treatment, I would research review websites early in the process. If the laser eye treatment reviews were poor, I'd reconsider my choice of laser eye treatment company. That's just me though - Mark Hadley (Ultralase customer) replies to CaroInteresting that this guy Russell Ambrose gave a personal guarantee that he would meet the aftercare needs of Ultralase patients.
I had LasIK + Wavefront over a year ago at the Ultralase Guildford branch (which subsequently closed so followups were in Optimax in Reading). The care in the surgery was ok at the time, had a massive wait for my appointment and was there for about 4-5hrs in total (as opposed to the 1-2 they tell you). However the surgery went to plan and I was given all the bits and pieces needed for recovery
The main problem I have is that the surgery simply has not worked on one eye. I am left with a small prescription in my right eye (-0.25 to -0.5) which considering I was only -2.0 (L) and -2.5 (R) in the first place is pretty shocking. It took several months of followups and a referral to their main branch in London for them to finally admit it, at first it was "dryness" that they were blaming on the blurred vision and that "given time" it will correct itself. Well, I've given it nearly 15 months and it is simply not good enough. I think it is made worse because my right eye is my dominant eye but even so there are days when I feel like putting glasses on again.
What will Ultralase/Optimax do about it? nothing, their small print gets them out of any responsibility for what happens when its not perfect.
If your thinking of getting your eyes corrected then please think seriously about it and do plenty of research..... If you think "its ok, my eyes are not in the -5+ range so it should be simple" then beware that it CAN go wrong for anyone. Go for the most experienced surgeon you can find because I thought it was a simple and easy procedure that so many people have done now and just chose the most convenient surgery and a date that suited me. I have no idea if I was unlucky or the Surgeon made a mistake, I guess its impossible to tell but please bear in mind that their success statistics are based on results that you might not think are as good as they are made out to be......trust me a -0.25 to -0.5 imperfection is well within their "success range" and its left me squinting, blinking and generally poor sighted.
Would love to know if there is any comeback but my £2500 was not well spent and it looks like I will be back wearing glasses soon. - RingARoses replies to John McDonnell MPGMC complaints re: Optimax Limited

Refractive eye surgery is NOT cosmetic, but as Prof Harminder Dua (former President of the RCOphth) pointed out to me last year, laser and lens exchange surgery are sold as cosmetic procedures.
Optegra's glossy TV ads for Clarivu are a perfect example:

Optimax TV ads would be the same, if it weren't for the fact they can no longer afford to advert on TV due to the current financial difficulties being experienced.
Tick tock, it's the final countdown - Mr Abdominals replies to Nils Noa| 5 repliesI'm not surprised that Money Supermarket have binned their relationship with Optimax. Not all companies are as ethical as Money Supermarket.
Tesco, following on from the recent Horsemeat scandal and then the financial irregularities scandal are still working with Optimax Laser Eye Surgery Clinics.
http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=584
Would you be surprised if Tesco also pulled the plug, for someone like Tesco, a leading brand trying to repair it's own damaged reputation, a relationship with a company like Optimax can only be a bad thing for Tesco. Imagine someone ended up with bad eyesight after paying for the treatment with their Tesco Clubcard. That's not the sort of PR Tesco need and I'm sure that if the CEO of Tesco Dave Lewis knew about this deal, he would take action to remedy the situation and avoid taking the name of Tesco through another potential scandal.
Not only Dave Lewis, but the others on the executive board over at Tesco PLC:

I would have expected Moneysavingexpert.com, a consumer champion, to be more careful in their due diligence processes and not jump into bed with "cheap" laser eye surgery companies such as Optimax.
" 10.Laser eye surgery for less
It's a big decision to fix your sight permanently, but big savings are possible. Make sure you do your medical research fully though, and consider all options.
It's possible to pay for some or all of your Optimax surgery with Tesco points. Better still, as Optimax is part of Tesco's Clubcard Deals scheme, you get it for a third of the price. In other words, a £5 in-store voucher is worth £15 of laser eye surgery.
So you could have a £990 treatment with £330 worth of vouchers. Or if you don't have enough to cover it all, use them to part pay."

John McDonnell is a fraud.
