- Mike in AshfordFirst I knew about this was when it appeared on my credit card as far as I know I have not responded to any calls I am taking this up with my credit card Company.
- Caller: Callprev.co.uk
- ZivaCPR are not a scam company they stop calls nationally and internationally - and that is the reason they charge. They can only get your telephone number if your details are registered on theyre website.
They are not a nuisance caller and if the terms and conditions of the website are read correctly you will see that it states that an advisor will call you back! I have dealt with CPR for the last 2 years and they are GREAT ! Its so peaceful because they HAVE stopped my calls and it costs me less than £4 a month ! - Ziva replies to Karen CoffeyThe only way they can get your number is if its registered on their website.
- Dave SwindellThe above number is registered to The Call Prevention Registry along with 0800 652 7780.
They deal with stopping unwanted nuisance calls and they are a legitimate company. I've been
registered with the supposed FREE TPS (Telephone Preference Service) since god knows when
and I've tried re-registering with them time and time again because I constantly keep getting these
pain in the [***] calls up to 5-10 times a day, sometimes over 30 a week. YES, it is that bad even
while on TPS, I keep getting told my number is already listed and it can't be listed again. So to all
you people moaning about CPR being a scam...read on. I looked online for another FREE service
that deals with these calls and there just AREN'T any ok...THERE AREN'T ANY, so don't bother
looking. The Call Prevention Registry (www.callpreventionregistry.co.uk) was the first site that popped
up doing a search and I read through their website thoroughly and checked the terms and conditions
with a fine tooth comb. They say they AIM to reduce 100% of calls within 28 days. What they do is
remove your telephone details from all the WORLDWIDE sales lists. Apparently these are called
DATA HOUSES and it's these data houses that store your information and sell it on. This is how the TPS make their money. They sell their data lists to direct marketing companies telling them you don't wish to be called. They charge up to £5,000.00 for doing this. (I couldn't believe this when I read it, so technically, they aren't even FREE, they charge the companies for their data). Call Prevention Registry DON'T do this, they make their data lists available to all companies worldwide for FREE (which is why they charge US a fee of £39.99 for ANY 3 numbers to be registered...mobiles included) This is a small price to pay in my honest opinion to get rid of these calls. Their website does state also, that this a yearly fee if you want to stay with them and keep them refreshing your details to keep your calls down at the absolute minimum. This keeps the sales lists updated and if you continue to get calls after 28 days, you ring their number above and let them know, then they pass the callers' info over to The Information Commissioners Office (ICO) who can apparently get these nuisances fined anything up to £500.000.00. I signed up staright away but wasn't entirely happy with renewing every year so what they did for me was give me one of their All-in-One Call Blockers to keep with the service. This device is even better than the service they said, so I decided to give it a whirl after reading some excellent reviews for the device on Amazon.co.uk. Read this if you don't believe me...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B004B ... nDateDescending
Since registering over 8 months ago, my calls have dropped significantly as they said they would. I do still get a slight few creep through but NOTHING like I was getting. More like 1-3 a month now. But I have my call blocker to hand and I just block them with the block now button or input certain codes to stop them ringing. If you add these two products up (CPR Registry = £39.99 & CPR Call Blocker = £59.99 = £99.98) I've been assured I don't need to renew my registry if I don't want too, but I can keep the Call Blocker so this is what I'm going to do when the year is up.
So instead of dissing a company that are trying to help you, get your facts correct first ok. I have recommended the service and call blocker to my family and friends and they are as chuffed as I am.
Thanks so much for a wonderful service CPR.
Dave - SYKOThis number is the Call Protection Agency also known as CPR Global. Avoid! I was foolish enough to sign up to them for a few years. The fee charged is supposed to be for a year but I realized they were coming back looking for money long before the current year was up. The latest time not even 9 months had elapsed! They were quite rude on the phone. As to wether they stopped any calls remains to be seen. I still get them.
SCAM and total waste of money.- Caller: CPR Global
- David Swindell| 3 repliesA scam is it, yeah ok then? Have a look at the top left of this website...what is now advertised there?
ONLY THE CPR ALL-IN-ONE CALLBLOCKER I mentioned to you all. It's even cheaper now than what I paid for it. Grab yourself a bargain here folks. My calls have completely stopped now with their service (even though it took a few refreshes on their systems) and my callblocker is the best thing since sliced bread. Seriously, give them a try, what have you got to lose except the nuisance calls persistently pestering you. - Nan replies to David Swindell| 2 repliesThe problem is, there are two different things here. There is the "little black box" call blocker, which is superb. There is also a company with a similar name which claims to stop your calls for a fee and which claims to work in a similar way to TPS. That company is similar to TAPA and is, basically a waste of money. You will note that the CPR Call Blocker is from the Call PREVENTION Agency, and the phone pests are the Call PROTECTION Agency. The latter are obviously relying on peoples confusion to sell their "service".
- Dave Swindell replies to Nan| 1 replyMaybe, I don't know, but I do know that CPR GLOBAL (Call Prevention Registry) are the company that distribute the CPR All in one CallBlocker for £39.99 and they can also put you on their registry list www.callpreventionregistry.co.uk (which is better than Telephone Preference Service because that doesn't work, hence why it's free). With CPR you get the call blocker and registry for £39.99 or just the registry for £39.99 if the callblocker can't be used for whatever reason. Still the best company I've come across for stopping calls.
- Sandie| 4 repliesI have just registered with TPS as I am so fed up with receiving unwanted calls. Since registering I have received around 6 calls from this number in the past 24 hours. I am glad I have read some of the messages on here about it being a scam. I am going to buy a whistle and blow it very hard down the phone, not just to this number but all the other unsolicited calls I am receiving.
- KRUG replies to Sandie| 3 repliesYou haven't registered with TPS, you've registered with CallPrevention Registry, www.callpreventionregistry.co.uk hence that's why they are calling you. Answer the phone and tell them if you are not interested or stop being so stupid registering for wrong sites thinking they are the crappy free TPS service...which don't work for the millionth time, CPR does. Period...
- Sandie replies to KRUG| 2 repliesI have answered the phone to them, I am registered with TPS AND the one you mentioned. Thank you very much for your advice anyway and I am far from stupid as you mentioned.
By the way it is rude to send a message in block capitals it is deemed as shouting! - Krug replies to Sandie| 1 replyI wasn't implying you were stupid Sandy, I meant the situation in general. People register with CPR thinking they are TPS, when they are not and it clearly states this on their website. It also states there is a one off charge of £39.99 and that an agent will contact you to discuss if you want the service or not.
- shazo| 1 replyi registered with them beginning of 2012 as I was sick and tired of being bombadred with calls despite being registered with TPS for many years. about September they called for a renewal 3 months early i told them that i didn't want to renew as I didn't feel that it had made any difference to the calls i was receiving. I have now started receiving calls from this number for the last week. I googled to see what it was. As they have tended to phone when I have been out no message is being left. As I have caller display i will use that and just pay the extra money to my telephone provided to allow me to block calls
- KRUG replies to shazoShazo, perhaps they are phoning you to offer you a free call blocker to keep you protected, have you thought of that.

Hidden away within a mass of dense text is:
"The customer shall make payment of all sums due under this Agreement including the Companies minimum payments and usual annual support charges where appropriate"
If you read the entire T & C page it appears to equate to a perpetual rolling subscription trap. You are not only buying a unit, but inadvertently signing up to a service by stealth. Naturally, as with all of these scams, there is no mention of the precise amount involved. Those caught out will no doubt shortly complain about these hidden charges on here..

Bogus TPS Calls
The Telephone Preference Service is completely free to consumers.
TPS will not call a subscriber of the service to ask for personal details or payment to complete a registration.
If you have registered via the web and have received an e-mail confirmation and clicked on the attached link, that's it! Your number will be registered for FREE with TPS.
We will not contact you again in relation to your registration (unless you have number(s) registered with the Corporate TPS, where we will contact you annually by email to renew your subscription - this is still a free service).
If you do receive a call from someone claiming to be from the TPS or a similar sounding organisation, asking for personal information or charging you for this service, our advice is to not pay or give them any personal details, it is most likely a scam.
We are aware of a number of organisations that call from overseas, possibly India claiming to be TPS or affiliated with TPS or BT. They ask for your credit card details to complete a registration to stop unwanted calls. They often claim that you previously gave your permission for this call. This is a scam. Never give out your credit card details over the phone.
The names of some of these organisations, given to us by consumers are:
Alien Touch
SAIS Corp Ltd
Icon Global Services
IG Services
ITC
Biztek (or Bisdek) Telecomms
Consumer Advice Bureau
- our advice is NOT to pay them.
Beware of Unregulated Companies Charging For Their Service! <<<<<<<<<<££££
There are other companies that are not necessarily scams but they are not TPS. They usually claim to offer a similar or even an enhanced service to TPS.
They make exaggerated claims about the effectiveness of their service and may even suggest that TPS does not work.
Some of these companies are listed below:
CPR Global (previously known as the Call Prevention Registry) <<<<<<<<<<<<< ££££

Although we are on the telephone preference service list, we still sometimes get cold calls. One day we had two odd (didnt sound like the normal c/c's) in a couple of hours, followed later that day with a call from CPR Global (Call Prevention Register), who claim to be complimentary to the TPS, but charge for their service.
He would not send details by post, insisted that I needed to sign up for 3 years then and there, and - somehow - had the last digits of my credit card, which, he implied, proved he was working in conjungtion with BT!
I do STRONGLY suspect the cold calls were linked to this.

WHOIS lookup made at 23:57:50 29-Mar-2013 - Kevin (CPR) replies to Indestry| 5 repliesHello There
Can I correct you on what you are saying about The CPR Global Service & Callblocker.
(1.) We offer our customers two services. One is our www.callpreventionregistry.co.uk database.
This service enables any customer that signs their details on our website to add any 3 telephone numbers (landlines/mobiles of anyone) they so wish onto our registry. After 28 days, we AIM to
STOP ALL unwanted calls from anywhere that may be calling them. This service is a yearly fee of £39.99 and it clearly states this under the terms and conditions of our website. We charge customers this fee because we employ staff that operate around the clock to keep your telephone numbers off these data marketing warehouses data lists which get sold onto 3rd party companies. If the customer also reports any calls to us that may seem to keep coming through, we refresh the customers details constantly on our database to keep them removed and we then pass the details of the cold callers onto our data protection house, who then phone and warn these compnaies to remove the customers details from all such lists. Failure to do so within 14 days will result in the data protection house contacting the I.C.O (Information Commissioners Office) and reporting the offenders to them. The I.C.O are then in charge of deciding whether to fine these cold callers, which could be anywhere from £5.000.00 - £500.000.00 depending on the seriousness of the cold callers offences.
As customers are probably aware, there is also a FREE T.P.S service (Telephone Preference Service) available, but this company is associated with the direct marketing association themselves and they are like the exact offenders who sell your details onto companies to simply telll them you don't wish to be called. Companies don't have to agree to this, because they are not obliged to buy/download the direct marketing data lists which cost them £5.000.00 to do so, and rightly so, why should they? This is also how the T.P.S (Telephone Preference Service) make their money. No company can protect over 15 million customers for FREE, it just doesn't work. Everything in life costs money. Not only that but T.P.S are only about 32-54% successful in REDUCING (not stopping) UK calls only. They also can't deal with SILENT, INTERNATIONAL, or any types of CHARITY/MARKETING calls (which are the worst calls).
Our registry can do all of this and it can be renewed every year for £39.99 but it's completely up to the customer themselves. They don't have to renew the service if they don't want to, and we will never force them to renew. We constantly look out for our customers, and want to provide the best service available, which is why we sometimes offer them one of our unique Call Blocker devices to assist with the service in stopping ALL such nuisance calls.
(2.) We also sell a unique patented product called The CPR All-in-One Call Blocker and this product costs a one-off payment of £39.99. This is only a one-off payment and the device is yours to keep forever. Inside the box, there is a card offering you a FREE year subscription to try our www.callpreventionregistry.co.uk database along with any 3 numbers you choose to register if you so wish. Again, this is just an extra value double protection on top of the call blocker.
The Call Blocker device simply plugs in between your phone and telephone line and can be programmed to block ALL sorts of calls, no matter where they are calling from. If you really want ALL nuisance calls to stop, this little gadget is the best thing on the market. Our product DOES stop ALL types of calls and it can be programmed to block WITHHELD, INTERNATIONAL, OUT OF AREA, PRIVATE, UNAVAILABLE, & '0' DIGIT SPOOF callers, plus it can block area codes to combat the
ongoing problems with P.P.I companies constantly changing their numbers around. It also blocks
JUNK FAXES, SILENT and IP VOIP Dialing systems. In fact, the possibilities are endless with our Call Blocker.
If possible, we would like you to please remove this false statement about our company and product as it's completely not true with anything that you have said. Possibly, you are a competitor trying to ridicule our company/product to future/fellow buyers.
If any interested buyers are interested in our Registry Service/Call Blocker or both, please simply ring
us on freephone 0800 652 7780 so we can talk to you about what it entails. Rest assured, you will get the truth and fully understand how our comapany works, before listening to false posts on sites just like this. These are obviously coming from people who clearly don't know what they are talking about and just interested in causing tit for tat arguments.
The reviews on our fantastic product speak for themselves. Just check out the statistics from Amazon and also how our call blocker compares to our competitors...
