- GetYourFactsRight| 2 repliesYou are all a bunch of [***], the only reason you would be called by this number is if you willingly registered your details on the website... they are not cold callers and what they do is not a scam..... the company is called the call prevention registry, they are a great company who provides a service for stopping unwanted sales and marketing calls, yes they do charge for the service but £39.99 is a small price to pay if you are getting alot of nuisance calls, so before you come on here mouthing off get your facts right and learn to read properly, everything you need to know is stated on the website, they do not hide anything as they are trading standards approved and recommended by all police forces in the UK.

- Get Your Facts Right replies to DavidThe only reason you would have received a call from them is if you registered you details on the website. They are not cold callers.
oh and its TPS not TPR... - Suejenx replies to GetYourFactsRight| 1 reply£39.99 would be a small price to pay if the service actually worked. I was registered for two years - the first year was great but the second year was a dismal failure and I would not pay them any money again. I have had this phone number listed on my caller display every day for the last three to four weeks which is actually more annoying that the nuisance calls. If they actually wanted to speak to me then they could leave a message on my answerphone asking me to ring them back.
I will not be going anywhere near them again - get your facts right replies to SuejenxWell if you were registered before and the first year was fine you must of been the one to blame for the second year not working not then.... if you are being called by this number it ain't them cause they don't call people over and over again.... it is probably a nuisance caller just spoofing there telephone number cause it does happen.... companies abroad find a number that is of a good business and spoof that number so that they cant be traced... these people specialise in what they do..... yeah maybe there is a free service available but it is run by a direct marketing association.. which!! Guess what direct marketing associations do??...... they sell on your details to other companies so they can keep getting money.... just look at WHICH they did a survey on people registered with the TPS and it showed that people who are registered with them get more nuisance calls than the people who aren't registered so that's proof right there and the fact that the TPS have just come out and said that they are not a call blocking or barring service....
- mr matthews| 2 repliesreading some of these comments i can't help but laugh..... seriously people they are trading standards and police approved and you don't get those people backing you if your a "scam" the only way cpr would contact you is if you enter your details online.... also the price is stated on the right hand side where you enter your number... people don't take enough time to read these things and then are quick enough to jump on the band wagon of they are a "scam" nothing but keyboard warriors with nothing else better to do than write bad reviews about a company who would help you out in the first place... i have been a customer for two years and my calls have stopped.... yes ok they charge but you know your getting a service... since when has something free been any good ? well done cpr thanks once again most appreciated.

- Nan replies to mr matthews| 1 replyAs you are so pleased with them why are you posting on a site to report unknown, unwanted and scam calls and share information? As you claim that CPR are not a scam, I will tell you of my experience with them and then see what you think. An elderly friend, who had just been widowed, could not cope with the cold calls she was getting. She contacted her 'phone provider and was advised to buy a CPR Call Blocker. She was told by her 'phone provider that it would be a one off payment.
She duly bought the unit, paying with her card. Five months later (note the time) she found that CPR had taken more money from her account. As she is Dyslexic I tried to deal with CPR on her behalf. I was informed that the money they had taken was her "Annual Subscription". So they had taken money she did not know they were going to charge five months before the so called subscription was due. Not the work of an ethical company. I eventually got her a refund. Incidentally Trading Standards and the Police do not approve companies. That is most against the rules. CPR do, however, appear on the TPS warning list as a company which promises much, delivers little and charges for it.. - mr matthews replies to NanI thought i would share my opinion as people don't seem to appreciate what the company does, there will always be people who complain that is obvious but in comparison to all those they have helped including "myself" it is very small, i understand that they had taken money early and i bet that was a geniune mistake i have had companys in the past that have taken money early but have always been refunded, like you had a refund from cpr? this just shows how legit the company is, if they where a scam they would not have given you a refund would they ? maybe you have just had a bad customer experience but i bet the call blocker worked ? i bought one for my mother who is in her 80's and its fantsastic.
- Don| 2 repliesWhat a load of [***], this is a scam company as it happened to a family member today (11.4.14. Asking for credit card details, amount in account and all other info then trying to extract $700 +. Lucky I have a bank who are on to this and have indentified the scam. The did take their $61 but we're on to them.
- Caller: CPR Global
- DonInteresting that you cannot contact them unless registering a phone number. Nobody one answers and u are requested to leave a phone number. then the BS starts!
- Nan replies to DonI think "Mr Matthews" may have a vested interest in making this company look good. His original post appeared 7ndays after the previous post, which means it would not have appeared on the Homepage of this site. This means that he would have had to make a concerted effort to input the 'phone number and see what was written about CPR. Why would you do that if you were so satisfied with them? He says that taking money five months early for something that the customer did not know they owed must have been a mistake. Why then did it take a call to Action Fraud and several e-mails to CPR to get the money back? He also has not repeated his claims that this company is recommended by Trading Standards and the Police and that is because they are untrue.
- Merle| 1 replyI am also getting calls from this number and they sometimes use an 0845 number. I bought one of their call blockers but it doesn't work and now can't get hold of them. Have phoned and it just goes to answer phone and also emailed saying I want my money back but still getting no response. If you want a call blocker that works I can give you a freephone number at a cost of £39 and they also set it up for you.

- Roger replies to DonI am surprised to find so many negative messages about this company. It is not a scam by any means. Unless you get a call asking if you are interested in call blocking then I advise you to think before you jump to conclusions.
I am just a Pensioner that had so many calls that were the real scam of the earth types. I joined CPR and yes, you do have to pay to have these numbers excluded and dealt with in a professional manner. All the calls I reported to CPR were dealt with and in the 5 years or more I've been with them I no longer get the same calls. All I'm doing now is getting the odd one now and then, of which I deal with them by way of the CPR Global Call Blocker box. Just enter the number and they're blocked.
I had 2 calls today, one from a company I am already registered with and reason for not answering was because they were probably calling about asking if my service was okay and they would surely badger me and offer further services.
Second call today was not answered because like every call I don't recognise I check first on Google. It was CPR and the only reason why they called was because I was near renewal time. I didn't want to lose the service and if I cancelled the account then that would mean that all the numbers that I had reported to them would be released from their data base and I would then probably get them all over again. So better safe than sorry I renewed the contract. It's well worth it for £39 a year.
So if you don't know if company can be trustworthy you have to give them the benefit of the doubt and hear them out first. CPR I would never have no doubt about whether they could assist me in my plight, because those calls just can't be dealt with in a simple reply of "Not interested" because somehow or other they WILL call you again. - VERY ANNOYED!!!I really thought I had heard the last from this lot of scumbags!!! But NO here we go again, when will they get the message - I was stupid enough to sign up for a year BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE A BLIND BIT OF DIFFERENCE-YOU ARE A BUNCH OF LIARS!

- TimUtterly unbelievable, a call prevention company making unwanted/unsolicited sales calls! I have told these idiots loads of times to stop calling me and I have now reported them to the ICO.

BT do a very good call blocker phone for at £50, guaranteed to stop 100% of unwanted calls. I had one installed 2 months ago and recommend it to any one. - bob| 1 replyJust a little niggle. Your BT phone stops 100% of all unwanted calls. You got an unwanted call from the number in this thread? It does not compute.
- Hmmm .... replies to bobWell, "retired man" gives a small hint, ie "renew contract" so they're not currently on his DNC list & now he's found a simpler/cheaper/better option via his new BT phone. Why doesn't that 'compute' 4 U?
