I got my first call yesterday 31 December  and  again today it was a text voice nsg....got on to Telstra faults they told me there are charges to RECEIVE THE CALL  and are now in the process  of turning the service OFF

both my partner and i have no idea what this number is, it shows up when i press the button with a person and ? next to it, neither of us know what it is thats why i googled it lol. so should i call it and see what happends? from what i have read it a load of crap... ok i will give it a go, will let you know what happends.........1:09pm....... it hung up..........and again... ok fine :P

18 missed calls on answering machine none of which left any messages. Last one was 1st January 2010 at 8.41am. Nothing since then. Very weird.

This number has been calling us at least every hour today, even during the early hours of the morning. I will be contacting Telstra about this ASAP.

I got a "talking text" late last night, supposedly from a mobile number that I'm not familiar with.  Some weird message about "thankyou for the lovely weekend"  can't remember all of it now.

Yeah I got a message on the 26th may with a belated birthsday wish from sexy ?? someone, I automatically turned to my hubby and went what??? Anyways i cant beleive in this dayu and age nobody is taking responsiblity for this, I better not get charged for it too ....

Yeah I have been getting a call every 30minutes since 4 this afternoon so far i have got 22 calls all from the same number??? Like what the hell

  I had the same thing happen to me today at 12.40 victorian time and the message said the same thing.
I was not happy as i didn't know who it was but i know now i am not the only one out there getting these horrible messages on my home phone.
Lets hope something can be done about this as telsta this is not right.....

I got x2 messages today on my home phone saying i have a verbal message so i listened on and it told a young girl has been hit with a stick and now it to happen to you. and it hung up 12.40am
And at 4.45 pm i got another one and i answered and it said to pass this on to 10 people and nothing f....ing happens not happy and i will be speaking to telstra tommorrow to report this people just wish i knew who it was.GRRRRR

i have received numerous calls from this number. thhe messages have pornographic contact and spoken voice messages are left on my answering machine.

Apparently telstra will not lodge a fault with this number. Or do not know where or who it comes from, all they can say that it comes from a modem line.
You would think that they would notify the originator? Bloody idiots.

Both my boyfriend and mum got a message from this number.

tracked down where message came from,this is a number from a centre that sends out messages,that 99% of the time are meant for you,after a frustrating 1 1/2hrs,i now know that the message was from a friend,trying to tell me he has his first grandchild,not that i am a grandfather,hope the rest of you work out where who sent your messages

non stop calls with verbal text messages.

I had a missed call from 0198339100 on my land line (which is thru Pennytel VOIP).

No one was home to answer it so it went to msg bank, which automatically emails a copy of the msg in .WAV file to my eamil address.

At the end of the rude msg it gave the mobile number it was sent from. However I can't quite make out the 3rd last number, either a 1 or a 9. Niether of the combinations of numbers are in my address book in my phone so I don't who it is.

I called it last nite trying the 9 and got some guy who denied calling me (or really txt'ing me). It is possible to send sms's to landlines (text to talk).

In most of the cases above it looks to be spam which sux balls when your getting them at all hours of the nite I agree. My msg sounded a bit like an sms I had read before that was just a rude joke. I'm putting it down as some dumb ass sending an sms to the wrong number.

Sorry about the long post :) hope it helps clear up a bit of the confussion about where these calls are coming from.

This number has called me in the past with no messages, however on wednesday 4th August an electronic message came through. Message: This is my new mobile number; 0459952376.
Anyone shed any light on this?
