- monkeyHi, wondered if anyone can help? I have a friend who started with a company about a year and 6 months ago and I am totally stuck as to what i can do to convince them to leave.
She is now a manager but still working 70 hours + a week and for pretty crap money. She believes this company is amazing and has been taught not to have negative thoughts about the company and to remove all negativity in her life. She has since moved away, lives in a shared house with 4 other people who work for the same company, has hardly any contact with family or friends ( was once the party/outgoing person of the group) and has even moved away from her partner she has been with for 7 years.
I thought it was just her and that she was making some silly decisions but after reading all this so call ed 'cult' stuff on the net i am really worried and have no idea what to do. It's like they have completely changed her personality and who and what she stood for.
Please help!!!
Her idol is JOSH COTE! - Depf replies to Gary| 3 replies"If it is a scam then why wouldnt the authorities get involved and close them down???... after all they havent moved to another location they stay where they are!" - Gary.
But they do change their name quite a bit...not dodgy at all to do that then... - Dave replies to Depf| 2 repliesJust like Marathon changed their name to Snickers, or Glaxo Limited to GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited, or The National Childrens Homes to Action for Children.....
I could go on but why not check this link out and you will see how common it is for companies to cange names - http://www.appuonline.com/company/information/changes/name1.html
A change in a company name can be for a number of reasons!
The main reason these guys have to refreshtheir names is definatly because f forums like this one!
If they were scammers then they wouldnt bother spending a small fortune on doing things like that in order to scam what out of people????? as far as i am aware they never ask for any money from anyone, they pay people for generating clients for their clients! They dont hide this fact and never have.... believe it or not it is how business has ran ince business began... one person pays another to provide a service............ makes sense to me! - Daniel replies to sarahHiya, did u actually attend their interview? cos I applied through one of the online job agency and I ve been contacted by them and ask me to do a interview in couple of days.I just want to know are they a proper company or there one of those that try to sell some product to u?
thanks - SmithI came across there advert for a Junior position in Events marketing, targeting graduates and thought this would be an amazing opportunity as i am looking to go into events management, since applying i had a few people i know (marketing manager and a M.D.) look over the position and both came back saying this is very dodgy!
I am supposed to go for an interview this afternoon, i need all the experience in interviews i can get however, am not going to waste my time! especially as the feedback im likely to get will undoubtedly not be genuine.
I have emailed London Green Marketing this morning to ask quite bluntly if the job role is 100% Commission based... am yet to hear back.
After all i have read i seriously doubt i will be going!
Thanks guys for telling it how it is!- Caller: LondonGreenMarketing

- deedee replies to Monikai agree totally! i worked for ea worldwide for 6 months. it was exhausting and i didnt always make that good money but it was a great experience and has helped me massively in getting other jobs. when i worked there it was under managers names hector montalvo and josh cote in london bridge
- misdemeanorHi I went for my first interview with source marketing... i had an interview with hector and basically they just fed me aload of [***] about the companies they work for and what a great opportunity it would be...they asked if I can come back tommorow for the day in the field. I mean when you go in they ply you with all the stuff you want to see, it looks like a funky young office, everyone seems friendly and there are so many people there they couldn't possibly all be mugs??.... but they are all really young, and look this job is the first time they've had to wear a suit to work. Why do they come back becuase the people, it probably has a good social atmosphere and if it is your only hope for work...work i work i guess but it is wrong.....They are likeable they play on all your basic needs and they try and pair you with poeple you can identify with so you want to get to know them more and can picture yourself working thier. I went to one of the open days years ago when i was fresh out of uni and they were called fosters marketing and then it seemed like a scam...i spent all day walking the streets with these guys selling victoria jackson products. i kept getting told what a great star she was but who the hell is she? Also i mentioned this to hector and he got a bit shifty...just brushed it off like oh lots of companies do open days these days... i thought it was also strange that i got a call from another company in the same building on the same morning for a commiession based job and was told that they were totally unrelated....
I dont know if its a scam in the sense of legally.. but it is misleading and they are exploiting people that just want jobs. It may be beneficial for some people just to develop their sales skills etc.. but for the most part would avoid it like the plague.. its a real shame though...- Caller: source marketing

- LadiAfter having read the comments by all of you, i decided not to attend the interview :-) Beware people this is SCAM! SCAM! ....... When they phoned me the lady sounded so needy and kept sayin "feel relaxed this is not an interview and ur the first one to call today, great". That sounded dodgy already.

- Lee replies to Dave"Marathon changed to Snickers"
What an absolutely ridiculous analogy. Marathon was not the company, it was bring the name in line with the rest of the world hence saving on production costs and separate advertising campaigns. Like Jif became Cif in the UK.
Glaxo became GlaxosmithKline due to a merger. This is common business practice in such cases and is done for sound reasons. Like AOL/Time Warner.
These companies change names because they shut down and reopen to avoid scrutiny.
Anyone with true business sense knows this is essentially a scam.
Its based on lies and the same techniques used on customers are employed on staff.
They have been around for thirty years. As many offices as they open just as many shut down. They don't tell you that. Add up the numbers they would be the only company in the world if what they said was true. It does not add up. Managers don't actually 'own' their own company.
I would guess less than 1/100 becomes an owner. An offices chances of survival are 50/50 if they lose a contract they will be cut loose and go under. That is not a normal corporate structure at all.
Its bizarre. Some people have made alot of money out of this. The mangers lie though about the money they make and the environment (were it not self employed contracts) would not be able to exist.
Only their bizarre business model allows them to get around it. By finding loopholes and skirting legality essentially.
Anyone with genuine skills or qualifications can make better money for far less risk than this.
Ask yourself what company promotes someone after 4 weeks? Is a so called MD after 6 months?
The whole thing is frankly ridiculous. Get rich quick. Open an office, have a contract, hit the area. Get idiots to knock on doors for 80 hours a week. Collect the cash then when it goes tits up collect the money and run. - j89WHAT YOU LOT ON ABOUT ITS NOT SLAVE LABOUR, ITSA GOOD JOB YOU GET CALLED FOR A SECOND INTERVIEW IF YOU PASS THE FIRST SO YOU CAN GO ON A OBSERVATION DAY ON THE SECOND...WHERE YOU JUST OBSERVER SOME ONE WHO ALREADY WORKS THEY EG A LEADER...THE MONEY IS EXCELLENT ONCE YOU START...BUT YOU HAVE A 6 DAY TRAINING COURSE AND A TEST WHICH IS ALL BASED IN DOORS, WHERE YOU WOULD HAVE HAD YOUR INTERVIEW WHICH IS PRETTY STARIGHT FORWARD...
- Joe PYes this is definately a scam,
i worked for the same company but under a diffrent name it was called b2b...... something or another, i cant remember.
i attended an informal interview initially and was called that evening to be told that they would like to do a 2nd interview and then i would be told if i had got the job........ and i did.
i started work at 8.30 and on my first day i did no selling, just walking from door to door watching some peppy stuck up [***] of a manager asking to enter peoples homes and ask for their credit cards to verifie for a partially government funded wall cavity scam crap which is what your selling. In the pissing down rain somewhere in strawberry hill. i didnt return to the office until 11pm that evening.
the second evening was spent walking door to door in the freezing winter temperatures somewhere in Richmond, however i was allowed to sell under supervision of the "manager" who i though was "too happy to be dodgy" and once again i didnt finish until about 11pm.
On the third day I left the manager and everybody else in the pack of salesmen that were flooding to the station after the briefing in the basement they call an office at 9am, jumped on a bus and i never returned, i thought it was dodgy when they didnt even attempt to contact me not even to ask why i had left.
i worked for them for 3 days, sold 4 of their products and spent at least £30 in travel alone because of the looooong destinations you are made to go to and i live in deep north london so south london isnt cheap on the overground trains and the manager never even covered the travel expenses of his employees although he travelled with me every day.
i called a family member who happens to practice law and received twenty pounds the following month but it wasn't easy.
im sorry about the length of this but i wanted to warn people the longer ur there the more you lose.- Caller: B2B 1-5 bath street 2009

First and foremost, companies never ever ask you to ring them. So already I was alerted by this. I have been looking for week since September 2010 so I am aware what is genuine and truthful to what is not! This most certainly rings true to be a SCAM!! It may pay but it seems rather vivid to what they offer or do and after reading all these reviews I will not waste my time nor money for a job which would not support me in any sense of the word. Disgraceful and I will make Reed aware of this as they should sort this out ASAP & shouldn't allow companies like this to prey on genuine unemployed people looking for work. Shame on you LONDONGREENMARKETING...................................................- Caller: London Green Marketing Ltd

You recently applied for the opening we have available in our Waterloo, London branch. Myself and the Manager here have been reviewing applications and he asked me to contact you to establish a little bit more about yourself and your current situation.
As mentioned in our advert we are hoping to move quite quickly with this position, most likely holding interviews sooner rather than later! if you could give me a call on the number below as soon as possible to go over a few things that would be great.
Look forward to hearing from you (your name)
