I have just read your post with utter disbelief.  If that is your attitude then it is good that you no longer work for a charity.  Passing over the fact that you do not understand the difference between the words "all" and "majority" when denigrating posters on this site, your lack of understanding is clear and your reasoning is flawed.  Recently, I wished to make an anonymous donation to UNICEF, but was told that I could not donate unless I gave my details, including telephone number, I could not donate!. So I didn't.  Being pensioners our income is limited, but we do donate to three charities, one of which is the Red Cross.  A few months ago we had a 'phone call from the company which deals with charity donations asking us to double our Red Cross Donation.  Even though I explained our financial situation the caller continued to harrass me for about 10 minutes, until I had to tell him that I would cancel my DD to the Red Cross it he did not stop and that I never wanted another call. We never get called by the other chrities, to whom we contribute directly. I fully understand peoples' annoyance with these calls and would suggest that they donate directly.

mine is on behalf of water aid, they call every 6 months to ask me to increase donation. Don't answer if you can, i have never managed to get them off the phone without increasing donation!

This is a company which represents various charities and rings you to try and get you to give money via Direct Decit.

i'm sick and tired of this number calling me a thousand times a day every day! MAKE IT STOP PLEASE!

Next time they call, I shall call them if they would be interested in donations of piss and [***] and see themselves well satisfied. Will ask them to give me their address and I will hand-deliver it for their pleasure.

It's unicef, If you made a recent donation and are a UK tax payer they can claim gift aid on you behalf. It doesnt cost you anything all they require is your address and some other minor details.

Called twice today from this number, they disconnect as soon as we answer.

I downloaded the depaul app on my iPhone and donated some money...

The call was to try and get me to sign up to send reguar payments of £30...

As much as I think giving to charity is excellent, I don't think you should be emotionally backmailed into giving monthly.

I usually let it ring when this number calls. Today I answered, and it was the National Trust. I said I hadn't time to talk and they said they'd call again. Not sure I'll answer.....

That's odd, for me they say it's Childrens Society. I've never donated to them, so wondered where they got my number. Either it's one call centre making calls for lots of charities...or they can't decide who they are....could smell a bit dodgy, but when-ever I've spoken to them hasn't seemed so. Just so happens they keep calling me when I'm in the middle of something....going into an interview, waiting for confirmation calls on jobs, on the phone at work, so I keep hanging up on them. They keep perservering though...feels like a battle of wills!!!

Its from a company called Listen, which like others have said are calling on behalf of charities, if you call back the number they dont answer, they just give you another number: 0207-619-7888  to be removed from the list, all you have to do is give them your number and the ref. GEN, and they should remove you from their list, but it can take 3 days, I've written to the Telephone Ombudsmen, about it, so I'll wait and see what happens, but if they call me again, I will be having a go at them

Our phone is on the Telephone Preference Service list so NO ONE should be cold calling. And it is completely wrong to tell us that we have to call another number to get removed from their list. Under the TSP rules the telepest should automatically remove a TSP-listed number (or not dial it in the first place!)

What do these stupid charities think they're doing? Don;t they realise how they alienate potential donors?

Didn't answer the phone but they didn't leave a message.
