Donated to soccer aid and now and at least 3 calls a day.

Its a Charity...when you call the recorded messages says
"You have been called by a charity, and dont worrie we will call again"...GREAT! ha ha
It also gives a number for you to call and leave your name/number and quote a ref number to cancel these calls...ps I didnt leave anything and just hung up

I've been receiving calls from this number for two weeks.  There is never anyone on the line when I answer!  I've answered everytime and got silence on the line.  I've then dialled 1471 to check the number calling me and it is this same number every time.  02076197597.  I donate to two charities, one is British Red Cross (direct debit) a few months ago.  The other is ActionAid which I became a sponsor for 1 month ago (direct debit).  I've looked on this forum but cannot see anyone else who has donated to these charities, in fact everyones experience seems different except for the same telephone number.

The reason everyone's complaints seem to be different is that this a commercial company representing lots of different charities and taking a cut of our donations as payment.  The charities seem to think this is a good way of raising funds but, personally, I prefer all my donation to go direct to the charity rather than fund aggressive 'phone pests.  These people even seem to use random auto dialling which results in so many silent calls.I came across them when they spent 10 minutes trying to persuade us to double our Red Cross donation, even though we told them we were pensioners on a limited income. Eventually, as they would not end the call, I told them if they ever rang again I would cancel my donation completely. No more calls.

I keep getting calls from this number daily and its startign to get real old. I've never answered it, but might end up having to to tell them to STOP CALLING ME!

Just had two calls from the 02076197597 number, when I answer the phone goes dead, when I rang back it was a recorded message purporting to come from some charity.  It was such a gabbled message I don't know which charity, but I've had enough, one time it was 5am!!!!  How can I block these calls.

Just had a missed call on my mobile from the number in question (ending 97). I too donated to SoccerAid. I am a little annoyed that they think that gives them the right to start calling me... It has put me off donating through text ever again.

I have also recieve calls from this number, i have never answerd the phone when i see this number. I cannot understand how they got my number, as i have only had this number a few months  and have not given it out to any organization or like wise. I have signed up with TPS and it is supposed to stop calls like this. The only calls that are allowed are ones that i have given permission to or genuine market reasearch companies.

had a few missed calls off this number recently, answered today and it is a follow up call from a text donation i made a few weeks ago. from a company called Listen, working on behalf of Oxfam. called to ask if i wanted to make monthly donations.

This pest calls at any time even Saturdays, dont know who they are but next time I am tempted to tell them to go forth and multiply!

Andrew, the number is a generic charity

This is a telemarketing agency that works for charities. In the majority of cases either you will have given permission to be contacted by a charity by phone, or for the charity to share your details with third parties. What you need to do is to contact the charity that the agency works for and ask for the details of the mailing list owner. If you then contact the mailing list owner asking to be removed this will stop your data being shared around further.

Matt, are you saying the company name is "Listen"?  Can't find any info on web about such a company.  I was called and spoke to someone but although the name was given I did not catch it.  They wanted me to arrange a direct debit to a charity I am a member of and which I usually pay by cheque.  Seemed legitimate enough.

Have found the website" listenuk.org".  I think this is the company that is ringing everyone.  They are employed by charities.  The charities in question must have given Listen your numbers.

They then had the audacity to text me about dontating more or text them back STOP and they will stop hassling me , been ringing me once a week for about a month now
