Nowadays charities are run like a business and want your money to pay for the big salaries and perks they award the fat cats at the top.I went into fundraising, wanting to do my bit but left very delusioned at the way these charities operate. They're not bothered if you've completed a fun run, donated clothes etc. the bottom line is you need to sign up for a direct debit so they know they're going to be bank rolled for at least a year. Far better to donate your time. As for Listen, they get paid to make calls, it's a business. But it's not the poor Joes on the phone that are making the money, only the company directors. And if you don't get at least 4 sign up's regularly in a shift you're out.

Yesterday i made a phone txt charity donation to 70007 that i had heard on the radio. i had a txt thanking me for my donation the charity was for deaf and blind children. Today i have a missed call from 02076197597
is this abuse of the data protection law ?

keep getting calls from this number, not leaving a message so I can't identify the caller

this caller continues to call....how can I stop them

Try disconnecting the lead that runs from the telephone to the socket.

I have received a call yesterday and a call today. They were both missed calls but when I went to return the call to see who it was as I did not recognise the number it said the line was engaged. I haven't and don't give my number out to people I don't know.

I believe this is a common number used by many different charities.  

I have been getting calls from this number several times a day since I sent a small donation to that text santa thing over the holiday.  This is where they have linked up with my number I guess.  The call never lasts long enough for me to answer as each time I do, I end up with a dead line.

I just wish there was a law against businesses calling your phone when they have got your number in this way.  They start to irritate rather than melt your heart for donations.

When I find a way to stop them I sure as hell wont use the text for santa (or whatever) way of donating again.

Dont ever ring these numbers back.  In some cases they ring briefly to get your attention and then ring off in the hope you will call back.  As soon as your call is connected you are charged a huge amount and then smaller amounts for each minute if a conversation is held.  

If you dont recognise the number, dont ring back, simple.

Charity I dontated money to for deaf blind kids on 70007

After reading these comments I'm assuming its got something to do with the charity 'Sence' I donated to a few days ago. Note-  I cannot say for sure, but I dont donate much, but decided to just a few days ago... and and suddenly I get a call from a number related to charity.

I gave £3 to the UNICEF Syria appeal by text a few days ago after seeing one of their ads. Now I'm getting pestered daily by this 'Listen' outfit. If charities are going to pass on your phone number to spammers they should say so in the ads that solicit the donation.

I have had a lot of these calls, I think there related to an Irish lottery scam. I got cought our receiving texts and they cost me £4.50 a time - this number started at the same time

I am sick of calls from this number Get at least 1a day. Have blocked number on mobile but this had no effect . I haven't donated to any charity lately so don't know how they got my number just wish they would stop.

I have been receiving calls, almost daily and some days more often for at least a month.  They always manage to time their calls to interrupt something important I am doing.  I have my phone set with a "Do not answer" visual message when this number rings but how do I stop the calls?

Mine was from a smooth-rapid -talking guy reporting to be from UNICEF but am not sure its genuine ...

5 calls on my mobile in less than 24 hours.None answered as my phone unattended. Last time this sort of thing happened I had donated to a charity by mobile text, so somebody had sold on my mobile number. Having swore never to donate in that way again, I relented a couple of days ago and did donate by text. Now these calls, obviously got my number in this way.

Well, should we ever donate by text if we don't want these nuisance calls? Like everyone else I give what and when I can.  Pity we have to avoid givimg by text, it is such an easy way, but clearly there is a penalty which of course will rebound and deprive charities who operate in this way.

Just like the enormous volume of mail by post that follows credit card donations, I wonder if my contributions only go to fund the marketing, which raises more funds - to fund more marketing.  Don't mind people having jobs marketing, but I want my money to go to the suffering people it was meant for.

Been called by this company numerous times over holidays as I have donated to several charities via text recently. I now withhold my mobile number before texting on the assumption they won't be able to contact me afterwards. Fingers crossed!

I have had up to 5 phone calls some days i have an answerphone no messages are ever left. even rang in the evenings. i have never answered so fed up with these calls

I've been getting quite a few calls from this number lately and haven't donated to a charity recently. Getting annoying, especially when they call you over the weekend!!

Bloomin annoying - keep ringing at least 3 times a day and never leave a message.
