New number and they keep calling

Called me, I didn't answer, but based on the charity element to all these replies (and the fact I gave my number to some chuggers a couple of weeks back) I am guessing this would be one of those companies that touts for donations on a charity's behalf. Not a scam, but irritating nonetheless. Only got myself to blame though :\

It's Christian aid. Legit enough, but slightly annoying!

I donated money to Scope earlier this year and they were taking £9 out of my account every month; i was not aware they would be taking that much out so i cancelled the direct debit as I am not working. I have gotten two calls from them this week that I answered and have ignored a call from an 020 number today.
Is there anyway I can block marketing calls as I seem to be getting called up practically every day and now I no longer answer my home phone!

I just received a call from this number - on behalf of Save the Children.

Again he was very polite but persistent, wanting £12/£6/£3 a month

Its the NSPCC asking me to increase my monthly direct debit.

I signed up to Amnesty International the other day (only because i couldn't be bothered to come up with yet another excuse when they won't take no for an answer) and have had several missed calls from this number since. It's probs the agency that employs those annoying street canvassers for various charities.

Rang me every day for a week - while i was at work - i finally answered at the weekend - and it's CentrePoint. I've made a couple of donations and they want more.

Could be something to do with Amnesty International charity as I got talked into donating to them the other day :/

From reading the other postings, it sounds as though it is a call centre that a lot of charities use to try and get people to donate or donate more.  They don't seem to give up either.  I have missed their calls (not deliberately) for the few weeks and they STILL keep trying :-)

Received calls from this number to my mobile 1-4 times per day for the past week or so, haven't answered as I'm abroad and would have to pay for it. Has anyone actually found how to stop these calls?

This number keeps calling my pay as you go number (my main number now is on contract). What Ive been doing for the last few months is Ive turned my Pay as you go number off now most of the day and only have it On for 10 minutes to see if I have any texts from people who I've not wanted to have my contract number.
This number always seems to pop up in my call catcher. They don't leave any voice messages.

Ive never signed up for any charity or been approached in the street but this number calls me on a phone only my girlfriend knows the number too.

Your number is on a list that is sold to these sort of companies.

Mine was free of the net and this is how they got my details . I just turn this phone on when I need to call her nd ignore it the rest of the time

This number rings me about 3 or 4 times a day, from early afternoon to 7 in the evening.   I haven't picked up but my housemate answered when I wasn't there, and it was someone trying to fundraise for WWF. I just entered a competition connected with WWF so I suppose that's how they got my number. Gonna bar them through my phone provider, They're bloody annoying. You can find out through your phone company how to do this.

I've been getting missed calls from this number, everyday, for two weeks. An hour earlier each day. I assume its a charitable organization however I do not give my number out when approached on the street.

It will be a call centre, which is why we cant find the exact company, who is acting on behalf of the the previously mentioned charities, mine is WWF, i have been phoned about 7 times from them, and no answer phone message left as not one specific company

It is a charity, wanting money from you.

Its Listen ringing on behalf of various charities. In my case it was the WWF cause i donated £3 to save tigers. They wanted donations of £12/£6/£3 pounds per month. Since they had already called me about 20 times i finally agreed to pay £3 per month. Then at the end of the call the guy said that he was legally obliged to tell me that Listen get paid £140k of the £970k they aim to raise through the campaign. So at that point i told him to not process my donation and i would set it up direct with the WWF. He said ok but sure enough 2 days later the direct debt forms came through, which i promptly shredded.

After the first missed call, I called back and it went to a pre-recorded message confirming that it was a 'courtesy call' from a charity.

Since then they've called daily; each day a different hour- it just happens I'm working so can't take the call to tell them to stop. Not a clue how they got my number though...
