we are tps screened and ex directory, yet this number rang both my landline, and private mobile number!

basically the car phone warehouse "sold" my details, when i expressly told them i didn't want any calls ~ they aplogised when i called to challenge them on it. I was immediately after getting a phone from them, inundated with calls, from all sorts of marketing people, which never happened before (we are very careful on this point).

basically, if you value your privacy, DONT DEAL WITH THE CAR PHONE WAREHOUSE

call from this number. said I charge £600 a minute. they hung up!

Called me Saturday 17/08/12 at 1935hrs, I didn't recognise the number so didn't answer it.  If it is GKN then I have just completed a paper survey on a new car for them.  Perhaps this is how they got my number.

they said they were working on behalf of hsbc which is defiantly a lie and they wanted us to do a survey. once we said we won't they put the phone straight down. does anyone knows who this is???

Just received a call from this number. Didn't get to answer it and have just checked the number here. I am so glad that I missed this call as I am also ex directory.  Would like to know we're they go my number. I will remember what I have read on this site. As in telling them that I charge for my rely, I love that one! Many thanks for the help I have received.

I just had a call from the above phone number but there was no-one there.  Another nuisance call!!!!

Yet another so called Marketing Company who failed to wait until I could get to the phone, I am over 80 and they must know this because they have got my number, I do not accept any business calls, those that stay on until I get there are told this but it makes no differencethey still call again , it is very annoying and not good for my health, I have a Heart condition and these sort of calls do not help.Can someone tell me how can I stop these sort of calls because British Telecom are not interested

This company called us on a Sunday afternoon. I was cooking, and my husband, who has just come home from hospital after a stroke, went to answer the phone. It was a market research company!! We are registered with TPS, and yet still get constant sales and survey calls. When will these companies be fined, I was under the impression these types of calls are illegal. Very angry to be bombarded constantly, when my husband is trying to rest. It's around the 7th unwanted call in the last week.

phoned at 7 pm asked to speak to my son using his full name (which  is 4 names in full) and so i knew it had to be iffy when i told him i was him then tried to tell me he was DOING A SURVEY FOR THE H.S.B.C at which point i told him to go away in the most pleasent way i could muster so please do not give information to anyone who says they are phoning on behalf of your bank

Had a call from this number at 8.40pm tonight telling me they were from Works and Pensions dept ref a survey..admittedly I was supposed to fill out a survey about works programmes and how they have helped..but completely forgot all about it..and if i didnt want to fill it out i was to contact them..ok my fault possibly for doing neither..but I find calls at that time of night a bit annoying..they didnt want to do the survey there n then but wanted to ring back tomorrow evening..so what was the point of the call..now after reading lots of posts on here im reluctant to answer the phone tomorrow..altho they could be doing a genuine job..

Market research, I was asked questions about car windscreen repair. I like the idea of charging these pests for your time. They're making money from your answers, so why shouldn't you get your share?
As for those callers who claim to be calling from or on behalf of your bank, don't give them any details. If they're genuinely from your bank they should be able to prove it, if they can't or won't, don't trust them!

I had a call from this number, didn't answer the phone, did 1470 to find this number. Did not reply

Said they were from GSK Research. When I asked how she got my number, said they were random digit dialing. I said no thanks and hung up.

I always tell them to go away, but I use two other words!

And before you winge on about "They can take you to court for that", and other comments, I've been doing it for several years with these type of people, and they never have.

Call received at 6.45pm - GFK Bank Survey - I tell them I'm not interested then put the phone down.

Received a call from 02078909052. When I answered the call they hung up. What a waste of my time!

Normally I screen calls and dont answer, but after getting about 2 calls a day, everyday, anytime between 7am - 11pm, I answered and spoke to a woman with an Indian accent. I had difficulty understanding her in this instance but told her never to call again and remove my number from their database. The calls have continued regardless.

Several calls from this outfit ( "GFK" ) "Opinion Poll" - as already identified call ignored :-)
