Report a phone call from 02078909052 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- HelenI had already had a missed call from this number. Having checked on here, when they rang a second time I answered 'Department of Work and Pensions Fraud Office - how may I help you.' Never heard from them again. I have found this a very useful deterrent.

- AndrewHad calls from this number on a Saturday and again today "SUNDAY" am with TPS, didn't answer as I was at work but not a number I know, Now blocked on my phone

- SteveGot a call from this number earlier this evening. Indian sounding bloke asked if I'd be willing to answer a few questions regarding customer services at HSBC (he asked for me by name) I said I wouldn't mind so long as it was quick. He firstly asked me how I'd found the staff upon my recent visit to the Newcastle upon Tyne branch. When I told him that I hadn't visited that branch recently he apologised for bothering me, saying that he'd been given the wrong information. .... Very bizarre.

As this is a survey it may not be covered by TPS as it is not marketing BUT GfK having conducted a survey can sell your details to direct marketing who may or may not be subscribers to TPS.
Suggest contact GfK and
1) ask where they got your number from
2) you will answer their questions if they pay you £10 per minute
3) will not pass your details on and if they do will pay a "fine" of £5000- Caller: GfK

- Worcester ManRe my above message this link may help http://www.gfknop.com/company/contactus/index.en.php it takes you to GfKNOP web site where there is a link to "General information for the general public" where you can check the call is genuine.

- Mrs nc| 1 replyI just got a call from this number, the guy knew my name and my bank and also which branch I had recently been to, to put money into my account, he said he's carrying out a customer satisfaction survey and his first question was "what time of day did u go to this branch" I found that a very personal question as real HSBC members may use this info to clear security, therefore I ended the call on him.
- ChrisGot a call from this number today and they claimed to be from the job centre doing some survey about back to work stuff.. I felt the guy was too pushy asking to many questions so told him to do one.. Dodgey.
- Caller: Caliamed to be from department of work and pensions

- Millicent MouseSaturday. 1220. I didn't recognize number. No message left on machine.
- Caller: Some parasite.
- chrisGot a call from this number saying they want to speak to me (they knew my name) about some research.
I am ex directory, registered with TPS and this is my private emergency use number. I am really shocked that somene from a research company is able to rng me on my private number and actually adress me by my real name. Mr Cameroon Nick Clegg and Ed Milliband are you listening. We are no longer safe in our own houses. The only three companies who have my phone and real name details are 1) my HSBC bank 2) my telephone company 3) my Burglar alarm company. Of these I strongly suspect HSBCs Indian call centres leaking/selling my details.
As for GFK NOP Tel: +44 (0)20 7890 9000 (head office) they are not answering their phones (its after 7pm now) so WHY are they ringing us at these times?- Caller: GFK NOP

- LeonEr! Hang on a minute guys; is that all of it?
My experience is that these idiot calls come in waves.
This evening I have had a call from this mob, GFK. Thanks to all on this excellent website for identifying them for me/us.
Earlier I had a call from Adventis Credit, (08448241820) a debt collection tribe. My phone hardly ever rings and then I get two wierdos on one evening......!!?? Is it time-triggered software or do I need exorcism?
Any insights anybody?

- Dave C| 2 repliesBeen getting a lot of these calls recently and it is a real pain as I work one to one with clients and these calls disrupt the session; but I cannot afford to miss genuine business calls. It got so bad in November that I recorded a message explaining why I do not answer calls from unrecognised numbers ask them to leave a name and message. I input the number into this site to see who they are (they never do leave a message and usually ring off before my message ends). over the last couple of month the calls have dropped from 10 or more a day, to two a day. With my phone I can hear the caller leaving their message and can pick up to talk if I want to.
Wish I had done this months ago. The TPS does not stop a lot of these calls (not their fault entirely). If your phone can do this set it up. I don't believe I have lost any client because of this and the relief from stress and annoyance is brilliant.- Caller: Didn't say
- Helena replies to Dave C| 1 replyHello, I actually work for Gfk NOP because it's the only place that is offering a job. Yes I understand it's annoying to have someone call you in the middle of dinner, or something else, but the company has certain shifts for us workers to work on. I personally hate my job. I really really hate it. I sit at the phone for 3 hours straight having people like you shout at me down the phone and play mean little tricks. I understand completely if you're mad at the company but please don't take it out on te callers. We're ony trying to earn a little money however we can. I en up crying at te end of each shift because I haven't learnt to desperate myself from the job and not take it personally.
Yes, GfK is a genuine market research company, they're employed to survey the public by banks, businesses etc. you can call Market Research Society on 0500 396999 if you need to complain etc.
But I am 17 years old trying to earn a wage and my weeks are made horrible because of people giving me abuse down the phone. Please take this into consideration.
And yes, the company gets your numbers by random digit dialling, a system that changes digits to create numbers to dial. - Kevin replies to Helena"People like you shout at me or play mean little tricks". I don't see where Dave C mentions this in his post. He is claiming 10 calls a day - that is an excessive amount of unwanted phone calls. We personally have video footage of my sons first birthday being disrupted by a survey call while we are singing him "happy birthday". I missed a call that my sister was in the hospital in critical condition because I was stuck on the phone with a survey call. It seems to be assumed by many of these companies that we are all just sitting around watching TV in our boxers with nothing better to do than to run to the phone to answer the call of duty placed on us. Please finish your education and use this crappy job as motivation to eventually retire from something better than working for these types of companies. I wish you the best.
